100 post / Black Friday Giveaway Shenanigans!, by phischa on Nov 25, 2016 13:48:23 GMT 1, Nice! I like all of them (also on IG) but my favorite is the one in the middle. The different ankles and perspectives are well arranged and gives a more-dimensional feeling. I'm sure it will look great in a simple black frame. Thanks for sharing and for the kind giveaway.

New Pose Print - Couples Therapy...Coming Soon, by phischa on Nov 22, 2016 15:52:23 GMT 1, I love the colours. Especially the guys gold suit. And you know seeing a photo of the print never is as good as seeing it in person, so I am sure the colors are going to be even more vivid and bright. That's true. I was blown away when I first saw BURN in the flesh...I'ver never seen a print like this before

Your latest Art Purchase?, by phischa on Nov 22, 2016 14:30:19 GMT 1, phischa It's by Paco Pomet and called Habia Una Vez (Once upon a time), a print from his work at Dismaland. I think it's still available at source, you can check by dropping Christian an email at serigrafia@cmwalter.com. He was in charge of the release. Thank you for the quick reply! I just checked the print I'm a bit surprised about the price tag. Lovely print anyway!!

Your latest Art Purchase?, by phischa on Nov 22, 2016 14:10:57 GMT 1, I opened this up for the first time at the framers the other day and I have to say, I was absolutely blown away by the quality. I know on release there were one or two negative opinions, but its hands down one of the best screen prints I have seen in a long time. Absolutely stellar and the art police loved it! Can't wait to get it back from the framers. Is this a print from Pejac? Viking Surfer I cannot find it. The grey frame looks amazing - I'm looking forward to see it on the wall :-)

Album of the year..., by phischa on Nov 22, 2016 7:41:51 GMT 1, Blackstar by Bowie We got it from here...thank you 4 your service by A Tribe Called Quest Blonde by Frank Ocean (only because it introduced me to Channel Orange) I enjoyed Blonde, it grew on me. After about 5-6 listens I was really into it. I think the production is great - I saw he got Jamie XX, Hudson Mohawke, Pharell among others involved in producing it. I found it to be honest. Perhaps a little too honest at times - maybe it's just my perception but some of his lyrics felt a bit like he's getting them in so he can relish in the sympathy he gets once it's released. Like he's fishing for it? He also took some hooks directly from other songs (Carpenters) and some indirectly (Seigfried guitar sounding just like Radiohead's Reckoner, Adele's Someone Like You chords in Future Free) although he does give a thank you to Radiohead in the shoutouts and Adele has been quoted saying how much she loves the album. I also got slightly put off by the same loop in every single interim segue track. As pleasant as it sounds, i felt that could have been used just once and he could have used variations of it or something else entirely for each additional one to keep it fresh. Also at the very end when he's talking to people into a field voice recorder - the volume of that whole segment is way louder than the rest of the album and it's jarring! It's ultimately a smooth listen with some quality tracks on it. My favourite being White Ferrari. If you listened to this and it got you into Channel Orange then that's not a bad thing at all! That album is fantastic.
There's a nice website called "whosampled". In case you're interested in the samples artist have used. Often I'm sure I'm recognizing sampled parts, it's fun to see if my guess is right.

Kunstrasen Spot Remover print., by phischa on Oct 10, 2016 11:16:09 GMT 1, I'd suggest to extend the number of entries to 42, which is more related to UAA - the answer to life, the universe and everything. :-)
phischa - 27 (earlier posts already considered)

Harland Miller Prints, by phischa on Aug 16, 2016 10:38:26 GMT 1, I don't understand his work to be honest. Apart from the question in general about art of being subjective, would someone mind to explain what it makes so desireable. I suspect a lot of the appreciation comes from the nostalgia of seeing an old penguin book cover - perhaps long out of print - and the addition of familiar colloquialism or phrase - subverted to raise a laugh or shock the observer - for example - a familiar saying like "don't let the bastards get you down" is frequently used around these parts - this has been tweaked - in my opinion very successfully to " don't let the bastards cheer you up" and therefore completely at odds with the original sentiment - brilliant !!
Thank you DrWhite for the explaination. I guess you need to know penguin books to have a connection to the art work.I admit that the phrases are smart and bold. It's not my cup of tea but this is the beauty and the fascination of art.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by phischa on Aug 15, 2016 12:56:14 GMT 1, Finally got this back from my framer (Tim @ Darbyshires). Normally I don't like a fancy framing as I think it distracts from the art itself. This subtle detail is gorgeous and works perfectly with the colours, the image and its statement. Kudos Viking Surfer

Banksy Tesco Petrol Bomb/Soup Can authentication, by phischa on Aug 13, 2016 11:30:17 GMT 1, Hi guys, a question to you Banksy experts: I'm thinking about to buy my first Banksy in the near future. Pricewise I've Tesco Petrol Bomb and Soup Can in my mind. Now, how can I authenticate the print. I assume there're lots of fakes out there. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance and have a nice weekend!

Zedsy 🇬🇧 Street Art • New Print Release , by phischa on Jul 31, 2016 10:53:52 GMT 1, I see lots of Banksy fakes on eBay, yours seem to be good quality though. Would you mind to add information about these copies? You've mentioned edition size and stamps - I'm wondering if ithey're kind of special?! Thank you! As the rat catcher states - they are from west county prince. Not really sure what I can add but bought them from him a few years back with the intention of putting them up In the boys room. They are numbered editions, he started doing them as such and has since started doing Open editions Print Quality seems fine and they've been well looked after
Thank you for your reply. Haven't heart about them but wil check it out.
