Sandra Chevrier - 5 originals (watercolors, wood-mount), by ksn on Jun 16, 2021 4:39:22 GMT 1, Batman likely sold but size is 19'' x 24''.
Paper are all 14"x17". She did a series of these, all the same size in 2013 or so. They're usually a bit wavy due to watercolor.

Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by ksn on Mar 19, 2017 20:27:08 GMT 1, Can someone please explain to me why all of his prints have that annoying legal disclaimer at the bottom? I have not bought any of his work purely because of this. Why are they there?! I suppose they're viewed more as merchandise than 'fine art'. But as his practise largely revolves around blurring the boundaries between the two that's not necessarily a bad thing. Wouldn't surprise me if even his megabucks blue chip work has little Kaikai Kiki copyright notices on them somewhere The prints from Kaikaikiki don't have disclaimers on them.

Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by ksn on Nov 15, 2016 11:59:07 GMT 1, Was actually curious about this too. I was looking to pick up some of his prints from earlier this year, and had reached out to the gallery but had no response. Any help / insights would be appreciated. I just had a reply from them yesterday, saying no prints were available at this time. I don't know what that means exactly, but they also cc'd someone at Kaikaikiki, so hopefully there might be some other reply soon. I'll let you know! I think this is what I was referring to in my post. Even though they didn't sell out the prints, they state it's not on sale until (if) they re-announced it. I would just stop by Nakano Broadway and ask the person at the counter.

Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by ksn on Nov 15, 2016 1:36:45 GMT 1, How do you order them? I've seen that you can only order them if you are in the gallery in person. Was actually curious about this too. I was looking to pick up some of his prints from earlier this year, and had reached out to the gallery but had no response. Any help / insights would be appreciated. You have to order in the gallery and they only ship within Japan. I was told over email that they only sold prints in waves (so earlier prints that didn't sell out wouldn't be for sale until announced), but at the gallery they had a binder full of older prints as well and I had no problem purchasing those.

Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by ksn on Nov 8, 2016 8:41:02 GMT 1, To be fair, I also passed on the posters due to the price. I did not see the description when I was ordering. Price seemed too low to be screen printed at first glance.

Sandra Chevrier Artwork, VALUATION , by ksn on Sept 14, 2015 9:16:09 GMT 1, I think this is the only one she's done using Playboy - not everyone's cup of tea I guess but I love it... When I talked to her a couple years ago, she mentioned she did a couple of them but not many. Here's another:

Kaws, by ksn on Nov 25, 2014 5:34:51 GMT 1, You could also look into the originalfake figures as a cheap entry point. For the price of a print, you could get several of these to put around the kids room (astroboy, woodstock, etc are all kind of cute)

Ian Francis - Endless Summers - The Outsiders London, by ksn on Nov 20, 2014 23:15:22 GMT 1, Thanks. I've been tracking his pieces for his last few shows and the color paintings were always out of my range because of the size. The ones I were able to choose from were always black and white studies or sketches. This time around, there seems to be a lot of smaller paintings so I was finally able to score a piece

SANDRA CHEVRIER PRINT RELEASE C.O.A GALLERY, by ksn on Nov 20, 2014 19:22:49 GMT 1, I might be generalising here but all those on ebay are from the USA. Suggests Expresso Beaners to me. Unlikely, there's been no discussion about the release since I brought it up several days ago.
I missed the drop too, but I was on the fence about it anyways

SANDRA CHEVRIER PRINT RELEASE C.O.A GALLERY, by ksn on Nov 20, 2014 10:43:46 GMT 1, From what I've read about Sanra the reason she makes these pieces is a commentary on the objectification of women, my question is where does she go from here? I saw the hands piece, and the faces pieces, and now the whole body pieces with all varying bits covered in collage. Certainly an interesting idea when she started a few years back, but it hasn't seem to have evolved. It seems it's only been an year and a half since she's started with the comics and while it's still on theme, it has been consistently refined. You bring it up as if it's been half a decade, but the body and hand pieces are fairly recent evolutions. I'm excited to see how things start changing up.
Maybe I'm missing something, but my problem with this release and with some of her more recent (body) pieces is that the commentary feels weak. With the face collages, she easily creates a link between the censorship of sight and voice with the comic strip's perception of gender roles. I do see a similar message in this release but it's not as apparent. The lady on her knees looks more like she's ready to please than she is being oppressed.

Ian Francis - Endless Summers - The Outsiders London, by ksn on Nov 20, 2014 9:25:43 GMT 1, I don't frequent these forums, but I really should considering there's little to no discussion of Francis or similar artists on the other forums.
I received the preview for this show well after the opening and was surprised some of the better pieces were still available. I picked up this piece, "Sleeping Field"
