Banksy โข Sale Ends Today, by WOOF on Feb 15, 2018 5:36:09 GMT 1, Just checking, did I miss something? These arenโt even close to being in the same ballpark correct? Wouldnโt you need to trade 2 sale ends for a signed laugh now? At this moment in time (without a coa) Iโd tend to agree. No harm in asking and seeing what someone with a laugh Now would be willing to do trade wise. IMO, when SE2 gets a COA, it still won't be even close to a signed LN.

Blek Le Rat โข The Warrior, by WOOF on Feb 14, 2018 18:23:13 GMT 1, After the Apocalypse, IMHO, was too over the top. I love when Blek keeps the image simple with a powerful message. Really, I thought it was very poignant in highlighting the impacts of social media and self-absorption in our society today. One of my favorites on the wall, sits between a couple Fairey pieces, Wake Up & Church of Consumption.... IMO you're giving a whole lot of credit to an incredibly tired concept. Google selfie street art, and you'll see what I mean.
To me, ATA is basically the Tony Blair selfie in stencil form, but with a rat, no?

Kehinde Wileyโs Official Portrait of Obama, by WOOF on Feb 13, 2018 23:17:56 GMT 1, I just want to point out that this is the official portrait for the Smithsonian, NOT the White House. I also got confused earlier. The one he'll have in the White House will be different. The ones of past presidents shown in that IG photo are the White House ones. If you check out the Smithsonian portraits of those presidents, they all are vastly stylized by relevant artists of that time (Ex. Elaine De Kooning's official Smithsonian portrait of JFK).
Bill's is awesome...

Kehinde Wileyโs Official Portrait of Obama, by WOOF on Feb 13, 2018 0:36:10 GMT 1, Nothing about that story is true... That was his step dad's last name and he was called Barry growing up. He decided to stop the usage of his nickname in college, I think, which the birthers just ran away with it and, and one of 'em somehow became president. Apologies, I meant the Soetoro photoshopped columbia university ID saying he was a foreign student...
^^ that stupidity.

New Pose Print?, by WOOF on Feb 9, 2018 18:21:06 GMT 1, It's almost like you're rooting for him to fail... Antagonizing is a horrible quality. Already stated this particular re print shouldnt be supported in a form of another edition. Love the guys work but greed is not a flattering thing anyone should get behind. No matter how much you like/collect the artist. This particular run is a disgrace and a money grab. I wont support that and neither should you. Imagine you are a graphics designer and was contracted by a company to make them something as simple as a logo. You make the logo and your work is done. You get hired by another company and take the same logo and slap different colors on it and try and sell that to the new company for a more expensive price. Do not think that would go to well. No different with this drop. This re print is even more expensive then the original print. There are huge false equivalence problems here, starting with the fact that graphic designers are contracted to do work for a company, and those contracts state who owns the rights to the work produced - usually the company. Buyers of art have no such agreement, most of the time, and artists almost always retain the rights to their work, allowing them to change and release new versions of images if they so choose.

New Pose Print?, by WOOF on Feb 9, 2018 18:09:24 GMT 1, Iโll ask you same question. Iโm sure you feel the same about banksys sales end rerelease. I believe there are some key differences. If I'm not mistaken, POW mentioned that they were reprinted soon after the first run (I could be wrong about this), they were released a decade later, the newer edition is signed, the signed edition of 500 is a reworked image, whereas POSE simply changes the colors (and in this case the title of the print from DUDE --> GENT), and lastly, the rerelease of prints has become characteristic of POSE, which I do not think can be said for Banksy. With that said, I think a collector should be cognizant of the possibilty that POSE will reprint an image.
Did banksy not print girl with balloon AP's in different colors after the fact? And Choose Your Weapon AP's?
Or were those all printed at the same time? Seriously asking, because I don't know.
Same for murakami, because a large majority of his prints look exactly the same but are different shapes or colors.

David Shrigley - Be Nice, by WOOF on Feb 8, 2018 20:07:07 GMT 1, It sounds like a bad case of โregretsโ at not picking it up in the 1st or 2nd/3rd tiers. I'm sorry, but this BS gets tossed around on here far too often. Just because someone doesn't like a print, or it's price, it doesn't mean they're just jealous they didn't get it when it was cheap.
But it's a convenient argument for someone who wants to ensure the value stays up because there's no way to "prove" it's not the case.

David Shrigley - Be Nice, by WOOF on Feb 8, 2018 18:58:58 GMT 1, They canโt even claim this is to combat the flipper market. Just f**kinggreed. I hope they choke... Micallef market anyone. If I had any Shrigley's, I'd be offloading them right now while the hype is high.
And please, none of that "modern art = i could do that + yeah but you didn't." Because first off, modern art is period specific and this is about 50 years too late, and second, I'd bet most kids have done something exactly like, and probably in 3rd grade. Or 2nd form, for you brits.

David Shrigley - Be Nice, by WOOF on Feb 8, 2018 1:56:10 GMT 1, Iโm thinking about the starting price, steep or reasonable, Fantastic from 2016 just went for ยฃ4,750, there is clearly strong demand, his reputation solid and growing, if the starting price turns out to be ยฃ1,800, 20% member discount = ยฃ1,440, a third of latest hammer price, is that not a bargain? One auction result does not a market value make.
Let's see some sustained results, then we'll talk.

