Sold: Curiot - Original Acrylic "Resurrection", by Eryos on Mar 10, 2017 23:30:10 GMT 1, Thx. Personally I prefer his early work. Currently I own what I think was his first silkscreen print, at that time it was just $10 USD, kind of insane!!! His current work is valued in several hundreds. (no idea about the silkscreens because he did not released many)
I do like all his work, but I hope he evolves from the Tron era soon
I will share some pictures in the near future.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Mar 10, 2017 23:23:53 GMT 1, Well this will be my second try to do this Saner evolution, last time an error in the forum trashed all my post, but this time I have a copy in word, so lets see.
Saner started working on street art as, I guess, everyone else; as a side personal project while keeping an office job. This little by little grew until it became his life.
2006 During this time, it was mostly commercial posters and art toys, together with some experimentation in the walls.
2007 One of the first murals, in collaboration with Seher. His style as you can see was still evolving and not yet defined, this is the few examples where the masks are not primordial.
2008 His work on walls increased, perfecting his style with each work
2009 The POW exhibition, which I think was incredible. He also kept working outside on random surfaces.
2010 According to him, this was the moment when he feels that everything took meaning with his first solo exhibition โ108 Minutos de Vidaโ. From that exhibition only this video remain. Watch it and you will understand why.
2011 - 2015 I can say the rest is history, Saner keep working, creating incredible pieces, participating in more exhibitions.
2016 Exhibition in Lyon
He is mostly working for inside walls now, but still from time to time he does an outside wall.
2017 His latest print which sadly I was not able to acquire, it sold in 10 minutes ๏ but well I am watching for another one.
Let me know your thoughts. What do you think so far

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Mar 10, 2017 15:45:44 GMT 1, So yesterday I had the opportunity to attend to an exhibition curated by Chuleria about a collective called Carga Mรกxima. These guys are from Peru, but because I'm in general writing of the scene in Mรฉxico I decided to post a little bit of them here.
You can find more about them here: Facebook page
They specialize in calligraphy which even if it is not my style it catches my attention because I have heard of Eine, but I had never heard of Carga Mรกxima, the only difference was the marketing done by each one.
Well I will leave some pictures and I will try to upload a video. Everything they do is handmade no silkscreen print or anything, from my point of view this has a merit of their own.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Mar 8, 2017 17:38:46 GMT 1, I found this ranking of Latin American Urban artists by All City Canvas, I think it is word watching. The only one that has some mention here are Os Gemeos, probably thanks to their collaboration with Banksy...I don't know.

Banksy โข Medicom โข Brandalised , by Eryos on Mar 8, 2017 17:24:09 GMT 1, If anyone is wondering about these, then I just had confirmation from Pest Control that these are not endorsed by Banksy and he has not been involved in any way. Just to remove any doubt! This is a late late reply Thanks happyshopper. Yep they are not related to Banksy in anyway, This one even has some slight differences from the original sculpture. But right now it is the closest thing I can get to a Banksy.
It is damn expensive for a toy, but probably if I have an opportunity to acquire a Banksy in the future I will be able to sell this at least for the same amount or a little less, I hope it's resale price don't crash.
Anyway I will tell you how good or bad it is when I receive it. I bet the next one Brandalism and Medicom toys will release is the Ballerina resin sculpture. That one I think it was an edition of 6 from 2005, but right now the price is insane.

VALUATION โข Art Valuation Advice, by Eryos on Mar 7, 2017 22:01:08 GMT 1, I was wondering about something about Gabriel Orozco (you can Google him to know a little bit more). His most recent exhibition is taking place now, it has created some debate which I am not going to touch right now. What interests me is to know your opinion about a particular item. Every attendee of the exhibition (around 20 to 30 people daily) is receiving an "OrozcoBill" which you can change for almost any article inside the exhibition, except any article that was intervened by him. So basically you can get free chips or bread or anything from the store, so in fact the only Orozco work you can really get is the OrozcoBill you got in the first place, which is nothing more than a digital print on which it would at the same time be really similar to any unsigned/unnumbered open edition digital print from other artists.
So what do you think the value of this "bill" could be when normally any Orozco work is valued in thousands of dollars, for example any work of this exhibition is valued between $15,000 USD to $55,000 USD depending on the art piece.
You can see the bill here:

, by Eryos on Mar 3, 2017 19:08:10 GMT 1, I will just say that one way or the other he managed to turn worlds attention to a lapidated city that goes mostly ignored. Several organizations had tried to bring attention to that side of the wall, now some additional eyes will look that way. He wants us to look at Palestina, and that he did.

