Nina Chanel Abney ๐บ๐ธ Race, Gender, Politics, Homophobia , by docean on Sept 14, 2020 18:14:07 GMT 1, I don't understand artists that have nothing to do with skateboarding making decks... just an odd trend IMO.
Easy pass for me, especially since it's unsigned.

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 17:56:34 GMT 1, It was an honest question, since you said it was a stretch I was curious to know. Haring is amazing, but Samo was active before him so I'd more easily attribute the "original" portion of the title to him. and the entire world knows who Samo is, where as maybe 1% know Lee Quiรฑones or Fab 5, so it's pretty easy for me to attribute the "legend" title to him. As a quick fact check, Taki183 brought New York City's graffiti to the forefront after being profiled in the New York Times in 1971, well before Basquiat and Haring. Perhaps you could say that Haring, Basquiat, or both of them were pioneers in the commercialization of graffiti but to say they are the original legends diminishes the work of countless other names who are ignored simply because they didn't have the gallery representation and high society hype to commoditize their work. Taki183 was active for a few years and then gave it all up and runs a mechanic shop (absolutely nothing wrong with that). But if he didn't care enough to continue his work, I'd have a hard time calling him a legend in the space.

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 16:21:36 GMT 1, Is that an honest question? Or whatever I answer will you tell me I'm wrong and its Basquiat? In honesty, I don't know who THE ORIGINAL STREET ART LEGEND is, and I would struggle to decide, I'm quite amazed you can do so so unequivocally. You easily brushed aside Haring, Quinones and Fab 5 Freddy to name a few.... All legends imo. It was an honest question, since you said it was a stretch I was curious to know.

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 16:09:12 GMT 1, you're going to excuse yourself because I highlighted the absurdity of your statement? ok lol. for starters, 1stDibs is not an auction platform. secondly, we don't know the exact date of sale, it's a maximum of 2 years ago based on COA info provided. and finally "according to everyone" and "tripled" are pretty bold claims not backed by anything. talk about bad faith... blocked. enjoy your banksquiat! lmao. wow I've never seen someone get so hurt by some stats and a harmless opinion.

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 16:01:32 GMT 1, have been several threads, was one trying to trade for a kate just the other day. using 2 year old auction results makes no sense because according to everyone on this forum banksy pieces have tripled in value since 2 years ago. so something selling for half the price of a banksquiat 2 years ago is completely irrelevant and a bad faith comparison. really, using the tate ward banksquiat result as a metric for anything is a bad faith comparison. given that you have gone the italics/bold/underlining route i'm going to excuse myself from this thread. enjoy your banksquiat.

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 15:36:16 GMT 1, comparing the tate ward result to an auction result on 1stdibs about 2 years prior is hardly a good comparison either lol the irony is ppl are probably devaluing their banksquiats by doing stuff like this, because it makes it abundantly clear no one is willing to trade these types of prints for a banksquiat banksquiat owners: just be happy with your banksquiat. that's really not a lot to ask. the fact that so many banksquiat owners are already trying to trade it for other prints speaks to how much they actually like the banksquiat image "abundantly clear no one is willing to trade these types of prints" **he says after literally one person proposed it less than 24 hours ago...**
I haven't seen anybody else even offer theirs up. Mine is framed on the wall where it will remain for years to come, so I am happy, thank you.
LIITA was the print in question, and that's the most recent sale that I could find. Is it a perfect comparison? absolutely not. But one sold for more than double the other, so I don't think it's a stretch to refute the claim that "an unsigned is probably a better comparison"

Banksy โข Flower Thrower โข Love is in the Air, by docean on Sept 4, 2020 15:22:22 GMT 1, I'd be surprised too but after seeing the results of Tate Ward... who knows. I am biased because I own a Banksquiat but I really do think it is one of his best (2nd only to Girl With Balloon)... the tribute to the original street art legend is huge. you are indeed biased, an unsigned is a closer trade than a signed. an unsigned LIITA was listed on 1stDibs less than 2 years ago for $75k and had an offer accepted (so sold for less). Tate Ward Banksquiat after all fees came out to $167k, hardly a good comparison IMO.

