Dora @ POW, by hasselhoff on Nov 29, 2007 10:47:40 GMT 1, "I am sure this print now belongs to a member of the POW staff so they can sell on ebay for an inflated price" thats a big leap of logic....
It's the only conclusion I can draw after being told a blatent lie by a member of the POW team.
Everyone else on here moans about the flippers and I do something to bring one to justice and I get 2 negs over it (so far). This hardly seems fair to me.
I have purchased Banksy prints from POW since day one and this guy had never bought one before and tries to sell before he is even in possession of it (against ebays policy), I think it is only fair he deserves to lose out (even if I did too!)

Dora @ POW, by dave313perry on Nov 29, 2007 10:52:57 GMT 1, It opens up a huge can of worms to try and police the turning over of prints - if you can attain someones details then you can cancel their prints then??? loads of people on here trade and know eachother addresses - people also disclose the numbers on their prints - so just e-mail POW and get them cancelled - real dodgy ground for me. and also shouldnt be done, by either you or POW IMO - nothing against the Hoff of course!!

Dora @ POW, by ogrgel on Nov 29, 2007 11:06:34 GMT 1, I managed to obtain the POW order confirmation number for a colour trolleys flipper. (I e-mailed a seller and agreed an 'off ebay' buy it now price, they sent me the order confirmation details as proof they had secured a print) I telephoned Dora and gave her the details, I explained that if she was not going to cancel the flippers order and let me have the print then I was going to send said flipper the amount they were asking for as I REALLY wanted this print. She said "do not send this guy money, his print was cancelled ages ago and has since been resold". Shortly after this telephone conversation I receive angry e-mail from the flipper asking why their order had just tht minute been cancelled. I have e-mailed Dora a couple of times since asking her why she had lied and told me that this print had been cancelled ages ago, and what would now happen with the available print. I have had nothing back. I am sure this print now belongs to a member of the POW staff so they can sell on ebay for an inflated price, or indeed one of their friends. I'm a little annoyed as I did all the hard work of bringing a flipper to justive and now someone (unknown) gains a colour trolley. I guess I got my reward for being a grass, but this was my only opportunity to grab the print for less than 4 times face value!!!
oooooh and when all this happened ... before or after your mummy made you hot cocoa

Dora @ POW, by alsbabar on Nov 29, 2007 12:39:04 GMT 1, by definition isnt an art dealer a flipper, they buy to sell for a profit?
Anyway the key thing to do before flip is to get the artwork first
Hasselhoff - you are a grass IMO, irrespective, you sound bitter because you lost out on a print and tried to stop someone from selling it, so you can have it for yourself, so not only are you a grass but a backstabber. I am not going to glorify you as some Flipper vigilantee or some art hero. You get a neg from me for that.

Dora @ POW, by hasselhoff on Nov 29, 2007 12:56:02 GMT 1, I did not post this to be seen as a vigilate art hero. The discussion is about Dora at POW who, in this instance, told me a blatent lie.
I did what I did because I feel that I deserve that print more than someone who was buying purely to make a quick profit. As already mentioned I have been a loyal customer of POW longer than most and I am missing out to people who do not even want their purchases!
It really is safer to only say things on this forum if you know they are going to 100% agree with you. This is a discussion forum, things are there to be discussed. This is the issue with the respect system, it does not encourage debate for the fear of loss of respect.

what a load of s**t, to say you deserve a print more than anyone else, because you have been a loyal customer. What about all the people who missed out on Grannies, when POW cancelled their orders, or more recently when after F5ing for a month, Proxt screws people over when trying to buy Trolleys'?
Like someone alluded to here, if you have loads of prints from the beginning, why dont you sell one to fund the purchase of another. Actually, if you are going to sell any, sell to me at cost?

Dora @ POW, by dave313perry on Nov 29, 2007 13:06:36 GMT 1, I think people are kinda going off topic - i disagree with what you did, i dont think you have the right to snitch/grass whatever, as his reasons maybe genuine, ie maybe he wanted a B/W signed or unsigned, could only get a colour in the frenzy so decided to sell on and buy what he really wanted, your hardly going to turn up your nose at the colour if its there however much you want a B/W. just not your place to judge, i understand your discruntlement at POWs reply - and the way they seem to have lied, bad business practice but maybe they just dont want people getting involved which is my guess...

Dora @ POW, by klyde on Nov 29, 2007 13:10:16 GMT 1, At the end of the day all of the Banksy prints will end up on the walls of Banksy fans.
Some paid cost price, others paid true market value.
If looking at ebay annoys you, donโt look.
Nobody has the divine right to own a Signed Banksy for ยฃ400 odd. And just because Hasslehoff grassed up a flipper in an astonishing display of sour grapes it doesnโt mean he should get to buy the print, cost price, as some sort of reward!
Regarding Dora โ She is hot. Thatโs my only opinion on her as I have never dealed with her.

I don't believe what Dora said was a lie of any description, let alone a blatent (sic) one.
POW's cancellation of prints which turn out to have been ordered by flippers is a policy decision made by POW long before the seller tried to flip the print to you. His print counted as cancelled from the minute he ordered it and the fact that the seller was only informed of the cancellation straight after you grassed him up was only final implementation of the cancellation (after all you let them know exactly which print and purchaser - how do you think POW find these people out? Throwing darts at the list of sales whilst blindfolded perhaps).
Seems to me your rabid desire to have "full prov" and the possible resale advantage this gives you ended up being your undoing... (hey we're all allowed leaps of logic right?)
Dora is a queen, end of. I (we) owe her huge gratitude for so many things which we tend to take to for granted. Kisses to Dora, +1 to Moz for highlighting Dora's efforts, -1 to Michael Knight.

Dora @ POW, by curiousgeorge on Nov 29, 2007 13:45:50 GMT 1, Shame the thread turned this way, amazing how people can know why someone is selling a print.
My post may go off on a tangent now, due to things happening in my life right now but........
I happen to know through email someone who had a 'team' of people that managed to get over a dozen prints. This makes me mad as hell, and I've been known to moan about many unfair things in life. But a dear friend once told me "You cannot save the world"
For the most part the world is not a nice place, but you can cut away a tiny bit of happiness and protect it for you and you're loved one's.Or in short pay no attention to what others do and concentrate on being happy we are here for a short time only!
Dora is golden in my book, and with something like this mistakes are bound to occur from time to time. You cannot please ALL the people, ALL the time
Peace

Dora @ POW, by alsbabar on Nov 29, 2007 13:51:24 GMT 1, Curiousgeorge, I dont think Dora would have made a mistake - she would have seen issues like this time and time again and they would probably have an automatic process in place to cancel any orders that appear on ebay. If you recall they even made the statement in their newsletter for theTrolleys' "time to get your fake ebay accounts ready". The person selling probably used the same email address for ebay as he did when ordering, so the mug probably cancelled himself, rather than Hass doing it!!

Can someone tell me what the process is to have a damaged print replaced?