Banksy โข Medicom โข Brandalised , by Eryos on Feb 24, 2017 20:35:39 GMT 1, Hi, I might be bringing this thread to life, but I have a question. Medicom released the sucide bomber which...even if it expensive for a toy I would like to have, but I think that the page to buy from overseas is not working Had anyone else have this issue? www.medicomtoy.co.jp/search/12107.htmlAlso, the other toys were released for a limited time, not limited edition, do any one here understand if this bomber will follow the same dynamic? With the other figures, even in japanese it was clear, but for this one I don't understand. I don't think you can buy from Medicom outside Japan. You'll have to find another store selling them. I've not seen this "Suicide Man" statue before... I hope Pest Control sue them! The others were a 3D version of a Banksy stencil... but this is a direct reproduction of an existing Banksy artwork. Dodgy ground!
The suicide bomber was displayed during the Banksy vs Bristol museum in 2009 I think you can even see it in the trailer he released in YouTube.
In Medicom there is a link to buy overseas
I was not really convinced about the others, but I liked a lot this rendition of the David

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Feb 22, 2017 20:49:34 GMT 1, Some great pieces there. And since your well positioned, can you find me some Pablo Delgado pieces! Well, in fact he lives in London and has never made an exposition in Mexico, the nearest he had been was in Los Angeles USA in 2015.
I will keep an eye for his work in the galleries, but not sure i will ever find something from him here.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Feb 22, 2017 19:52:15 GMT 1, Complementing that article about Smithe, I want to show you a little bit of his work evolution. As everyone else, Smithe went through experimentation until he was able to master his technique and find what would make it unique.
That allowed him from random, still interesting drawings, like this one
To the first seeds of what would define his artwork:
From there it was just a matter of practice, each time adding more elements of that psychedelic ciberpunk art:
He also participated and mixed his work with several other artists, national and international. Here we have an example with Okuda:
Through all his career Smithe had created his own brand and store, Tony Delfino, where he now sells clothes with the art of several other artists, he learned to tattoo, and hand been able to take his artwork over seas like this mural in Marrakech:
upload pic Smithe's art evolution had gone through big lengths. In my opinion he is a great artist who had been able to master his work. I will finish with some pics of his latests silkscreen, one is a zoom that shows the level of detail printed.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Feb 21, 2017 16:44:07 GMT 1, Something that sometimes is interesting to look at is the evolution of the street artists, but usually it has a level of difficulty to keep track of it due to the ephemeral nature of their works. Thanks to the internet this is changing but still you need to do a lot of digging.
I was lucky to find some of the early works of L3sup3rd3mon, lucky enough to even find a pic of his blackbook.
Goliath in the blackbook
Goliath Mural
You can see that his early works were a little bit more plain, but you can still appreciate his signature geometric style that remaing is his more recent art works.
upload image
Here you can see some of his art work for that inside walls
Also common in his work are themes like cycles, loops, life and death. Looking at his art work is like having a glimpse to a weird dream of some mad philosopher. Completely different to what happens to the curiotli world from Curiot who also toys with strange creatures and meanings.
Usually you don't need to see his signature to recognize his hand.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Feb 20, 2017 23:40:28 GMT 1, There is quite a list of artists who had move from tags and lettering to bigger works. I will post some examples here.
If there is one mexican urban artist you could have heard of, it is Saner, he is one of the most known artists we currently have. He had been around since 2006 (more less), and until today he had been able to have solo exhibition in the US, Mexico, France, and you can find his murals in Germany, US, Mexico, France, Marruecos and some other countries. This Mural is called "Union del pueblo" ...something like Union of the people
From this other artists I will add some description later on:
Smithe The mural is "Ella" it could be translated as Her Everytime I see any of his works it is like watching some japanese cyberpunk anime. Its work is always full of smooth colors that together create a definite shape. A common element that is persistent with his work (not present on this particular mural) is the disassembling of the character. Also all his murals are faces...or things that seem like faces
Curiot The mural is Quetzen-tul, there is no translation because it is a name All his works are related to a world of mystical creatures he call curiotlis. His works had allowed him to have several solo exhibitions around the world.
Seher The Flight of the Stingray. There is one word that can describe his work, dynamism. His work is always full of color and movement.
L3Sup3rD3mon "Brujeria" Witchcraft You can recognize his geometric style everywhere and if you thought that Curiot had alucinations with weird creatures, this guy is far over that. His works are always full of meaings and intricate designs.
News As far as I know this one has no name She has been paining for more than ten years and had participated in exhibitions like Meeting Styles, Aglomerado, Constructoys, DIY Wars, Homogrosso, and many others.

Mexico's Street Art/Urban Art, by Eryos on Feb 20, 2017 18:41:24 GMT 1, Hi, First of all. I did not found a thread (recent) about Mexican artists. I did found there are forums for most of the continents and because Canada, USA and Mรฉxico are all part of North America I decided to start this thread. If this is the wrong place, please let me know and I will move or create it again in the correct place.
I am no expert, but I know a few artists here. I will try to post information about them, events (there are several print sales, expositions and events organized through all the year), photos of their work, not all photos will be mine, and if there are interventions in Mexico from other international known artists I will also post them.

WHAT ART WILL YOU BE AFTER IN 2017?, by Eryos on Feb 9, 2017 16:23:37 GMT 1, Well this year I was hopping for some Invader, but after the answer from OTI I guess it will be out of the picture. Also I have my eyes on a Curiot and a Saner and if he releases a better print than the last flag a D*Face.

New invader show in January 2017, by Eryos on Feb 9, 2017 15:14:13 GMT 1, I don't know if everything was sold or just a few pieces were for sale. I sent a mail to Over The Influence to ask and after several days they replied:
"Please see attached for the available artwork list. Currently, we still have ROM_42 available, out of the image you sent me, thatโs the one you like. It is priced at $45,000 EUR. It is unlikely this will remain available for long so please let me know ASAP. As you know the exhibition will be one year long and once a sale is confirmed, the buyer will be required to sign a 3 year non resale agreement."
I asked for several pieces, but from my list only one was available >_< It is kind of unfair. I sent the mail since January 1st
