KAWS CHUM release August 9th , by jluhiex on Aug 9, 2022 18:22:19 GMT 1, There is no edition size because it's an open edition. Which explains how it sold out in 5 mins :-). It's an anniversary edition, so doubt we'll see it again for another ten years. Not going to argue semantics here but if KAWS, the man himself does not put an edition size it's an open edition. Go look at any auction house that will touch these...every single one will say open edition in the description.
Most of these drops sell out in 5 minutes or less, doesn't change the fact that he's dropped the flayed and different editions multiple times.

KAWS CHUM release August 9th , by jluhiex on Aug 9, 2022 17:23:55 GMT 1, Got a white one! Hooray, always loved those. White and black sold out after 5 minutes. Rest of colors still available. Ever since his 2016 dissected flayed release in plastic packaging they've mostly been open edition unless otherwise stated.

VALUATION โข Art Valuation Advice, by jluhiex on Apr 23, 2021 13:26:26 GMT 1, Hi everybody ๐! I have a question about the authenticity of an artwork but I didn't found any thread here about that, so I'm posting it right there (tell me if it's not the good place). I have authenticity questions regarding "FLOWER BOMBER BRONZE STATUE", 2019 version, #4530956490595, from SYNC x BRANDALISM (sculpture inspired by Banksy's artwork). I searched the forum for answers, searched all the internet, wrote messages to MedicomToy and Sync, but I have no answer and didn't have any information to authenticate or not my item. Here is the precise reference of the item : www.syncstore.jp/product/brandalism/0815/And a photo of it : So do someone know things about it ? If so can you give me advice, photos and all the details you have about this artwork (weight, hologram on the outer box or not, photos of the below of the feet to see what is indicated and if it's engraved or not, etc.) ? Or do you know a website or someone else that can help me ? Thanks a lot, it's very important for me ๐ ๐ ๐ BUMP, IF SOMEONE KNOWS ANYTHING PLEASE ANSWER (it's really important because I have to give all details of a real one vs. the fake one I bought so I can have a refund)
Bro...
You bought a 600,000 yen msrp item for $800. Let that "sync" in before you decide if it's real or fake.
And if you didn't get my clue... its made by syncstore.jp

Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Productโข, by jluhiex on Mar 10, 2021 1:09:21 GMT 1, Most likely real but anything is possible. There are fake Warhol's that even the Warhol foundation authenticated and ultimately brought them to their demise. Bank statements can be doctored, tags can be faked, receipts forged. At these prices everyone should do the proper DD.
If OP can provide a live video with prospective buyer of him logging in to his bank and showing the line item charge from GDP it could put buyer's mind at ease.

NO LONGER AVAILABLE. , by jluhiex on Oct 17, 2020 17:40:33 GMT 1, Christie's and Sotheby's will tell you no. Most people here will say you are a thief, worse than the rags they use to clean cum off prostitutes. If you consign it to lesser known, unscrupulous auction houses like Julien's in Los Angeles you will probably get 8000-12000 usd (minus any fees). An authentic Alias of this size will fetch 35-40k (signed, titled, dated with certificate). You will also get offers from lurkers here in the range of $100-3000...depending on how much of a scum they think you are (lower the offer the higher they are on the scum scale?) side note: not cool to degrade sex workers
The rags not the profession. Sex work is a noble profession.

TateWard โข Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by jluhiex on Sept 15, 2020 19:33:14 GMT 1, I don't doubt the buyer has the funds. From his previous posts he's been wanting a banksy for 4 years now, even bid 65k on a Banksquiat last month. Probably got some extra spending cash from a hot stock pick, cashed out. Guy most likely got cold feet, buyers remorse having to drop 60k on a banksy (and probably not even one he's in love with). I think both sides are at fault here with lessons to be learned. Danny and Tate should have waited the 2 extra days, but would the buyer have followed through with payment even then? Honestly, 30k in CC points is rather pedantic when you're spending 60k on a piece of paper. If your arguing based on principal then it's from a pretty weak position to break a contractual agreement because the auction house didn't allow you to pay half the invoice with a cc. If Tate gave you the invoice, then you know how much to wire and how much to authorize on the CC...doing anything else is just tire kicking. In those 4 years I have managed to acquireย prints. But I do not need to justify myself that have no idea about myย circumstancesย and that make false assumptions.ย ย At the end of the day if you are happy to use an auction house that possibly may ย allow a seller or buyer to pull ย out ย so easily and quickly then go ahead.ย I am not going to keep trying to defend myself on this issue now, especially on a forum..... so this will be my last posting on the matter.
You came on a public forum to vent/ask for advice on a matter. You then proceed to delete the original thread and say you don't need to explain or justify yourself in this matter. In the process an auction house who has built a business, employs workers, pays taxes has been dragged into this. I'm not absolving tate ward (because they did handle this horribly) but they did justify themselves with how they responded.
So just to understand the situation better, you're refusing to pay because they wouldn't allow you to pay half with CC when Tate said they would? And based on this you're standing a moralistic ground not to deal with scum auction houses that reneg on terms that they originally changed just for you.

Heritage Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ, by jluhiex on May 17, 2020 21:04:05 GMT 1, They have sold fake kaws (karimoku and nfc sorayama) along with bearbricks. If there is any sort of provenance it's always "private seller" or "it came from a very trusted seller".
With that being said, they did refund me for the fake but the process took a few months. With anything under 5k is the director/specialist/head of/expert really going to take the time to go through 1000's of kaws, bearbrick, nara posters, ephermera? Especially with urban/street art the experts are on the forums...although most have left from the bickering and thirsty nature of this game.

Bukowskis Auctions ๐ธ๐ช, by jluhiex on Nov 12, 2019 20:32:29 GMT 1, Condition wise the one in Bukowskis today done very well.ย ive always been surprised that CWSB never took off like Stop and Search did.
It's a polarizing image especially since 30% of the world is Christian. Although its a satire on commercialism rather than religion I think most people of faith would find it taboo to display something like that. Considering its rarity it should do much better at auction but people love bubbly/familiar images...GWRB, Pulp Fiction, S&S. Most people are scared off by napalm, TM etc

Buying ART on a Forum, by jluhiex on Sept 27, 2019 20:48:57 GMT 1, If it's face to face then paypal f&f after you receive and inspect the print. This can be easily done on your phone. Seller is charged a fee for regular transactions (2.9% for US) so even at a $10000 usd print you are only looking at $290. If you find out later the print has any issues you have 6 months to dispute the charge. Are You sure? I thought there was no recourse with friends and family (gift) edit , just checked, You're right itstillworks.com/refund-money-paypal-gift-sent-21603.htmlSo bank transfer or cash is the only fully protected way for the seller? I meant protection for buyer if paid through a regular paypal transaction (non f&f). Cash, F&F, and bank transfer benefit seller and buyer has no recourse.
I purchased an item through using this forum and it turned out being fake. Luckily the seller rectified the situation but I did have the paypal option as recourse. If it's bank wire/cash forget about it...only public shaming is available and good luck ever getting your money back even if reported to the proper authorities.

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by jluhiex on Sept 22, 2019 6:36:58 GMT 1, These prints stickers when framed will never fall off. I do not see the issue, I have works with stickers that have remained intact & verso for the last 250+ years. Not to worry Not to be a STICKERler...but I don't think adhesive paper has been around for 250+ years. I could be wrong though...
