In Case of Peace artwork, by Poppy Sunshine on Aug 10, 2011 10:52:45 GMT 1, I'll assume this thread was about the piece you created or at least were working on some time ago Michael.
As with all works of this type it is a piece of social commentary relevant to the current state of our world. This has never stopped Banksy, Micallef or anyone else releasing images of bombs, planes, petrol bomb throwers or anything else and I suspect the people who have a problem with your listing have walls covered in this stuff.
Don't pay any heed to them being over politically correct, touchy or simply boring and please post the thread again.
If it's art it's art so what's the problem?
People are getting killed and abused all over the world and the whole urban art scene is snapping up work covered in bombs, skulls, planes, guns, starving children, etc etc etc left right and centre so there is absolutely no problem with this piece and I for one would love to see the images put back up. (if indeed they were up in the first place because as usual someone has tried to spoil it for me before I got to see it).
Hope things are going well Michael. All the best.

A lot of people suffering though, london was still smouldering when this thread first started. Some things are just bad taste or too close for comport, I notice there was no Amy Winehouse piece by Banksy....
Enjoy MJ's work though so I look forward to seeing other stuff in the future

With the greatest of respect des77 the Middle East has been smouldering for years and people are being killed every day. African children are still starving and dropping like flies.
I sincerely hope the situation in the UK is resolved soon and have every sympathy for those on the wrong end of the looting and violence but I simply cannot fathom how the suffering of those wrapped up in the current world war and the children stuck in abject poverty across the world can equate to, or cause less offence or upset than 4 days of unrest in London.
The UK riots will soon be over but the situations abroad have been going on for years and will continue to do so. Does that fact that they are on the other side of the world not qualify any artwork depicting them as being in "bad taste" or "too close for comfort"?
Obviously the majority of our favourite and best respected street and urban artists don't think so as they've been depicting all of the above throughout and we've all been buying it without the need to feel "offended" in any way.
In support of this I'll say that it turns out this particular Michael Jacobs artwork was done in 2008 but no-one has been offended by it until we have a bit of a ruck on our own doorstep. Doesn't that help make my point?
Is everyone suddenly being offended by all the Micallefs, Nick Walkers and Banksys on their walls featuring guns and bombs seeing as the subject matter is more local this week? I don't think so.
Let's get back to the art side of things and put this piece up again for us all to see so that we can comment on the work instead.
Personally I'm a bid fed up with skulls and internal organs but will simply avert my eyes if it's too upsetting to look.

In Case of Peace artwork, by Michael Jacob on Aug 10, 2011 13:30:03 GMT 1, WOW. Thanks for all the support. What I love about this forum are its members, and the diversity of opinions. I pulled down my piece yesterday because I didnt want to offend anyone. Members like xmyart and others had very valid points and I still respect that. I will not be selling this piece now, but would like to show it to the many people who have asked. As a few pointed out, I did this piece back in 2008 and wasnt able to produce it for technical reasons. I now can. Having said that, I can see where my timing was poor and disrespectful of what is going on in many of your backyards. When I originally posted this back in 2008, I had many people wanting to buy it. I had to cancel orders when the resins werent drying properly. Some of you might even remember my first version of this piece, which was based on two versions. There was one with a Qur'an, and one with a Bible (framed with glass and words over them). Id still like to do those some day. Once again, thanks for everyones opinions, they mean a lot to me.

In Case of Peace artwork, by simonf on Aug 10, 2011 16:42:23 GMT 1, Art quite offen offends....
I also agree with the point about someone being shot, so can we have no pictures of guns... perhaps someone can write to Antony Micalleff and tell him to stop drawing guns as there are some seriously offended people here.
also 3 men were run over last night... so definitely no pictures of cars please as people do get offended
also that banksy picture of blokes climbing out of a window with a T.V. could I ask for this not to be shown as it is clearly glamorises theft.
Right some nice inoffensive art anyone? I have a giclee print of child dressed as a clown with a single tear in his eye.... fantastic I just love it. And no one is offended... perfect

ok, with research anything works... but RJ already said the work was made without much of it. Know facts about political art or you may end up offending someone... maybe that is a better point

no body was hurt stealing a tv, 3 people died getting run over by that car... your point is far from valid.
Yes political art is made, Banksy made a Rodney King piece... but not the day he died. Maye he should be making a stencil of a familys house that has burnt down ?
This petrol bomb piece was made in 08, it was released now to cash in on the situation... unless its a charity piece for all those that lost there homes IMO its bad taste
