Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Feb 11, 2022 19:11:56 GMT 1, you do realise no one will sell below cost? Are you aware that many people bought into The Currency towards, during or just after its peak and later sold it at a massive loss? There are lots of people with large amounts of crypto that they bought for almost nothing that take a gamble on every NFT released and bail just to reinvest it elsewhere.
I wonder if those handful of people who paid over £100k have resold. do we know? If I was a bit more savvy I know I could check on the blockthingy.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Feb 7, 2022 18:12:25 GMT 1, Thanks michaeldee I stand corrected.
That onion dart piece is not very good, I've seen a few on ebay over the years, with a fresh onion of course. Which brings up the old debate of is it the same piece of art, if you change the onion? Or replacing a rotting shark in The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living?

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Feb 7, 2022 12:01:22 GMT 1, I've seen Hirst The Magnificent Seven go for less than retail many times, it's the 7 screenprinted ping pong balls, in a signed box, Gagosian was still selling them for £1k last year, but they pop up for less. Quite an old piece now, the balls get discoloured (so to speak), looks dated.
That said I think these were originally invites, so maybe they were free, and Gagosian sold the remainder.

If you search Hirst Empresses you'll find 9 or 10. The undercutting is starting, lowest I've seen is £8k at the moment.

Wanted Stik books & poster UK , by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 31, 2022 12:21:29 GMT 1, Surprised to see a signed book with and unsigned yellow poster (slightly marked) sell for £460 from an eBay auction this morning. Have they increased in value that much? What is a signed poster selling for? I did see a gallery in Brighton trying to sell Signed Stik book posters for 2k each, don't know if they sold, last time I walked past they had the Banksy Bristol Museum posters for £2k each, so I take their pricing with a pinch of salt.
Item no. 165288486423

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 20:10:30 GMT 1, They are *not* NFTs. That is why Heni are not calling them NFTs. I give up. You are just flat out wrong. Heni is 100% calling them NFT’s. They issue you an NFT on the blockchain. From Heni : “These are utility NFTs provided by HENI which serve the specific purpose of delaying receipt of the physical and enabling ease of trading. There are no additional utilities or perks associated with this type of NFT”. But it’s an NFT no matter how you slice it.
But it sounds like after 3 years you would be just be left with a token on the blockchain. What would be the value of that? I haven't seen it say that you get a high quality downloadable image of the print or anything like that. With The Currency you have an extremely high quality image front and back, which you can print how you wish. The great expe tations also provided a high quality downloadable image.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 17:44:08 GMT 1, Someone who has redeemed the physical currency must be able to confirm what additional charges they had to pay. I'm sure there are a few people on here who have done that.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 16:30:50 GMT 1, to be fair my statement was conjecture, I assume that the person who redeems the physical pays Vat, because it definitely isn't charged on the nft at point of purchase, but definitely is added to the physical at point of purchase, as is p&p. As for taxes, import duty etc. it's in the extended FAQ heni-support.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/categories/4418126950289-HENI-EditionsIt's very unclear, I can't see anything explicitly saying that the redeemer of the deed pays VAT. All I know for sure is VAT isn't added when you buy the NFT and it is for the physical. From Discord, not sure it's any clearer, however it doesn't rule out paying vat on redemption day.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 15:56:06 GMT 1, The redeemer of the physical pays the Vat. Thinking this through, it could be quite a lot of faffing about if you are not someone who is into crypto / NFTs, changing money to crypto to buy the deed, to then go through the redeem process with heni and pay the Vat and p&p. If you miss this drop it would probably be easier to find someone selling a physical copy and know what your total cost will be off the bat. State your source please.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 14:41:07 GMT 1, It seems that you don't pay VAT on the NFT and also don't have to pay VAT when you exchange for physical (assuming it's like the Currency). So basically just buy the NFT and exchange for physical shortly after and save yourself some money I guess I like the images, think there will be quite a few of them though That's not the case. Sorry. Basically, because this time it is not a proper NFT. It's what they call an NFT deed (which isn't really an NFT). The FAQs clearly state that you will have to pay tax.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 29, 2022 19:12:13 GMT 1, I'm actually allergic to Glitter (true) and being a long suffering Spurs fan, I'm no fan of 'Red' either! Perhaps an NFT for me then ..?? Unless they do a non-glitter B&W version?
I have to say the red does take me back to being a painter and decorator and spending a day painting a room a similar shade of red with a psychopath whilst he blared Captain Beefheart out of a small tinny portable tape deck. So I don't find these very calming.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 29, 2022 18:48:58 GMT 1, There is chat on the currency Discord of selling one currency, and buying a full set of these (as NFT tokens presumably). Interesting idea.
Probably wouldn't get quite enough to buy a full set currently but not too far off.

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 29, 2022 8:14:39 GMT 1, You can’t redeem the physical print after window closed. But does the NFT still exist and supported? And will the matching physical copy be destroyed like the currency? No - it is not an NFT of the Artwork. It is an NFT time-limited deed - after three years it will still be their on the palm blockchain but be obsolete. You are buying the right to collect one physical piece later (upto three years). After that your deed expires. Heni keep your allocation to sell to some other sucker. This will be the third time DH and Heni laugh all the way to the bank. Lots of NFT guys don’t want the hassle of storing a 1.4meter square wooden crate. They will have made money and written of the physical. Heni will have thousands of unclaimed editions to add to the pile of plastic and industrial waste choking the planet. God I really am on a rant - apologies.
I was wondering if they would only print on demand. They could have a pile of signed stickers ready to apply, but only make the physical copies once X number of orders are made. Could that work? Guess it might not be cost effective. Otherwise there is going to be a warehouse full of these things somewhere.
It's probably stated elsewhere in his thread but the NHS and Fruitful/forever prints only had printed signatures stuck on the back (although you wouldn't believe it if you look at the ebay listing), whereas this is an actual signature by the sound of things.
