Mrs Banksy, by chefd on Jul 26, 2020 1:38:48 GMT 1, The thing that has always confused me about Mrs. Banksy is, why is she in the Banksy sub-forum?
Why can't she be moved to her own sub?

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Jul 26, 2020 1:36:16 GMT 1, If you had a Banksy or other piece of art that appreciated hugely, and so the vast majority of its value was "profit", one could look at a number of ways to invest. My preference is property.
Say you had a GDP Thrower and you got a £100k for it, you could get 5 £80k terraces on 25% mortgages in the northwest, bringing in about £300 after all costs/management fees. Not a huge sum and you would have an income tax to pay.
But, if you are a lower rate taxpayer, you would be bringing in £1500 per month* (£1200 after-tax), which could be enough to alleviate a lot of stress in some people's lives by covering mortgage payments. Those funds could also be saved up to purchase the 6th property in 18 months and so on and so forth leading to a very nice income from a decent portfolio in 10 years' time if you continue to re-invest.
So, that £100k could be life-changing for the longterm if approached with patience... and you may even have some capital growth down the line too.
*yes there are voids and maintenance, mortgage fees etc etc to factor in, this is just a basic example.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Jul 21, 2020 21:10:31 GMT 1, I understand all these items were sold directly to buyers for substantial amounts, whilst still being below market value.
My personal opinion is there will be no round 2, unless round 2 is all new products.
More likely is that a handful of prints/items were kept back to start Bbay off.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Jul 19, 2020 2:38:51 GMT 1, I firmly believe that there will not be around 2, and if there is, I can't see it happening, or Bbay until they have finished producing and shipping products from round 1.

If you don’t mask you don’t get, by chefd on Jul 15, 2020 2:10:25 GMT 1, From the BBC today....
Transport for London (TfL) said the art was removed "some days ago" in line with its "strict anti-graffiti policy".
and...
The statement from TfL said it appreciated "the sentiment of encouraging people to wear face coverings". "We'd like to offer Banksy the chance to do a new version of his message for our customers in a suitable location," it added.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Jun 30, 2020 1:33:50 GMT 1, I don't get all the fuss over keeping the original packaging... the art is within the packaging... you don't see pieces listed at Christie's as coming with the original packaging, because it's not the thing people are parting cash for.
If it was a piece without a COA I can understand it a little bit. Just a little tiny bit.

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Jun 3, 2020 2:27:50 GMT 1, Except for the bit that says something along the lines of: the contract isnt complete until the item is shipped....
So yes, there is another way to interpret it.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 25, 2020 12:21:52 GMT 1, I forget the precise wording but the image has been screen printed on archival paper... so I’m sure they just ordered a bunch of clocks wholesale, discarded the original insert and replaced It with there hand smudged version.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 24, 2020 8:39:28 GMT 1, A lot of the available items were listed as x number (available now).
Speculation as to whether that meant more would be available in a possible round 2, or sold direct at higher prices (which seems to be the case).
To me, the available later bit, will refer to items available to purchase on baby when launched.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 23, 2020 22:08:33 GMT 1, I believe the 300 figure came from someone who said they had purchased a Thrower directly and their receipt stated it was of an edition of 300 and would come framed.
Speculation (fair) that only the direct purchases would arrive framed.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 23, 2020 22:04:29 GMT 1, Thrower dimensions from GDP show card:
110 x 210 x 4 cm
Anyone hasten to guess what this 4 cm depth refers too?
What were the dimensions given for the Bansquiat?

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 21, 2020 20:39:56 GMT 1, My opinion... there will not be a second round, all remaining "stock" will be sold via Bbay.
Also my opinion... all the Throwers will come framed, and will not be prints but editioned originals, hence the amazing level of detail each one will exhibit.
So there you go.... lol

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 19, 2020 10:30:00 GMT 1, Fantastic piece and lucky you!!!
Hope you will find a nice spot to have it on show.
Looks like the Throwers are going to be the last out of the shop door in round 1. Surely cant be too far off now as things look to have been moving slowly in the background despite the CV-19 lockdown.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 15, 2020 9:30:57 GMT 1, He says he doesn't own one, but what would someones motivation be, who joins the forum and posts only about one print and only about the value of that print?
Seems odd to me.
*he did post one time about the GDP mat

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 15, 2020 9:13:06 GMT 1, SirArthur is pumping his print to the moon!
Since joining all he has posted about is this piece.
April 1st - easily fetch over 80,000£
April 2nd - Banksquiat print will surely have the highest price of them all.
April 3rd - There is no doubt that in auction houses after two years price will be much higher than 100,000 £
April 5th - 2 years with PC COA it will be 100,000£ and price will go on every 5 years
May 9th - Oh dear buying BANKSQUIAT without COA is such a big risk considering print price will easily pass more than 130000£ price.
May 10th - Price will go up and up, next price level 130000£
12 hours ago - I’ve heard rumors from some serious galleries that Chinese collectors are willing to pay more than 160000£ for a print with COA
42 minutes ago - 180000£ easily gonna happen in 5 years period.
I have a feeling that with price inflation like this, SirArthur may have grown up in Zimbabwe!
He does give some great advice though - 13 hours ago "Yes Sir, skip unprofessional service always".... at least you cant say you weren't warned lol!

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by chefd on May 12, 2020 20:12:23 GMT 1, The red edition F&F was sold for £25 with free postage to the UK is quite a deal considering the black edition was sold for £125 plus p&p..... today's offering was not only well priced but unfairly priced if you bought one of the other editions.
