"See no evil" Bristol, by des77 on Aug 22, 2011 14:08:19 GMT 1, This was SPQR, there must have been 40+ hours work behind that piece. Top artist Was a collab between myself and SPQR...... and yes it took us all in about 40 hours! and about 500 or so stencil layers (including repetitions)
Quality wall. How did you manage to get to 500 layers ?

That was a rough count a more accurate way to describe it would be 500 uses of different stencils..... the bees are all at least 5 layers depending on how many wings and antenna they had (some where more mutated than others) The regular looking honeycomb like in the bottom left is 4 colours and 2 layers of stencil, each metal panel had the base stencil repeated at least 3 times and the top layer was done in groups of 4 cells at a time. the silver framework was approx 8 goes per full panel then the black bolt holes were added 2 at a time then on the grey panels the silver bolt heads were added 2 at a time....I think you get the idea!

not the ideal way to do it but was hard to use real big stencils and get them lined up for repetition purposes when you are bundled into a wobbly cherry picker and have vertigo!
Cheers

oh and we also did a different pattern on the side of the building...will see if I can dig out a pic
