Well Wishes to US East Coast Members, by curiousgeorge on Aug 28, 2011 13:33:10 GMT 1, This hurricane is insane and now they just issued a tornado warning for the county I live in. Thankfully I moved all my art over the past few days to a part of the house that has no doors and windows for safety.
Thanks for the heads up
Jokes aside hope you are all safe, a tiny part of me can't help but think of Katrina and the lack of help (maybe those in power learnt from those mistakes)

Hate to say it, but I think Katrina was in parts of the country where they really wasnt bothered. Can you imagine New York to still be flattened 4-5 years after the storm ?... it just wouldnt be aloud to happen

Well Wishes to US East Coast Members, by Wearology on Aug 28, 2011 14:52:06 GMT 1, Irene is staring to slow down and now the clean up begins - the damage done by Irene is minimal at best. The damage by Katrina was devastating and is not even in the same league as Irene. Thanks for all the love from our forum family.

happy to hear everything went more or less ok...
now, I might be wrong, but I can't help but think that all these cataclysmic warnings and panic were issued/built on purpose, just to get people's minds away from other essential problem US been having lately.. not to mention foreign politics..

after how the city handled the snow storms this past winter, they had to swing the pendulum the otherway and not take any chances on this one... legacies were at stake...

Well Wishes to US East Coast Members, by Sacked... on Aug 28, 2011 18:30:12 GMT 1, From WOOSTER COLLECTIVE :
"If you live in downtown New York City and are already going stir crazy, Sara and I are opening up our space Meet At The Apartment at 3pm today for a free movie day. Beer and wine will be flowing. We'll be pouring both the Wooster Collective Cabernet Sauvignon and the Syrah. Who's in"?

You're 100% wrong. The flooding in New Jersey is some of the worst that the state has ever seen and Vermont has gotten hit extremely hard. Bridges, roads and homes washed away. New York City got lucky but a large portion of the US wasn't as fortunate.
Not everything is a conspiracy, you must be exhausted after connecting all of these stories.

Well Wishes to US East Coast Members, by boatyb on Aug 29, 2011 19:44:49 GMT 1, yeah, that was a hit... could have been worst in many cases...
but, where there is pain, there is strength...
the sun rises every day, even when it's really really cloudy and dark outside... we must always do the same... and, help life live...
