WTT: Banksy unsigned GWB for Grin Reaper, by Friendly Ghost on Nov 13, 2013 16:15:14 GMT 1, Thanks for the guidance...
I wanted to try once more to see if anyone might be interested in trading their Grin Reaper for my unsigned Girl With Balloon (with COA). Seems like it'd be a good deal financially speaking, since it would appear that the Reaper is going for about ยฃ4200-4500, while I've been receiving cash offers of ยฃ5K for the GWB.
So with apologies for the additional delay to folks on IM who have be waiting to hear, please let me know if you have a Reaper and want to trade.
If I don't find a taker for a swap in the next day or two, I'll go ahead and sell the GWB for cash (with perhaps a bias toward US buyers, since I'm in California)... and then I'll be looking for anyone willing to part with a GR (for maybe even slightly over recent asking prices)...
Thanks.

Anyone interested?

Chloe Early ๐ฎ๐ช New Paintings โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by Friendly Ghost on Nov 25, 2009 19:32:33 GMT 1, Thanks Anodyne. I saw the Blk Mrkt one. The price is right, but the woman isn't necessarily a diver (though she's in a bathing suit). Going Rate for Neates?, by Friendly Ghost on Sept 29, 2009 15:09:32 GMT 1, To cardiff's question about framing... For what it's worth, I took a cue from how Mr. Frameman did the Neates he sold a little while back and framed my PWG in a thick, white shadowbox frame with a narrow (maybe 2 in.) mat (so it wouldn't be too huge). The deep frame does an amazing job of adding even more dimensionality to a print that already feels like it's 3D. I'd highly recommend the approach.

Finding Banksy work in New York , by Friendly Ghost on Jun 7, 2008 7:23:35 GMT 1, Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find some of Banksy's work on the street in Manhattan? I have a free day tomorrow, and would love to check out some of his stuff while I'm here. I don't know if I'll be able to get down into Brooklyn, so I'm wondering in particular if there's anything in Manhattan itself.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Finally Fucked!, by Friendly Ghost on Jun 26, 2007 3:08:21 GMT 1, As someone who's worked with NGOs for about 15 years now, a 6 month delay in expected revenue could potentially be a nightmare.
Beejoir, is the Mercy Centre stable enough that this freeze by paypal isn't going to cause a crisis there? They look pretty sizeable, so I'm hoping they can weather the delay.
But if they're at risk of cashflow problems because of paypal's actions (inactions), maybe we ought to try to mobilize a little effort to raise funds... I'd be willing to forgo the next print that I'm tempted to buy, and I'd think that at least some other folks would be too...
Edit: I read this and it sounds like it's intended to somehow be a guilt trip, like when they ask at the market checkout if you'd like to give to some random cause--making you have to say no and feel like a greedy bastard for refusing. I don't mean to come across that way (sorry if I have).
2nd edit: well... Ok... maybe not forgo a print. I'm a newcomer addict... But maybe just give in addition to getting that next print.

Anyone got their u/s lv child yet?, by Friendly Ghost on Jul 5, 2007 17:16:30 GMT 1, Dundun
I had the same problem with one of the corners (and since there was no damage to the tube, I assumed it also had something to do with how the print was put in). I emailed Kate about it and they were great about getting another one out to me--Chris just put the replacement in the mail yesterday.
But I'd get in touch with them ASAP... If you look at SOS's terms and conditions:
Returns 1. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please inform us by email within 24 hours of receiving the goods. Please see the foot of this page for contact details. 2. All damages must be reported by email or telephone within 24 hours of the goods being received. Please see the foot of this page for contact details. Refunds If you are unhappy with any of our prints, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving the goods, we will either re-issue you with a replacement or refund you in full.

Ian Francis orig, Banksy GWB, SBFO/40 +, by Friendly Ghost on Sept 30, 2007 13:49:21 GMT 1, My apologies folks. Didn't mean to waste anyone's time. I'm in the final steps of working things out now, but I think I've got it figured out finally. Thanks everyone for all of the interest... And sorry if I caused any trouble.

Ian Francis orig, Banksy GWB, SBFO/40 +, by Friendly Ghost on Sept 27, 2007 7:41:46 GMT 1, Thanks to everyone for all of the messages... I havenโt been able to find any other Ian Francis originals that have been put on the market, so, to be honest, I donโt have a great sense of how much I should be asking for.
Iโd hoped to get a sense of value from the offers people ended up making, but out of about two dozen messages, only two people actually put forward numbers.
One of the offers was a good one, but I really do need to sell it for as much as I can, so after chatting with a few people about what to do, Iโm thinking that it probably makes the most sense to just put the canvas up for auction and see what the value ends up looking like.
So I've gone ahead and posted it on ebay...
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130157670547
I'd much prefer to sell it to a forum member though, so if anyone knows of a better way to do this, let me know and I'll cancel the auction.
And just for convenience, here are some pictures of the actual piece, although you can see it in greater detail at:

Ian Francis orig, Banksy GWB, SBFO/40 +, by Friendly Ghost on Sept 26, 2007 18:18:04 GMT 1, I've finally found a house (no small feat in the San Francisco area real estate market), but sadly, it means that I'm going to have to let go of almost all of my art collection...
So with great regret, I've got available:
- Ian Francis, original canvas, Three People Escape on a Lifeboat
- Banksy Girl With Balloon (unsigned), framed
- Beejoir, Shell Blood for Oil, from the edition of 40 on Iraqi Dinars
- Stella Im Hultberg, Into the Wind
- Dave Kinsey, Social Distortion (FS, as opposed to the diptych), edition of 20.
- James Cauty, Postal Strike 8th Class, edition of 200
Please PM me with offers if you're interested... (apologies if it takes me a little while to respond, it's a busy work week)
Edit: I've got full provenance for everything...

Ian Francis canvasses, by Friendly Ghost on Jun 8, 2007 1:19:09 GMT 1, Though conversation seems to have shifted to the prints from red propeller, if anyone is interested in the earlier prints (with the larger print run) that are available at several places...
If you go to collectorsprints.co.uk (which already has the lowest prices for those prints) you seem to be able to get 15% more off the price by putting it in your basket and typing in CLUB15 into the special offer code box. The code's not listed on the site anymore as it was earlier, but it looks like it still works.
Here's the link to the four Ian Francis pieces... www.collectorsprints.co.uk/search_results.php?keyword=ian%20francis

Ian Francis canvasses, by Friendly Ghost on Jun 5, 2007 15:17:07 GMT 1, Depends on whether you're in the EU or not. For me, slowmo would win.
And I don't know about other folks, but for me... the three at redpropeller that aren't yet sold out aren't as appealing as the three that are.
Justinkase, do you have any other information about the show in LA? Where is it supposed to be?
