Kaws BFF Plush, by I Woke in Relief on Dec 9, 2016 14:58:59 GMT 1, Could anyone advise what was cost price on the companions? cheers ~$200 (varied a bit due to currency conversion); shipping could get expensive depending on where purchased as well.

DFace โข Union Jacked Print, by I Woke in Relief on Dec 8, 2016 21:24:14 GMT 1, As polymindset said, if you're buying based on "fear of missing out" then you miss the whole point of art. This would be more the way a flipper would think!? That's doesn't really make sense - let's say I'm a D*Face fan, I like his work, but I'm not necessarily going to buy something just because he put it out. If he releases an image in advance I can consider if I want it for some period of time and make an informed decision. On the other hand, with no advance image, I have a very small window of time to decide if I like the image or not; it's entirely possible to be on the fence about something when you first see it. But, for the most part, D*Face's stuff sells out immediately. So, minus just hating the image, I now default to purchasing because it sure as hell beats buying something second hand at a higher price; but I might end up having a print I don't like. Hence, it's not very difficult to buy something in an attempt to "not miss out" without in any way being a flipper.
(this is strictly rhetorical, I'm not interested in trying for this print).

Eelus eBay transaction, by I Woke in Relief on Dec 8, 2016 17:05:53 GMT 1, Sound like great advice, thanks I was also thinking of asking him to send cash as friend/family Am I right in thinking that if he does it can then not be revered to refund him? To answer your immediate question - if they pay via F&F, then they cannot file a claim (well, I think they still can, but it won't end in their favor). But, it depends on the details.
1. If you've got it listed as BIN with Best Offer, and they've offered you 500 as Best Offer, you can't get funds via F&F, only via Goods, if you accept the offer through eBay
2. If you're creating a deal outside of eBay, you can ask for F&fF As a buyer I'd never send funds that way, really no matter how well regarded the seller is (for multiple reasons), but your buyer might be dumb and willing to go that way. In which case you'd have no worries over potential recourse.

Eelus eBay transaction, by I Woke in Relief on Dec 8, 2016 16:21:39 GMT 1, I've just been offered ยฃ500 for an eelus print on eBay. The potential buyer has zero feedback. What's the best way to protect myself from saying it didn't arrive, requestsing a chargeback from PayPal etc? eBay and Paypal do tend to default to the borrower - however, if you follow their procedures for Seller Protection they will side with you (this is assuming you accept a best offer and sell through eBay). As an example - I sold something last month (to a buyer with zero feedback as well). I shipped it with tracking, just as eBay required. After I shipped I added the tracking number to the case. A few days later borrower opened a case stating they didn't receive it. I had to respond - one of the options was to provide a tracking number - I provided the same one, stated it showed delivered, and that they should check with their local PO. They contacted eBay directly asking for the case to be escalated - eBay emailed me and told me they'd have a final determination within 24 hours - and five minutes later I had an email from eBay closing the case in my favor, as I'd provided the tracking prior to the case being opened.
If you really want to protect yourself, spend the extra couple dollars and require signature (not sure if it's required at ยฃ500 or not - check the guidelines - I know in the U.S. eBay only require signature on sales over $750).
Obviously that only covers them stating it was not received. As already noted above, just make sure you well document (through pics) the condition of the print prior to shipping, as well as the packaging you're sending in.

Conor Harrington - Hide and Seek, by I Woke in Relief on Dec 5, 2016 17:17:04 GMT 1, There seems to be a lot of these for sale on eBay and not selling, which would indicate over priced. Wonder what price these will settle at, would really like one but not at those prices. I think s lot of flippers missed the GYG print and they went to fans. Flippers bagged the HAS print so there's a glut for sale. Eh, it was pretty easy to see coming. Both of the prior two CH prints were sold for around $400, and neither went up significantly in value. So when GYG was announced at a relatively high price point, there wasn't any real reason for flippers to stock up. As soon as GYG started going for high prices (since people bought it to keep for the most part, so there weren't many available on the secondary market) it was inevitable that the next release would get bought in high volumes by flippers, which would of course cause this glut in stock we see now. A few flippers sold at high prices, but mostly there isn't the demand at the high prices being asked. It happens on almost every "follow-up" release to a print that did well on the secondary market (see MBW's follow up to "Going to New York" for reference).

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by I Woke in Relief on Nov 30, 2016 18:48:34 GMT 1, Got tickets to go see Kaws speak at the Modern next week! So glad this is happening so close to me. Bummed out, probably can't go to this thanks to some unexpected work commitments.
Anyone in DFW want to go in my place? I have two e-tickets. They have my name on them, but I have to think they're just scanning the barcodes at the door.

Eine "LOVE" Lenticular at ArtRepublic, by I Woke in Relief on Nov 22, 2016 0:43:23 GMT 1, Got my postcard set in the mail - they're really nice, and like a lot of members here have indicated, I'll likely frame them as a set. Not sure if there are any left, but if you're a fan of Eine and want an inexpensive item of his to go on your wall, these are a bargain.

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by I Woke in Relief on Nov 21, 2016 14:40:01 GMT 1, Rootona - I went to perrotin to take my companion. They had 800 companions for sale ( 130 for each colorway). They will have another for sale soon. Are you sure about the price? 130 euro? I think I remember them being 190 euro via their online shop?? Just curious
130x6=780 (~800). I think the 130 was just a description of quantity, not price. They were โฌ193 online before.
