Banksy Welcome Mat, by Buff Monster Fan on Jun 4, 2021 3:48:03 GMT 1, Framing Devil is great... Are you sure he didn't add the frayed pieces second hand? It does certainly look strange like it was added intentionally by him when framing. This would be something right up his alley as he usually transcends art pieces with added pieces, extra paint, etc. Framing devil sucks... Care to elaborate by any chance? I have a piece framed by him (that I bought second hand), and it's a beauty. Curious as to where your opinion comes from.
BTW d.r. perseus - I love the framing here and the "damage" doesn't take away from the art/message in any way for me.

Pose framing advice, by Buff Monster Fan on May 15, 2021 16:51:13 GMT 1, I think you can't go wrong with any of the options as they're all simple and they all look good on a colorful Pose print. My personal belief is that framing is 95% about the art and what looks best for it, with the remaining 5% being about where the print is hanging (i.e. the room, what or if anything is hanging near it, etc.) So, since all 3 options look great, maybe decide based on the atmosphere of where it's hanging?
(that said, black on black looks fresh)

Quite an interesting collection of art displayed throughout the space, including Banksy, Murakami, KAWS, Invader, Fairey, Koons, Warhol, Nara, Haring, Sachs, Weiwei and more.

Paco Pomet 🇪🇸 Granada, Spain • New Paintings , by Buff Monster Fan on Mar 2, 2021 22:34:30 GMT 1, Thanks Tobi187 - much appreciated!
Perhaps this is a silly question, and of course it's dependent on the version/size/etc. but any idea roughly of what an original Pomet should run? $5-$7K? More/less? Just curious on guidance and expectations here.
Thx

Invader Djerba Map , by Buff Monster Fan on Dec 19, 2020 16:45:35 GMT 1, I only knew of Djerba from it's connection to Star Wars, but there is obviously so much more than that!
I'd love to see Invader do something like this for all of his invasions. Very cool to see the installation process in broad daylight and I've always wondered how many building owners give permission for an installation vs. not.

Penny 2p coins, by Buff Monster Fan on Dec 13, 2020 21:13:41 GMT 1, I've not seen these before, very cool. Is anyone able to share a brief back story on them? How were they originally distributed at the show? Any idea how many version were produced? Thanks all! He bought a penny pusher from an arcade and then loaded it with 2ps and there were bunches of painted and signed ones in there that you had to keep feeding in order to get the painted ones, a bit like Tipping Point and I would go to the bank and get bags of 2ps to chuck into the machine in my lunchtimes and even ended up doing swops of these with other forum members! Marilyn and Snow White were the holy grail and I couldn't give up until I got them! I loved the concept of some signed original art for 2p!! I even designed the VIP invite for the show for him at the time and was gifted a unique one off layered stencil that is proudly hanging on my wall! Happy days!! Very cool - thank you so much for the background!
If anyone has a spare that they'd like to part with, please DM! I'd love to add one to my currency collection (of course after others above have been contacted first)

Flat Storage Advice - Large Prints, by Buff Monster Fan on Sept 21, 2020 18:33:42 GMT 1, Hey fam -
I currently have two solutions for my prints - frame & hang them or store them flat in my Itoya Art Profolio (which measures 24" x 18" or roughly 61 cm x 46cm).
I've recently added some odd shape prints - for example a 70cm x 85cm from Pure Evil - and want to be sure that I'm storing those safely as well.
Does anyone have any tried and true solutions for storing larger prints? Keep in mind that I don't have space for a large chest, so I'd prefer some sort of folio or sleeves that don't take up too much room
TIA!

Social distancing , by Buff Monster Fan on Sept 14, 2020 18:14:51 GMT 1, Much like many other artists, you can approach Pejac’s work from two perspectives - his prints and his original work. Recent feedback that I’ve seen on this forum is that Pejac’s more current work has lacked inspiration and originality and has felt repetitive, in correspondence with criticism around Pejac’s management. I suppose that this is rooted mostly in the fact that all of his major editioned prints have been largely similar - larger size format, mostly black and white, environmentally themed. Perhaps there is some concern that this repetitiveness has led to a flattening of his print resale prices?
What I can’t agree with is that Pejac’s creativity is waning or that his originality in original/street work has declined. It doesn’t appear to me that he overproduces art and a simple follow of his Instagram shows some beautiful work, ingenuity and experimentation with multiple mediums. As mentioned, he’s an excellent technical drawer, but his work in nature, cracked glass, paint, Sharpie and sculpture mediums are fantastic as well.
Take a look at some of his work over the past 1-2 years, including a few of my favorites, his work inside of ‘El Dueso’ prison in Spain, Fossil in NYC and Nature First:
Confetti Homage to Seurat
Quarantine Window Series
Greenpuzzle
Hunter
The Shape of Days
Camouflage
Land Adrift
Fossil
Hope
Alive End
Nature First
And a few more I like...

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Buff Monster Fan on Aug 25, 2020 23:25:04 GMT 1, Received mine today in Detroit - it's lovely, besides the fact that the dirt/mud already on it indeed are a disconsolate reminder of where the lifejackets originated from. I was fortunate enough to visit GDP in person and the image of the mat (and subsequent pile of lifejackets) was not easily forgotten.
My opinion, which is worth absolutely nothing, is that these can look beautiful if framed simply and without too much flare that might take away from the mat itself.
And of course, hang it near the front door
