BAST Artwork, VALUATION, by Street Art Fan on Feb 9, 2017 5:20:03 GMT 1, Thanks for that. They don't seem to come up too often considering the edition size. It's underrated. It's one of his best IMO, and the composition is much more pleasing then the jumbled colleges he's known for (although I'd love me an Old Spice). The glitter ones are nice too, if you don't mind paying a little extra. Huge Bast fan here. I realize that I'm in the minority, but I don't like Mickey much. Although the different hand-finished variations are appealing, the composition as a whole seems flat and lacks depth. There's too much empty white space bordering the image that could have been better utilized. To be honest, I prefer the jumbled collages: they're inspired, well conceived -- and full of surprises. I always discover something new each time I look at Creme Fresh or The Nose.

Any NFL Fans?, by Street Art Fan on Feb 7, 2017 0:27:53 GMT 1, Great game, can't believe the Patriots came back into it, Atlanta must be kicking themselves today. It's almost as if Belichick's biggest strength is making opposing coaches over think their game plan and doubt their ability to win down the stretch. Atlanta was up by 8 and on NE's 23 yard line with a little over 3 minutes to go. Why not run it 3 times and kick a FG? They most likely would've won if they hadn't attempted to pass. Instead, they ended up getting pushed back to midfield, well out of FG range.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Street Art Fan on Aug 20, 2016 6:18:30 GMT 1, Brilliant. I've always loved Kevin Cyr's work. It's a shame that he doesn't get more exposure on this forum. Excess exposure is not always a good thing but then I have always been extremely wary of hype and overnight success stories. When it comes to artists I'll take quiet and steady to loud and fast any day of the week. But, yeah, Kevin is pretty low profile, very rarely shows work outside the U.S., and doesn't release too many prints, so I suppose there is not a huge amount to discuss. I think he is quite fantastic though.. Your points are well taken. But I wonder if Kevin, or anyone else who makes art for a living, feels the same way? Does he not want more people to know about (and purchase) his work? What exactly would be the danger for him if he had more - not "excess" (your word) - exposure, beginning with this forum?

Artists' Influences, by Street Art Fan on Aug 3, 2016 16:05:31 GMT 1, Great thread! A few questions...
I always thought Blek le Rat was a major influence on Banksy. I'm curious why he isn't mentioned?
Also, what sources are you using? Have the street artists that you've listed acknowledged that these forebears influenced their work?
