Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 22, 2010 18:05:05 GMT 1, You missed an unsigned GR on here a few days back for ยฃ850 - i'd consider that to be a fairly keen price. Signed i'd say you'd be lucky to get one for less than ยฃ3.5k - might have to pay a bit more.
I'm after a signed GR (or even better the Green AP!) but they don't come up too often

CYW for possible trade, by Phat Spider on Dec 22, 2010 1:49:23 GMT 1, phatspider! Just a bit of advice. I would hold onto that ed.58 considerably longer if were you. I think it will be as popular as any of the other colourways. Trust me! You'll regret it later on down the line.
Thats a fair point - but my choice is for personal preference not future value etc. If I manage to swap it for a purple, or a rat great - if not - i'll be VERY happy having this on my wall

CYW for possible trade, by Phat Spider on Dec 22, 2010 1:48:03 GMT 1, I might be interested so let me understand that I have this right... you queued in the bitter cold for hours overnight, whined your ass off because you were absolutely wronged, then spent time effort and money choosing that very special frame and before the last hinge of japanese archival tape applied you are now not into the image?
I love the image - but I've always wanted a signed GR and purple was my first colour choice on the CYW
Thought it was clear in my original post - if neither of those come up this is definitely going on my wall - hence why i've invested in proper framing

CYW for possible trade, by Phat Spider on Dec 22, 2010 0:05:28 GMT 1, Now I know this won't go down well with some on here but I was one of the lucky few who got a queue jump grey edition - it's currently with mfm being framed.
I haven't yet seen the grey in person but I saw the purple and fell in love with that one.
Print is absolutely not for sale so pls no offers - if i trade it - it will only go for another signed Banksy
So trade for either :
Purple CYW Signed Gangsta Rat
Thanks

NEW BANKSY 'Queue Jumping Grey' Choose Your Weapon, by Phat Spider on Dec 21, 2010 20:19:50 GMT 1, So my QJ Grey got collected by MFM today - though i won't see it til I return from hols mid Jan (if my flight on Saturday actually takes off!) Im super stoked as despite trying to buy various Banksy's from source for 3 years + I have never been lucky enough. This yr was the first time i tried the queue and what a year to try! Lost out but POW came good for me. And no - i didn't whinge - i just said i was disappointed that I and other genuine fans lost out due to the actions of others and lack of order/security. If i didn't get the QJ life would have gone on - but props to POW/Banksy for listening to their fans. Those guys are damned if they do and damned if they don't
I too am appalled how many of these have ended up on eBay. Mines 100% not for sale - I've not seen the colour in the flesh but the images look really good - only swap I'd consider is for a purple (or a signed Gangsta Rat!)
Hoping this is the first of many great Banksy prints to hit my wall

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 16, 2010 11:23:02 GMT 1, If an individual buys and item than sells that same item for a large profit - is that individual who made the large profit responsible to pay any taxes on the profit such as capital gains, federal, state and or local taxes or is that only in America? I am assuming the individual paid taxes to POW, POW paid their taxes and that EBAY paid there taxes on it what about the guy who is going to make the most money. Art is not exempt. If you re-sell a print for a profit and you're a UK resident you are liable to Capital Gains Tax if your total profits for the year amount to more than ยฃ10k. So only really affects serial flippers.
Like grafik?

NEW BANKSY 'Queue Jumping Grey' Choose Your Weapon, by Phat Spider on Dec 16, 2010 10:53:42 GMT 1, I'm with wave - sounds like plenty got a raw deal due to people pushing in throughout the night and in the morning and I think POW/Banksy have handled this very well - they didn't have to do anything. Contrary to some of the posts on the release thread I think this shows that Banksy/POW do give a shit - and got caught ill prepared last weekend

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 16, 2010 1:01:13 GMT 1, I think there were 8 at POW, 3 at Berwick and 4 online - plus the illusive white, silver and gold - and now the warm grey.
So i make that 17 x 25, 1 x 100 and 1 x 58 so as someone said earlier 583 in total (so far!)

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 15, 2010 23:25:30 GMT 1, Ok, no harm meant. Just curious as to how that guy can promise a #1? No one else is wondering?
Think he's just saying it's one of 25, not necessarily print #1

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 15, 2010 19:44:52 GMT 1, Would contract law over run the sales of goods act? From what I understand, paying has always only meant offering money in return of goods or service, and it's up to the seller to decide whether to accept the offer or not from the buyer. In this case, POW have clearly stated that until they actually send the print out, they have the rights to turn down the offer.
Not quite
The offer would be POW advrtising it for sale (or in the case sending you an email).
The acceptance would be you (the customer) placing an order via the link in the mail
And the consideration that seals the contract is the payment - if its taken then in law they'd not be able to wriggle out of it.

Banksy โข Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 15, 2010 19:35:06 GMT 1, Frustrating though it is - POW have no option to not fulfill the order even if someones got it up for sale. They've entered in to a legally binding contract (if they've taken payment) and nowhere in their terms does it say you can't resell it From the POW Terms page: Secondary Market: In an effort to sell art to people who want it, rather than people who want to make a profit on it, Picturesonwalls reserves the right to refund any person who advertises their print for sale prior to them being in receipt of said print. For the avoidance of doubt, we deem the contract between seller & buyer to have been made at the point the print leaves our premises and not the point of payment. If a print is offered for sale on the Secondary market after receipt, then Picturesonwalls reserve the right to no longer fulfil any orders to that customer.
Ah ok - learn something new every day
Wouldn't stand up in law though - consideration (ie payment) confirms the contract and sadly the terms above would not be considered 'reasonable' in law.
Be interesting to see if they ever exercise this right
