Election to be held on 12 December , by sameoldthing on Dec 13, 2019 1:32:47 GMT 1, How’s the forum Labour Corbyn supporters feeling at the moment ? Will the exit poll be right and the party obliterated ?
If it goes the way they forecast. The country will be it a bigger sh1t state that it's in now. Tories winning all the seats where the factories will shut down come Brexit!

The one that got away, by sameoldthing on Dec 9, 2019 17:42:24 GMT 1, I do think about this! The people who walked passed or looked and did not buy something from the stall in NYC. It could have been worse you could have been the owner of the stall next door sitting there all day. But it proved it's point no one's bothered!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by sameoldthing on Nov 12, 2019 17:16:02 GMT 1, I am still so so confused by this whole GDP thing. The items being sold are one of three categories. Utter tat that you could buy at Camden Market (tees, mugs, spray can etc) or items that you would expect to see at an art show or gallery but not for your usual casual art fan /collector (TV, rug, CCTV cameras, vest etc.) and then the 2 prints. This just doesn't feel very 'Banksy' at all... Is there something I am missing here? I am really struggling to see how Banksy would be happy to put his name to and then openly sell some of the crap on that website, specifically referring to the shredded t shirt and mug and the other t shirts. I get that it's meant to be a dig at the type of people who buy the knock off tat from market stalls, but then why sell it yourself and put your name to it? It really doesn't make sense to me :/ If Banksy really had to sell items commercially for trademark reasons then why not just do a limited edition print lottery twice a year through the website? This would fulfill the legal requirements, limit the amount of reselling and maintain the Banksy image as an elusive artist with high personal standards for what he represents as an artist. This whole GDP thing just feels like its taken away a lot of Banksys artistic integrity imo. I have 2 possible answers to my musings: 1) the collective behind Banksy and the art have had a disagreement in direction, and some of the Banksy crew went ahead with the GDP store as a cash grab (assuming Banksy is more than one man as many people suggest) 2) there is another twist in the GDP tale and it has all been a slight of hand. Might we see the unlimited items actually extremely limited? (this still doesn't explain why Banksy would be happy putting his name to some of the rubbish being sold) Thoughts?
Just something for everyone!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by sameoldthing on Nov 10, 2019 11:01:47 GMT 1, Apologies to all. I wasn’t trying to stir things up yesterday but as some may have gathered, I was a tad annoyed at having wasted my time on the GDP lottery. It began with the “extract” of the s**t list that was posted on page 337 of this thread with my username listed. It might not be the real s**t list, however, such a list has been spoken of on here ever since I’ve been a member and probably before that time. Team Banksy baring a grudge against some members wouldn’t sit well with his image, so I doubt they’d ever admit to having such a list. But there is more than likely a s**t list they have compiled. What’s more, they won’t tell you why you are on the list or how you can get off the list. Also, admitting that they have a list of preferred clients wouldn’t fit with the Banksy image either, but at least they’ve been more transparent about that through letting lots of people jump queues in the old days, the VIP editions and the not so secret “secret” print releases (Dumbo, Love Hurts etc.). Returning to GDP, the problem with the disappointing shopping experience is that they don’t tell you the real reason for why it will be disappointing. The real reasons are possibly that if you’re on the s**t list then you’re automatically disqualified, if you’re on the preferred list then you’re more than likely going to get something and if you’re just a regular member of the public then you stand a very remote chance of getting the scraps from the friends table. Some of those scraps will have some meat on them but you won’t ever get a piece of steak. Now, importantly from the point of view of making work available to the public, does the above model give the Banksy trade mark the protection that it was seeking to achieve through the use of an online shop? His lawyers seem to think so but I suspect that it could be open to challenge if it is proven that this is nothing more than a sham lottery, which promoted plenty but delivered nothing to people on the s**t list and very little to the general public. There’s been plenty in the press about GDP but I’ve not seen a single story in the media about some regular housewife having her name drawn in prize in the lottery. Isn’t that a bit odd in this day and age? I know people are going to say I’m paranoid and equally I could say those people are in denial. But read Casual’s first post on page 351 and tell me, objectively, if you think he comes across as somebody who has just won an amazing prize against the odds, or somebody who was trying to justify winning a prize.
You're Paranoid!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by sameoldthing on Oct 23, 2019 15:19:26 GMT 1, Truly sickening news. 39 souls have lost their lives, unimaginable what the conditions in that lorry must have been and what now faces the emergency services attending this tragedy. Interesting point regarding how history will judge the 'people smugglers'. Indeed, it was reported in the Press at the time that Alan Kurdi's own father himself was an alleged smuggler. I am sure there are people that are certainly profiteering from these poor souls that find themselves displaced and fleeing for their lives. As well as the huge loss of lives, what sickens me is when I see Trump pulling out troops from Northern Syria, purposefully (?), allowing his buddy Putin to carve up the region with Erdoğan. Time and again we see governments and dictators using their people as mere pawns while the people pay with their lives. What a sad, sad World we live in. Why does humanity matter? Another sad truth about the freedom lorries. I notice the press are straight onto it as a vile act of people smuggling. I do wonder if history will show that a lot of these people were more trying to help people rather than just milk them. So sad that people have been driven to such desperation. By no means a first either, they report the large death tolls, but so many more lose their lives risking this escape.
Trump can leave troops to look after OIL fields! So many countries been f££ked over since time began by the western world... World is run by C##TS

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by sameoldthing on Oct 15, 2019 10:53:57 GMT 1, But originally they where £75 > £150 Why would anybody pay 60k ?? The value of anything has nothing to do with its original cost, only how many people want it now. A lot of people want GWRB.
Did they not like it back then!