New Pose Print?, by WOOF on Feb 7, 2018 4:11:11 GMT 1, I don't get this. If you're a fan of Pose, you know he does originals in different color ways as well... So your comparing originals in diff colorways to prints or even comparing them to Hpms? Come on now. You know better. 1/1 or even x/8 with his HPMS are fine because of the limited edition size or because its an OG. I have been collecting Pose since he was making Hello Kitty art from his pop up show (I bought for my niece). >> Not sure I get this logic. You're not OK with the people who spend 600+ bucks on a print having to deal with a different color way, but you're fine with it when the person is spending 6k-25k+ on an original? Shouldn't it be the opposite? Print buyers are on the low end of the totem pole, that's just how it goes. And that's the same for every artist.
ANYONE would be pissed at an artist who keeps selling the same damn image in reprints. This is why artists like Eelus fell off hype and value wise. Same crap Eelus did and got burned with seems to be spreading. >>Eelus falling off has a lot more to do with the mediocre art than it does reprinting things.Plenty of naive people buying buying and buying some more. I am not one of them. Its called being smart. Plus, his "landscape" new-ish prints are not my cup of tea. Burn, Blot, Dude were his best imo. As a collector of all of those YES. I am pissed as well about this reprint. Changing the color and trying to tell me that makes it ok is silly. Tell that to people who bought the original image or had to spend much more then cost on an image they "THOUGHT" was an edition of 100. Not hard to make diff images. Problem is, Pose has seemed to go away from what made him so popular. Hence why he keeps trying to sell the reprinted images of what was his most popular selling images to date. Just more proof. >>I own the original first Dude print. I'm not crying about this release, nor am I concerned because I thought I was buying an edition of 100, because that's exactly what I received.
Also, what made him popular with print buyers before might not be sustainable. He needs to do what makes him popular to people who buy originals. You seem upset because you don't like the direction he's going in. That happens sometimes, it's just how art is. But he continues to sell his work without issue, so maybe you just have a different opinion of what makes Jordan's work good.

BAST Piggy, by WOOF on Feb 7, 2018 4:01:41 GMT 1, I don't think they're downplaying, but rather, not hyping. Here's the most recent Bast auction results... Not exactly earth shattering. Mickey regular version out of 100 sold for $1900 at auction. People on here complain when that same print is being sold for more then $800-$900. Don't believe me? Go look up Bast Mickey threads on here. IF someone could get $1900 or even $1500 for the regular Bast - Mickey version on here, you would see people coming out of the wood works to sell them. Problem is this board is ALL about down playing artists so that they can get a better deal or a steal. God forbid someone asks for a price that THEY think its worth for them to sell it. For all you know this guy bought this print for that price framed and all. I would not sell it for any less either. These other prints on this specific auction were never popular. Finster and Mickey are the only ones that should be talked about in this auction. Look, I don't own any bast so I don't have any invested interest in keeping the price up or down. But the fact is, that auction house listed that particular mickey as a "rare one-off," which many people, myself included, felt bordered on deceptive listing practices. Had it been listed properly, who knows where it would have hammered.
And you're right, for all we know "this guy bought this print for that price framed and all." But for all we know, he also bought it for a whole lot less. And if we can't assume it's one way, then we can't assume it's the other.

BAST Piggy, by WOOF on Feb 6, 2018 23:48:36 GMT 1, I find it funny that people keep down playing Basts value. His new prints don't even compare to his old ones. Inflation is real and its what people will pay for it. You see that in his auctions now a days which his older prints are selling for $2k-4k. Imagine what his OGS go for in auction. His old prints like this one imo are worth much more then anything he drops now with his new-ish style. Why even waste your time selling this beauty here? Contact one of the auctions and make 3-4x the money then on here. People will drag anything/anyone under the mud for a deal. I don't think they're downplaying, but rather, not hyping.

New Pose Print?, by WOOF on Feb 6, 2018 23:34:08 GMT 1, I'm a huge Pose fan, been collecting his prints since the first Blot release, but I'm not a fan of him re-releasing previous pieces in new colorways. IMO, he needs to slow down his release schedule and stop the reprints. He's got so many pieces to choose from, why revisit old stuff? This is unfortunately why I stopped collecting Pose. Tired of the same image that I loved to be turned into diff color ways a year later. Whats the point of buying a print that is going to be reprinted in a diff color way next year. No thanks. He has been doing this for a 1-2 years now. Shame. This was my gripe way back then and it fell on deaf ears because of his buzz. I don't get this. If you're a fan of Pose, you know he does originals in different color ways as well...

Harland Miller โข Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by WOOF on Jan 31, 2018 1:20:17 GMT 1, Scared people might realize you have multiple accounts and are a dirty flipping flippper? And I chose to remove myself as an FG, which all the other current and former FGโs can attest to. But thanks for playing, buddy. Multiple accounts, dirty flipper? Assumptions mabey? So your saying youโve never flipped anything for a profit? I highly doubt that sir. Anyways if you want to know my IP address Iโd be happy to share it with you in PM since your so infatuated on finding people that sell to make a profit and desperately need to find out if they have multiple accounts. ๐ and thanks for playing? I believe the only game your playing is with yourself. Again you miss the point. Big difference between keeping something for a while and then choosing to sell, and buying for the express purpose of quickly reselling. Have a good day.
