Your biggest regret buying/selling art, by Forbidden Love on Mar 10, 2012 12:25:52 GMT 1, Not a regret re-buying but... After emailing Mr B via the old cashformonkeys site about buying affordable Banksy work in 1999... I got an invite to his first London show... My regret is deciding not to attend the show on the walls/tunnel on Rivington Street in 2000 after waiting for updates on the day of show, then it was announced at the last minute and I thought it'd be too much hassle getting there. What I missed. And although I can't be sure if I would have bought something even if I had gone... I missed out on being able to buy the affordable piece I'd asked about.
you must of missed out on other shows you knew about after that aswell?

Your biggest regret buying/selling art, by larsson on Mar 11, 2012 14:05:46 GMT 1, ...I've had a few but then again too few to... well actually, come to think of it...
There's being a Banksy fan back in the day but knowing nothing about buying prints until much too late, there's not buying a large Eine canvas when I had the chance, watching the price jump on an Olympic Riley print whilst in my basket?, wasting time waiting for and failing to bag a Fairey or Phlegm print - but more than all of this is paying Laz an extra ยฃ80 'tax' for the latest Zevs.
That all said there have fortunately been enough positive moments to outweigh any bad.

And obviously, not having extra cash at the time for all the Banky's still available on POW end of 05/beginning 06. Did get one though. So alls not lost

Had the money, coincidentally had the week off work...bottled it. I could still go but I guess the same reasons are stopping me now as then.

Your biggest regret buying/selling art, by Ottomatik on Nov 21, 2015 20:55:13 GMT 1, Around 3 years ago I had to sell this to buy new tires for my car:
Out of everything I've sold, this is the one I regret the most!
The good news.... There is one on it's way to me from London as I type this!!!!!!! So excited! The only print I've ever brought back into my collection!
I snagged it with a Miss Bugs trade.
(Thank you fellow forum member!)

Your biggest regret buying/selling art, by Coach on Nov 22, 2015 0:15:40 GMT 1, When I got my current job (08) agreed with my ex that I could spend a significant amount of money on a piece of art. Had an email exchange with Charming Baker about buying a canvas. Before he shot to fame. Price was, if memory serves, ยฃ2k. The canvas of the boy in an anorak painting a gun at the viewer. Very pleasant email exchange. Was also talking to TLSG (I think it was) about buying a Herakut canvas. About same price. Bought the Herakut. Could have paid off my mortgage for the amount that the CB was later being sold for! I seem to remember that it was in the six figures, though that may only have been an estimate - my memory is hazy. In any event, it was shed loads! Hey ho!

It is easy to buy into hype, especially when you are new to collecting.
