The Connor Brothers 🇬🇧 Mike Snelle & James Golding, by balibob on Oct 17, 2014 10:34:44 GMT 1, Just caught up with this, thanks Wizzy. I met Mike in 2009, seemed a nice guy, never met Golding but I can remember the huge threads about his activities, so I wouldn't want to. If I had bought a piece of Connor bros art it would be because I liked it enough to put it on my wall. I normally wouldn't be the slightest bit interested in the backstory as that has absolutely no bearing as to whether I buy a piece or not. For me, art is a visual thing and I usually have no interest what so ever in the artists thought processes or inspirations in constructing the piece, and if you found out it was just 2 other dudes and the Connor bros was just a front, for me that wouldn't have been a problem.
However, I would hate to monetarily support a person with Golding's background, and it is quite possible that someone who got ripped by him could have bought a Connor bros artwork totally unaware who their money was going to. I sincerely hope that the thieving bastard has developed a conscience and repays everyone he owes from his previous exploits. Fat chance.

''Dad, is that girl going to die?''

The husband replies ' I walked into the room, she was lying there naked on the table, what was I supposed to do?'
She screams ' The autopsy Harold, the autopsy'.

Hanging Framed Prints, by balibob on Oct 10, 2014 9:55:00 GMT 1, My usual method is to guess the height, bank a couple of wall hooks into the wall, hang the picture, get the misses to check it's ok, then wait for the fucking thing to fall off the wall sometime later, usually in the middle of the night, cry, take it to the framers for repair or reframe, possibly repeat the previous steps, then usually drill the wall, plug and screw as I should have done in the first place, hang the picture and spend 10 minutes ''straightening'' each picture every night. I must admit that the above suggestions sound a lot better.

Isis

Isis, by balibob on Oct 8, 2014 10:24:36 GMT 1, Scoobie, I'm sure your sentiments will endear to too a few of the members on here and piss off an equal number who take the opposite view. I'm pretty much in Iamzero's camp on this, in that I don't think I am clever enough to see a solution, unfortunately I can't see anyone else around who is at the moment either.
I generally try to see, and try to understand all points of view in most discussions, but sometimes you have to make an exception. When I heard the news that that Alan Henning had been beheaded, I got incredibly angry, and was convinced that it would 'kick off' over here between the radicals on both sides. The following morning I listened to one of the Imam's from his home town who had campaigned for Alan's release, being interviewed by one of the news channels. Like decent people everywhere, he was outraged at what had happened and distanced himself, Arabs and his religion from the murderers who are carrying out these atrocities.
What he said, and what I agree with, is that this not about religion. It is about a large group of people who round up anyone who doesn't conform exactly to their way of thinking and murders them, wholesale, without compassion and without mercy, regardless of race, sex, age or religion.
They won't listen, negotiate or compromise, but they will eventually run out of bullets. The only problem is, how many more people are we, in the first world , and I grimace as I type that, prepared to see murdered until that happens.
If anyone at this point, comments on my little rant and tries to bring in what the British, Americans, Israel, Palestinians, French, Crusaders, Mongols, Romans etc have done in the past or present, I think I will throw up all over my keyboard.

Interesting Times..., by balibob on Oct 3, 2014 13:18:17 GMT 1, I've just spent 5 minutes reading this thread and by the time I had got to the end I had forgotten what the first post was about. Banksy has a five inch p***s and Invader was more popular than a free bar or something. I'll just stick to scrolling through and liking everything that Wizzy gives the thumbs up to, just to feel I am contributing.

Yes or No, by balibob on Sept 18, 2014 10:30:12 GMT 1, I see Braveheart is now on continuous loop on all TV stations north of Carlisle. What about the millions of Scots who live in England? I hope if the vote is yes, that we insist that they finally learn to speak English. My best mate is a Glaswegian, cant understand a fcuking word he says until he's had 3 pints and calms down to a frenzy.

Last artwork of Mister brainwah In NY, by balibob on Sept 16, 2014 9:19:56 GMT 1, I really don't agree with all this censorship. People can and should be lauded, ignored or in some cases , taken to task for what they write, not deleted just because someone finds it offensive. I thought the internet was somewhere where everything could be discussed free of political correctness and big brother type interference. So much for free speech.
