Kaws market "reeling"?, by brazzy on Mar 15, 2019 0:39:19 GMT 1, I have to admit, I have a very low opinion of Kaws. It's worth looking at who is collecting his expensive pieces. As far as I know, they are all rap artists and sports stars. They are not your usual art collectors. They buy Kaws pieces because they have been told it is cool to do so. Are there any millionaire art collectors with a Warhol and a Pollock on their walls that have also bought a Kaws? I'm not aware of any. What does that tell you? You may find a Kaws outside municipal buildings and in airport terminals but do you find them in Tate or MoMA in NY? What does that tell you? He's definitely being represented by a hack art gallery. who the fuck ever heard of Skarstedt Gallery or any of the other no name artists on their roster. /s

Kaws Art Basel 2018 Split, by brazzy on Mar 10, 2019 18:42:40 GMT 1, As a Kaws fanboy that loved these paintings in person, I just don't care for these as prints. I did see a framed set from times6 on insta that looked pretty good. But imo, this may be his weakest print set.

Kaws market "reeling"?, by brazzy on Mar 10, 2019 18:35:04 GMT 1, Does this mean that someday I might be able to get a print at a price that isn't so ridiculous? Because if he's the next haring or something similar, that's probably not going to happen.
dude's work is pure kitsch, so you might as well sell your YSKIK for cost.

Kaws Brooklyn Museum Print, by brazzy on Mar 9, 2019 0:38:29 GMT 1, Seen some shockers so far, that visually make absolutely no sense. He has plenty of canvases and a editioned print or two that visually make no sense. I'll probably pair mine with something that helps give it plenty of context.
I definitely like my doodles from him a bit more than this mini-print, which I still love.

Kaws Brooklyn Museum Print, by brazzy on Feb 27, 2019 21:23:13 GMT 1, The weird thing is it says so in the letter from the Brooklyn Museum: "The handmade, unique print..." Jesus Iโve explained this once already!! Hand made because they are hand cut!! If you take a big print and cut a circle out, itโs hand made!! Now move along
Handmade is also often used to describe screenprints in general, which would be my guess for what that meant

Kaws Brooklyn Museum Print, by brazzy on Feb 13, 2019 17:34:01 GMT 1, the confirmation email said that "the print should arrive in 3-4 weeks.." They told me yesterday ,โpossibly this Friday.โ It sounded like a long shot though. possible that they'll start shipping friday or might start arriving at people's doors this Friday? Context says arriving Friday, but my impatience is making me confirm.

Kaws Brooklyn Museum Print, by brazzy on Feb 10, 2019 19:59:40 GMT 1, funny to see the final results.. right now looks like potential real bids are winning.. That's the same account that bought one of the other BIN listings that sold this weekend. shadiness abound.

Kaws Brooklyn Museum Print, by brazzy on Jan 27, 2019 0:41:01 GMT 1, I, too, had mine in the cart for several minutes while I waited for permission from my wife. Very thankful she got back to me in time. What a cool thing for him to do for us fans that could only ever dream of owning one of his prints. And for charity... Crazy they're already going for so much on ebay, but I still feel like most of these will not be changing hands. Is it a bit more expensive framing a tondo? They're obviously initially being shilled. No need to worry if you're keeping it? OK, after looking at the bid history on that one, I understand what shill means. def looks sketch. And I thought this print was going to make me rich, lol

: Kaws Brooklyn museum print. , by brazzy on Jan 26, 2019 21:03:56 GMT 1, $900 of it is tax deductible! $130.50 print LOL Is that really how that works? I thought you only get like a quarter of it back in taxes?
I'm not sure I understand the "shill, shill, shill" remark. What does that mean?

Jerkface ๐บ๐ธ New York Artist โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by brazzy on May 31, 2018 20:42:19 GMT 1, Kaws really helped usher in a whole new generation of lazy pop artists like jerkface, shelby & sandy, Greg Mike, Mr likey, etc.
TBH though, I really enjoy all of their work and would happily/proudly buy/display work from any of them. but who knows if any of it will stand the test of time. Luckily that's not the most important thing for me when collecting. And I don't ever claim to have very refined taste in art.

Eric Pause ๐จ๐ฆ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by brazzy on May 31, 2018 20:29:43 GMT 1, I think ultimately all these pricing discussions were thoroughly considered. Considering that this print is 19 colors, which is pretty complex in my understand, justifies a high price. The recent Cleon is half the price as Summer Skin 3, slightly smaller, but has 19 times as many colors. Similarly the recent Pose print was 21 colors and was $500. Both of these scenarios have other variables like notoriety of the artist and/or previous print sales that have allowed them to dial in their programs. With this being the first for Eric (and hopefully not the last) it stands as a way to test a new market. He can always come down in price and dial it in, but I think it would be more of a dedurant to increase the prices, like other artists have done. Id personally rather see Eric get the money than leave $100 on the table to be flipped for. Right?! I have no doubt that this will sell out sooner than later and has given Eric a lot of great exposure. Everyone who purchased one of these will be blown away by the quality of the image, paper, and printing process. I'm thankful that he didn't cut any corners on his first big print release.

Kaws Print, Figure, Canvas, WANTED, by brazzy on May 25, 2018 17:28:43 GMT 1, Someone else said the grey astro boy hammered at $2,500 plus fees. Not sure about the rest. Thanks! Saw a normal astro hit over 5k euro at auction the other day. Rather steep! I sold my astroboy 5-6 years ago to buy a resting place. Kind of feeling dumb about that move now. Never letting go of another piece of my kaws collection again.

Beyond the streets LA 2018, by brazzy on May 10, 2018 18:19:13 GMT 1, Very exciting line up. With Gastman at the helm, you can pretty much guarantee Banksy will also be participating in some way shape or form. Updated List http://instagr.am/p/BicgFHZAgq_ Roger Gastman was one of my favorite parts of Exit through the gift shop and I love all the artists that represents. This scene is def lucky to have someone like him in it.

OS Gomeos is just one dude that moves back and forth so incredibly fast, such that it appears to be two identical twins. total conspiracy. it's just one dude.
