Signed in crayon... , by kentkid on Nov 28, 2007 13:08:11 GMT 1, I have a few Banksy's, but this is my first signed Banksy print - and I was over the moon to get a signed colour Trolleys for only ยฃ425!
After seeing the pic of the orange signature on the B&W Trolleys, I have to admit that I much prefer the standard pencil signature.
A signed Banksy is a signed Banksy, but I would presonally prefer a 'proper' pencil signature. I can only assume that the colour Trolleys signature will the same as the B&W Trolleys signature.
I guess I'll find out next week!

Signed in crayon... , by redfred on Nov 28, 2007 13:17:03 GMT 1, There is obviousely some merits in using a crayon as opposed to pencil as Picasso and Dali used crayon extensively but the reasons escape me, possibly some of our more learned colleagues could shed some light, Iam well aware that signing in pen as Banksy has done in the past is not a good idea, but in this instance I will feel quite happy, presuming colours are also crayon signed, to have one of the first prints where he has broken with tradition!

I've got to admit part of the pleasure is getting one up on someone in the queue who for years has always been ahead of me and exhibits, shall we say, challenging behaviour during the course of the queueing experience

No harm done I don't think!?

I don't have my flag in front of me, but doesn't it have a small printed signature in the bottom left? That looks a bit like the new crayon scrawl?

As I understand it, pencil and crayon are the two most easily-identifiable when (and if ever needed to be) studied by an expert for authenticity. I know that pen ink bleeds, especially into printing paper, so that is never any good. Plus, it fades over time. Wax and pencil last much longer.

Signed in crayon... , by fartofthestate on Nov 28, 2007 15:27:37 GMT 1, I think it makes it a hell of alot easier as there is no accuracy in the signature. Dont suppose it really causes a problem as you can fake any signature if you try hard enough. Maybe its special handmade wax or something that POW can check in the future??? or.. shock horror.. maybe someone else signed em ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Brilliant....

Correct.. sorry if my not replying for ages appeared to be me dodging you, I've spent the past few hours completely engrossed in the moron colours thread and wondering where mine fits in by holding it in various lights etc etc etc. mine's fallowy/light brown, if anyone's bothered. and the hounds nads btw.
Now.... the <sigh> was merely me wondering what if pezlow actually DID think I was idiot enough to think there was a signed Flags... but also because I had a general feeling anyway that pezlow might think I'm an idiot anyway as I was pulled up for gross beginner's errors about which I now know better, thanks for pointing me in the direction of all the outlying infomation on the forum (this is how I got to the morons thread I mentioned before). I obviously only meant the "signature" in the bottom left of the flags print below the car (in the print). I hope I haven't just imagined seeing one there once. This too wouldn't surprise me.
Sorry pezlow - there was nothing sinister hidden in it.
Fallow I say!!
