After all of yesterday's excitement!, by manchestermike on Jun 18, 2008 16:26:39 GMT 1, Bookings are taken in mid October - once the season is finished. The date is announced on their website. Season finishes on 5th October so I imagine they will open the book about a week later... it usually is full within the day for the next year El Bulli - I've heard of that, it's in Spain right? one of the best restaurants in the world apparently.
Indeed, most people would say the best in the world... I'm determined to get in for the 2009 season

After all of yesterday's excitement!, by angryboy on Jun 18, 2008 16:27:53 GMT 1, Most the folk I know (2 out of 3) who've been weren't that enamoured, saying they take it too far and go beyond it being food. I'd still like to give it a go to make up my own mind though.

It's about 40 miles from the Costa Brava so you could combine it with that then (I think you still can) stay up there the night and drive back the next day
The main issue is getting in though:
"The restaurant has a limited season from April to September; bookings are taken on a single day in the previous October. It accommodates only 8,000 diners a season, with 800,000 people calling to try and book places — around 400 requests for every table. The average cost of a meal is €250; the restaurant itself has operated at a loss since 2000, with operating profit coming from El Bulli-related books, and lectures from Adrià. As of April 2008, the restaurant employed 42 chefs"

After all of yesterday's excitement!, by bobbyt23 on Jun 18, 2008 19:32:38 GMT 1, The more I read about it the more it appeals to me. I'm out of the Banksy game now and focussing all my powers on getting a table at El Bulli.
Have you tried to get in before Mike??

Good luck trying to get a table at El Bulli. You will need it. I tried with several friends last year on "opening day" and we were all rejected. And you only get to try once per year.
Fat Duck is nice. I went in 2005. The French Laundry in Yountville, CA is also very very good.
