Washington Post 20th January 2017 - obey ad, by NYart on Jan 21, 2017 14:26:56 GMT 1, They were also in the New York Times (USA today too?). Which are both sold all over the states. I'll keep an eye out when I'm out and about today but I can't say I've ever seen the previous days newspaper around 🙁

Trades - best practice, by NYart on Jan 14, 2017 21:10:34 GMT 1, If you both have the cash.. paypal each other the value so essentially your both actually are buying peices from each other and you'll have that buyers protection should one not follow through on their end. It'll cost you both 3% but I'd imagine that's worth the insurance.

Invader • Earth, Moon, Neptune, Mars, by NYart on Jan 5, 2017 12:27:59 GMT 1, Yes. Money has been exchanged for art. Thank you to the buyer involved for a painless transaction. Sold? I got your pm, I answered, never heard back from you and now I see here it's sold? Is this a normal behaviour? Can you be considered a "deal with confidence" member?
I don't see how your perception of poor communication should make anyone wary of doing a deal with him. Not PMing everyone it's sold when he posted it was sold doesn't make someone untrustworthy.

New Edition from DRAN, by NYart on Jan 5, 2017 1:10:43 GMT 1, I was offered one by the gallery and in the end decided to pass. I really love the work, but after factoring in quality framing costs, space and other artworks I already have that aren't on the wall, I decided to save myself a grand (possibly two after framing). Instead I bought about 12 mini prints from Dran's Paris stall Through a contact, I managed to get quite a few of my favourites from there and have no qualms about getting lovely frames for them. For all those that bought the Dran #33 release, it's a quality pick up and you'll enjoy it very much. Good job.
I saw some pics of the stall and mini prints, definitely looked pretty cool. Do you happen to know much about them? Were they signed, open edition, giclee?

Your latest Art Purchase?, by NYart on Dec 10, 2016 1:28:23 GMT 1, It was a bit of luck really, I hadn't been on the other forum for months, apropos of nothing I looked on the board and they were for sale. I was disappointed to miss the dog with the hat on its release, so really pleased to have it now! Super talented artist with affordable OGs. To be fair JCHockey, you have a pretty sweet canvas yerself!
Thanks man, I definitely enjoy it, unfortunately the girlfriend gets creeped out by it so it didn't get a very prime spot to hang haha. But yeah yours and I think it was 'I'm a real boy' the character with a cigarette were probably my two favs from that showcase, not surprisingly gone before I knew of them. When I got mine I actually just got in touch with him on IG expressing interest and he ended up messaging me as he'd finish new pieces!

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 12, 2016 18:42:56 GMT 1, Again it falls back to picking the lesser of two bad choices. And the only way Trump could have any chance to succeed in his efforts regardless of what he intends to do is with the congressional majority. So if I voted for him it'd be a waste of my vote if I went democratic below him on the ticket. yes. Only giving one complete power as allowed within our system is the only way to get things done. You lack insight into our history and apparently don't understand the purpose of balance in our system.
Good thing our system doesn't allow for complete power 👍🏻 Balance is important between the branches to ensure no one branch has too much power and can control independently of the others. A divide within the branches between parties doesn't help anything just creates obstacles to getting things done. The only way absolute power could happen would be the Supreme Court and congress just saying, "hey do whatever you want you have our complete support", regardless of what party has the majority that would never happen, especially when Trump really isn't a true republican.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 11, 2016 22:13:00 GMT 1, Well a few recent examples Gaddafi's human rights abuses in Libya, Saddam use of poison gas on the Kurds, and Assad in Syria again with poison gas. All were major factors use to gain public support for intervention, so that's the sense in which I meant 'moral crusade'. I'm definitely aware that those were not the main reasons the government decided to act and more excuses for them getting involved. People are more inclined to support military action if they believe people need their help. Now that it's begun and lives are being lost as collateral damage it raises the question what was worse? The abuses they were facing by their own people, or the collateral damages caused 'trying to protect them'.
So overall what I meant was while people may feel inclinded or obligated to help internationally when people are being victimized I believe it's time to keep a distance. What's the saying 'evil only prevails when good fails to act'? It seems a lot of evil and destruction is caused even when those acting in the name of good take action.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 11, 2016 21:17:15 GMT 1, With all due respect to my American friends on here, I do find it both irritating and conceited when your fellow Americans refer to your president as "the leader of the free world". He's the leader of America. And what is meant by "the free world"? It used to mean non communist countries during the Cold War. What does it mean now? And assuming that the uk is part of this free world, I can assure all Americans that I don't consider trump my leader.
I'd say NATO nations in general would make up "the free world" and the US is the top contributor financially and typically leads the fight when intervention is needed. So in my eyes that's what makes the term still relevant, it's not a "we're the best and everyone follows suit". Just when it comes to fighting terrorism, oppression, etc, we're typically taking the charge unfortunately. I hope Trump delivers with his 'America first' so we can get away from this and spend our money rebuilding our country instead of destroying others. People like to think our involvement is a moral crusade but no ones asking the Iraqis, Syrians, or Yemenis if they want our help. Sure we may be killing some terrorists but is it helping more than it's hurting?