PEJAC collection For Sale, by docean on Aug 4, 2020 15:10:42 GMT 1, People on here suck, probably not the place to sell your collection unfortunately OP. They will kick tires, bash you, and waste your time for ages. Pejac is very talented, but I've been saying for years he's over-hyped. No real representation and not known in any important circles. Some folks on here are sour because they're sad to see his market softening as people wisen up to that.
With that said, I had a Yin-Yang on here for over a month at $3.5k... nothing but time wasters. Consigned it to a local gallery and it sold for $5k. So don't get discouraged by the trolls on here, there's usually always a buyer out there.

Pejac, Harrington, Hayuk, RTC , by docean on Jun 30, 2020 15:54:21 GMT 1, I would agree, it is pure gold. All of my comments still hold true years later. I guess you could say I have a good eye for these things. I'll make another bold prediction now (so you can screenshot it and share a few years down the line) You'll still be a miserable sap with nothing better to do than jump on threads and argue with strangers. Cheers, young David. If you fear comments on your sale threads with lots of sloppy stock pictures, put your stuff on eBay, and don't offer it for free on a forum. Also, with your history on here, don't be surprised. Stock photos seem to be working just fine seeing as 8 items on this thread have sold so far. But thank you for chiming in with a useless opinion yet again.
I don't fear the comments at all, I welcome the opportunity to make you look like a clown (rather easy, I must say)

Pejac, Harrington, Hayuk, RTC , by docean on Jun 30, 2020 15:09:16 GMT 1, well you feel the need to post about it on instagram so it's fairly easy to see why you're so hurt. and sorry man rules apply to everyone, you broke them and faced the consequences...an unfortunate lesson. good luck shanking them in the water this afternoon! david, young man, listen: I said, you do know zero/nuttin' about my current collection. and I have to say it again in regards to my pejacs. your threads never fail to entertain, the screenshot of your classic pejac rant above is pure gold! I was really hurt when you reported me back then...a very hard and unfortunate lessen indeed. ๐ง๐คฃ๐คฃ

Pejac, Harrington, Hayuk, RTC , by docean on Jun 30, 2020 14:56:26 GMT 1, Look man, I'm sorry that you're heavily exposed to Pejac and you feel as if any negative sentiment will hurt the value of your collection, but you wasting your time complaining on my threads only serves to make you look foolish. I would've thought you learned that years ago with the temporary ban. Maybe you should consider a hobby... go play some golf instead of arguing with strangers. matey, you do know nothing bout my current collection. the temporary ban? that was a great and mature move by you then, young fella, to report me to someone on here...๐คฃ thanks for the great advice with the golf, might actually do that later today. good luck with your fire sale! well you feel the need to post about it on instagram so it's fairly easy to see why you're so hurt.

Pejac, Harrington, Hayuk, RTC , by docean on Jun 30, 2020 14:46:20 GMT 1, Ah another forum member with nothing better to do with their miserable life than to dig up ancient posts and lowball. Curious how you or ladycoxsun find this relevant? I stand by everything I said. -- Max is still a miserable person to deal with. -- Years later, still nobody outside of UAA has heard of Pejac. -- In the post I said I overlook the shortcomings enough to buy Pejac's work, which I ended up doing. I liked the image and tried to buy at Avant (because they're professional and actually know how to sell art), when it sold out I got it off Pejac's site. No Max dealings required. Unlike some folks on this forum, I'm able to be critical of the artists I collect, not just pretending they're flawless because I have exposure to them. great jab with the alias name! did the taxman cometh? that was another glorious thread by you, matey. Look man, I'm sorry that you're heavily exposed to Pejac and you feel as if any negative sentiment will hurt the value of your collection, but you wasting your time complaining on my threads only serves to make you look foolish. I would've thought you learned that years ago with the temporary ban. Maybe you should consider a hobby... go play some golf instead of arguing with strangers.
Ah another forum member with nothing better to do with their miserable life than to dig up ancient posts and lowball. Curious how you or ladycoxsun find this relevant? Pejac, Harrington, Hayuk, RTC , by docean on Jun 30, 2020 8:55:15 GMT 1, ok, thanks. I remember the seller was bitching so much about pejac some months ago, surprising he went for this print...
You just love to find me and complain, sorry you donโt have anything better to do. But thanks for the thread bump.
