Stik in the Guardian, by hippychick on Aug 14, 2015 12:54:24 GMT 1, So glad I made it down for this. Really long queue but managed to get one of each colour print signed for myself as well as two copies for friends. Oh, and I got a little doodle in one of my books - happy days!
Stik must have been shattered after the event but he did a great job of looking after everyone who'd queued for so long.

Rone 🇭🇲 Melbourne Street Artist • Tyrone Wright, by hippychick on Aug 7, 2015 10:57:26 GMT 1, There's not a lot of love for Rone on here. Which is a shame as the man has real talent. Whats nice about this print is that its a screen print, whereas in my experience with any Rone release they are Gilcees. So I like to think a bit more effort has gone into this. I personally like the image, but I have too many females up on my walls at the mo. My wife will get annoyed if I stick another one up. I thought that most of his releases, with the exception of "Too Close to See" and "Miami Dreams" have been screen prints. I've got 5 of his prints and only one is a giclee (Too Close to See) - and his last 2 public releases, "Global Street Art Story" and "Hydrangea" were definitely screen prints.
I agree about him having talent and it is a shame that he doesn't get more love for his work. It is a very big edition size on this one though compared to previous releases.

STIK New book due on 30th July :-) :-), by hippychick on Jul 26, 2015 17:38:11 GMT 1, I saw on facebook there will be a limited edition with a lithograph print in. I have pre-order this so will mine come with a print? or is the limited edition just for the launch? You should get the print with the pre-order as it's with all copies of the first edition and not just those available at the signing.
"The first edition hardback has over 200 heavy gloss pages and is bound in lush red canvas with two colour foil details. Each copy contains an exclusive, limited edition lithograph print available in one of three colours". stik.org/news/stikbooklaunch.html

Dodgy pieces on Ebay, by hippychick on May 17, 2015 20:53:56 GMT 1, Noticed a Shep Fairey print at 99p with a couple of minutes left. Listed as signed by the artist. SHEPARD FAIREY Obey Giant Face 1 SIGNED RARE art Looking at their history they have sold loads of stuff stating it's signed and even have some Lego Banksy stated as signed straight from the artist. How do these people get away with it? It says that the lego print is by an artist called Bricksy (not banksy) - bought direct from the artist and signed on the back.
The Obey isn't rare - still available on Obey Giant obeygiant.com/store/product.php?productid=8
$50 for the set of 3 signed open edition. The seller has some of these at £50 so the 99p no reserve starting point will just be a loss leader

Rone 🇭🇲 Melbourne Street Artist • Tyrone Wright, by hippychick on May 14, 2015 21:35:43 GMT 1, Just got home to find Royal Mail failed delivery slip with a request for customs charges of £33.80 some Galleries and Artists are right wankers do they really need to declare full value got a Bisser delivered last week with Zero charges. It's a print for f**ksake. If you haven't paid the charges yet, kel, the first thing you need to do, is call the parcelforce depot to find out what was written on the tube - if it's the Rone print it should say something like hand pulled limited edition screenprint tariff code 9702 00 00 00. When that's confirmed you need to contact HMRC customs and get them to contact border force to get the VAT reduced from 20% to 5% and they'll issue you with revised charges. Use 0300 200 3300 and say import VAT when the system asks the reason for your call.
If it is from Australia but the tube's not marked as I described let me know and I'll play merry hell with Dangerfork! Border force won't adjust the payment as it's not their mistake but you can still claim back the VAT overcharge using this form www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-customs-dutyimport-vat-relating-to-imports-by-post-bor286
It can take a couple of months this way but it's worth doing.
To be fair to Dangerfork though they did say that they were shipping insured for the full value and that was why shipping was pricey.
Let me know if you need any more info on challenging the VAT amount - there's a lot of stuff on EB that's useful forum.Expressobeans/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=85994

Shipping should start in the next couple of days for anyone who's in the commission.

Tabby 🇦🇹 Street Art • New Print Release , by hippychick on Apr 14, 2015 23:21:35 GMT 1, Anybody in the UK still waiting for their print?? Mine arrived today in the UK. Tracking showed a bit of a delay at the US end from label being printed to it ending up in the system but once it hit the UK (11th) it was pretty quick.

paypal question, by hippychick on Apr 11, 2015 10:15:24 GMT 1, I don't think they can change the address after payment has been made. To be covered by seller protection "You must ship the item to the shipping address on the Transaction Details Page". PayPal User Agreement
As Jimmy said, if they want it shipping to a different address then they need to cancel the payment and then pay again with the correct address on the payment. It's really easy to add an address to PayPal so they shouldn't have a problem with that. If they do, I'd have second thoughts about selling to them!

Hanging in Rented Accomodation, by hippychick on Apr 8, 2015 13:04:32 GMT 1, I'm in the minority on this one but I have used them on framed prints 18x24 and under - always use 4 strips per print and haven't had any problems apart from one time when I didn't press the strips together hard enough.
Prints have been up in this house for 2 1/2 years so far - on painted walls only, would never use them on wallpaper
I do use picture hooks for larger pics and hangman picture hangers for mirrors and super large prints / OGs Hangman

What do you drive? , by hippychick on Mar 22, 2015 16:49:34 GMT 1, Thank you :-)
No, I don't so I try forward plan for open air pay and display instead of multi-stories where I have to do the little run around the car. Small price to pay though.

What do you drive? , by hippychick on Mar 22, 2015 16:36:21 GMT 1, ... the new mustang is available in Right Hand drive I know - was just looking at them online this morning but I'm so used to left hand drive it'd feel wrong! Plus it's fun having other drivers looking over to see there's no-one in the "driver's" seat and then looking over again to see it's a girl driving :-)

What do you drive? , by hippychick on Mar 22, 2015 14:36:55 GMT 1, 2006 Mustang. Daily drive with a 50 mile round trip commute. I agree with Wilson - this cost about the same as a new family car and I love the fact that it turns more heads than a lot of supercars that have cost considerably more. (helps that I'm in the UK and there aren't that many on the road though)

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by hippychick on Feb 22, 2015 18:15:46 GMT 1, Found one picture from the show on my phone - must have caught it just before the battery died. Not much love for the cleaning lady in the pics on here but I love the expression on her face.
Sorry the quality is so bad - not only was my phone battery about to die, it's also seriously old school (Nokia N96 8GB!!)

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by hippychick on Feb 19, 2015 22:53:27 GMT 1, Managed to get there today - based in Yorkshire but a short notice piece of work meant that I could get down to London. I am so chuffed that I got to see the pieces in real life. It was wierdly emotional (before you say it, I'm a girl so....) but I'm so glad I made it. It was also refreshing that it was pretty much all about the art, and not flipper central. I'm a very happy bunny to have been part of this experience.
Looking forward to pics from the closing night.
Oh and my phone died so no pics from my vist but along with the memories, I did get a flyer. Yeay!

Question for US based collectors regarding currency...., by hippychick on Feb 19, 2015 8:37:28 GMT 1, I agree with listing in £, particularly if that's the currency that the transaction will end up in. You can set it up to display in different currencies if that helps the buyer to understand the cost better. Seen that on a few sites but there's an explanation on shopify docs.shopify.com/support/settings/general/can-i-use-multiple-currencies-in-my-store