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 10, 2016 10:51:56 GMT 1, Watching the news on TVs and it's the same as after Brexit, with the media and people in power who thought they knew everything suddenly realise, or actually still not realise how out of touch with the majority public opinion they are. Hilary got the majority of votes
It's funny because the electoral system was intended to prevent a bad candidate from becoming president. It's ridiculous and outdated and annoys me because I'm essentially only voting for who wins my state, not the election. My state Clinton won and my vote was all for nothing because the popular vote doesn't matter. Which is also a huge reason many people don't vote, I knew Trump had no chance in my state. After this and Gore losing the electoral vote versus Bush who I'm sure all agree was a disaster maybe they'll take a more serious look at that.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 10, 2016 10:36:28 GMT 1, Still seem to be missing the point. He was not elected because of his great characteristics. He was elected because some things economically he stands for is what american people have been wanting for a longtime and the peoples voice has fallen on deaf ears. Its the big F*** you to the government and people feel his election is a statement. Again, this idea falls flat when you realize that same"f**kyou" government folks voted for GOP to win the House, Senate and direct the course of this country for our life times.
Again it falls back to picking the lesser of two bad choices. And the only way Trump could have any chance to succeed in his efforts regardless of what he intends to do is with the congressional majority. So if I voted for him it'd be a waste of my vote if I went democratic below him on the ticket.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 10, 2016 2:30:00 GMT 1, In the end, maybe some of you will get the reference lol, it came down to voting for a giant douche or a turd sandwich. I don't believe I'm saying it's okay to be a giant douche because given the choice between two bad options I chose the one I believe has more upside. Clinton has authorized the sales of arms to countries with serious human rights abuses. It's not hard to believe hundreds if not thousands of innocent people have died from those weapons. But the fact that her foundation received generous donations from those countries, I guess she can sleep well at night. Both people have benefited from the misfortunes of others in the past, and both likely would as president one way or another. I do however maintain hope that Trump is not in it for his own financial gain, and if that's the case I think Trump has more potential to change things long term for the better.
I definitely would have voted for Gary Johnson or Bernie Sanders if they could have had a chance to win. That's another problem with our system. Due to the lack of media attention a third party such as Libertarian which I identify with will no time soon have a chance. And with Bernie and the way the democratic primaries are designed he never had a chance to become their nominee. The system bit them in the ass this time because had Bernie been the candidate Trump wouldn't have had a chance.
To the point where Trump won't be able to accomplish serious change to our democratic process because his fellow Republicans won't allow it... Basically right now they know they're in trouble. A candidate they did not want or support was able to hijack their party to become president, their best candidates were not as appealing as Trump, that says a ton about their parties future. If they want to handcuff Trump he's not going to take it laying down considering he's been fighting them for the past year before holding any position of power. They will be sealing their own fate for years to come, it might be a tough pill for them to swallow but it's one they have to. They need to support Trump. Think about it, if they can rally behind him and accomplish some positive things and get their disgruntled voters support back that's about the most they could hope for in this situation.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Nov 9, 2016 22:31:22 GMT 1, I voted for Trump.
I didn't vote for who he is - a narcissist, billionaire, sexist. I also didn't vote for him in support of some of his "plans" like the Mexico wall, or the Muslim ban. I voted for him because of what he isn't and that is a career politician.
All of our problems in my opinion boils down to one thing, special interest money in politics. All the corporations throwing money at our politicians puts their interests above the American people and worlds best interest. Making us happy doesn't get them elected believe it or not. If their campaigns aren't funded and they don't have the resources to get their name out, they aren't going to have a job very long. Those that manage to keep their jobs have learned through their careers to play ball, and when a new congressmen does gets in pledging to "clean up Washington", he can't do it alone and will be out his next term.
Big moves need to be made to how our elections work in order to get our elected officials interests aligned with the public. A big start is removing the ability of corporations contributing to campaigns. Along with which significant term limits would go a long way to helping keep our candidates fresh and hopefully give more honest, real people a chance to make a positive impact. The problem is there's no motivation for any of them to ruin the good thing they have going. We need a person who doesn't have anything to lose by doing so, and Trump is the first whose come along in my lifetime who doesn't. Will he? Maybe not. But I know Clinton wouldn't.
Many of people's biggest fears about what Trump may or may not do are pretty unfounded. Is it realistic or possible to ban muslims outright? Not a chance. Build a wall across the border of Mexico? Nope. Can he increase background checks, screenings, and border patrol? Sure but that's not such a terrible thing. His biggest issue is he doesn't thing before he talks. However his success in business eases my concerns because he must put more thought into his actions before he makes them than his thought to his words. Think he is going to start World War III? Well the president can't declare war without congressional approval. Sure hypothetically he could instigate another country to the point where they make the first move, but if that's the case we have a country with a leader more dangerous than Trump.
I respect that others may feel what he has done and said as unfit for leadership of the free world, and to be honest I don't disagree. However I feel like he is the best chance we have of breaking that status quo and opening up the door to real progress. He's a narcissist billionaire, what does he have to gain from this? I think he's just seeking approval for his self esteem and that means he should be working for our interest, not the systems. I think he's for the greater good.

Thieve and Scammer Alert!!!!, by NYart on Nov 9, 2016 14:07:45 GMT 1, If fees is what they want, next time try offering to add 3% to the total to cover the fees, and if they object that'd be a red flag! Hope you get it all sorted though in the meantime!

KAWS Silk Screen Print for Sale. , by NYart on Oct 17, 2016 11:24:02 GMT 1, So is there any accountability here? I would have expected more members focus on the poster of this "for sale" thread. Only 30 posts and the OG poster puts up a fake item for sale. I am not aiming this at the OG poster but think there should be rules and consequences in general if someone put up a fake item up for sale on this forum. even if he is a new member or an member with 1000+ posts. Even if the poster is putting up an item up for sale for a friend and stuff.... He is responsible for the post and one should know if this happens there are consequences. For putting up fake items there should be 0% tolerance right? (please don't ban me... I put up Fake Stuff up for sale all the time)
I'm with you, surprised everyone's taking it for face value and letting it slide. "Oh he didn't know better, it's not his print." I think it is his personally, easy way to deflect the wrong doing if he gets caught. Like you said even if it was for a friend it's his reputation on the line he should be responsible to make sure it's legit.
