Grand Total £8213.03 - Mercy Centre Foundation, by Harveyn on Sept 25, 2008 15:13:14 GMT 1, "Open & Shut"This years Open & Shut sketch pads have been put together to help raise funds for the Mercy Centre Foundation www.mercycentre.org/The Mercy Centre is a non profit organization in Bangkok. They build and operate schools, improve family health and welfare, protect street children's rights, combat the AIDS crisis, respond to daily emergencies, and offer shelter to orphans, to street children, and to children and adults with AIDS - always together, hand in hand and heart to heart with the people they serve This is the first of what we hope to be many annual appeals for a different charity each year. Each year will take the format of three sketch pads that will be sent to a group of artists to produce works of their choice to help raise funds for the nominated charity. Next years event will include a limited edition book of the works produced. This year’s contributors and people of immense generosity are as follows. Open & Shut - Y2008Book 1 Beejoir Mr Jago Chinamike Grafter Rourke Guy Denning Jef Aerosol Book 2Beejoir Matt Small Miss Bugs Mau Mau Goldie Hush Nick Walker Neverwork Book 3Beejoir Brian Jones Dale Grimshaw Herakut Case SPQR Static A full listing of the completed works can be found on the following blog. themercycentrefoundationappeal.blogspot.com/The following Galleries & Artists who have kindly agreed to help raise awareness of the appeal by adding links of this blog to their website. This list will be added to as more Galleries and Artists come on board this week. www.jonathanlevinegallery.comwww.campbarbossa.comwww.edgeart.co.ukwww.eddielock.co.ukwww.souledoutstudios.comwww.welikestatic.comgrafter.bigcartel.com/www.art-el.co.uk/www.hipartgallery.comwww.artofbrianjones.com www.urbanangel.comwww.hanguppictures.comwww.apishangel.com/www.dalegrimshaw.comwww.carmichaelgallery.com/The Main EventThe three books will be auctioned on Ebay with auctions commencing the 11.10.2008 and running for 20 days. Next year we may look to auction houses to potentially maximise the funds raised. Books 1 & 2 will be raffled on Ebay with each ticket costing £5.00 and with payment strictly by Paypal. The auction will be listed as 100% donation to charity and the payments will be made directly to the Paypal account of the registered charity. In this way we minimise fees and maximise the contribution to the nominated charity. People are more than welcome to buy more than one ticket and the unique reference number issued by Paypal will be used in the raffle process. The two winners will be announced on the 01.11.2008. Book 3 will be auctioned on Ebay with the auction again commencing on the 11.10.2008 and running for 20 days. Payment for this book will be by Paypal or Cheque only. Any Paypal payment will again be made directly to the Paypal account of the registered charity and with all cheques being made out directly to the charity. Donations – Several Galleries and Artists made very kind separate donations. These will all be auctioned as individual items on Ebay during the month of Oct-08. Payment for these donations will be by Paypal or Cheque only. Any Paypal payment will again be made directly to the Paypal account of the registered charity and with all cheques being made out directly to the charity. Grand Total £8213.03 - Mercy Centre Foundation, by Bram on Sept 26, 2008 11:13:01 GMT 1, Great effort getting this one off the ground. Well done Neil and Ged and all the artist / galleries. It's obvious to see the amount of work that's gone into this.

Grand Total £8213.03 - Mercy Centre Foundation, by Heavyconsumer on Sept 26, 2008 16:18:37 GMT 1, Well done guys - The end products are looking superb! Following their progress has been fun and there are some really special contributions in there. Whilst I have a couple of clear favourites, I think a massive "RESPECT" is due to the pair of you and ALL the guys who've contributed. Your hard work and positivity reflects well on us all, so thanks for blessing this community with such a great project.
I'm pleasantly surprised that 2 of the books will be raffled. I had been hoping that perhaps one of them might be. Nice surprise indeed for us peasants of the scene who otherwise would have little chance of buying some of this work.
