Banksy โข Soup Cans Poster, by spirit on May 24, 2017 20:50:03 GMT 1, Just checked and mine (also bought direct from POW) is EXACTLY the same as Silky's - including exactly the same imperfections in every letter of the signature - which strongly suggests the signature was printed not hand stamped

Invader Albino Print, by spirit on May 24, 2017 19:27:44 GMT 1, Well I thought I had this sold but buyer withdrew to "imperfections" in the printing.
In my images you can see a very fine vertical, broken black line that goes over the two white tiles above and below the red right eye tile. You can also see where the black plate is slightly bleeding into the two yellow squares in the bottom right corner. These "imperfections" are part of the screen printing process
I've spoken to another Albino owner who says his has similar marks and I've seen an image on google that seems to have the same vertical black line above and below the red right eye (hard to be 100% sure due to resolution) but would be interested to hear from other owners if their print has printing imperfections like these in the black plate.
I'm inclined to think anyone looking for a perfectly printed Albino for sale is likely to die of old age before they find one...
Other than these printing imperfections mine is in as near mint condition as a 12 year old print could be and I am currently looking for offers at ยฃ7k+
thanks.

Invader Albino Print, by spirit on May 20, 2017 11:46:37 GMT 1, Good to clarify that signed version does not POW embossed stamp and the unsigned does have the POW embossed stamp. On the signed, Invader writes the number, whilst on the unsigned, the edition number is written within the POW stamp. Not true, my signed version has the POW stamp. I think the only thing we can say for certain is that back in 2005 when these prints cost ยฃ50 or so, POW were not quite as consistent and diligent about things as they are now!

Liverpool Banksy Rat removed, by spirit on May 20, 2017 10:35:05 GMT 1, Sad to discover tonight that the last of Banksy's 2004 Liverpool Rats has been lifted from it's home in Wood Street Liverpool after all the years protected by the roller shutters of the old Argos store. Booooo!
On the plus side, it's been replaced by a Rothko.
Made my morning Dr Plip!

Invader Albino Print, by spirit on May 18, 2017 20:35:26 GMT 1, Haha - yep, I bought mine back in 07 I think, 3rd print I ever bought. Paid 300 for it and thought it was a bit too much!
Just been back through my old PMs. Bought it from someone on the forum in Sept 07 and paid ยฃ235 for it. It was an Eine Circus bought around the same time I paid ยฃ300 for.
Eine worth more than Invader... how times have changed.

Invader Albino Print, by spirit on May 18, 2017 12:43:57 GMT 1, I am considering the sale of my Signed Albino Invader. I've considered this before then decided against selling as I love it but what with current prices I think I would let this go now if I get the right offer.
I honestly have no idea on current price as these almost never come up for sale, so I am inviting best offers. It is in excellent condition, stored flat etc and I will post pics later on today or tomorrow. Print is located in Hampton, SW London. As a rough guide to price I am guessing these must be worth over ยฃ6k now but how much over I don't know - I guess it is worth what someone who really wants it is willing to pay for it.
I would consider shipping overseas but in that scenario would require payment by bank transfer in a advance of shipping. I have shipped an invader to a US buyer on the forum before.
I am in no rush to sell this and if the right offer doesn't come along at this time that's fine - but I thought I would put it out there and see.
Please send offers and expressions of interest by PM. thanks.

Houses on the market, by spirit on May 10, 2017 0:16:46 GMT 1, When you're hanging art on the back of a door, you have too much art. even more so when you have to place a scupture in front of the door so you can't even open it...

Eelus NEISBAW / ATR HF / Pejac Seppuku All sold, by spirit on Apr 20, 2017 21:50:26 GMT 1, Protip: wait more than 10 minutes before agreeing to a sale. Good on you for keeping your deal though. Very respectable. Nah, the higher offer always comes in just after you agree the deal, no matter how long you wait before. It's a fundamental law of the universe.

Paddle8 Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ BANKRUPT , by spirit on Apr 20, 2017 20:08:51 GMT 1, Bit gutted having sold my red invasion last year after seeing the price in this one! Even more so as I'm wondering if the one being sold was mine... same frame, same framer... Not really been following things - can anyone explain the recent Invader price explosion please? Hey Steve.......it is indeed the same one ๐ฌ A bit sad to see this little guy go but the only way I can afford Invader now is to sell Invader. Haha - fair enough and congrats on the sale! Just glad I ended up hanging onto my signed Albino after coming very close to selling it twice, then deciding at last minute that I just couldn't let it go. With these prices though temptation is raising its head again...
Is there any particular reason for what seems like an 8-10x increase in Invader prices over the last year or so? I can't remember seeing anything quite like it - even Banksy never increased that quickly!

FS: Blek Tango, Eine Elton Drk, Logan Hicks Sunset Apartment, by spirit on Nov 28, 2015 2:04:40 GMT 1, Can't believe that Hicks is there ripe for picking at ยฃ200. It's a cracking print and the frame would cost that alone. I know mate - surprised it hasn't gone at that price - it looks great on the wall.
Maybe I should advertise it as a smart grey frame with triple mount that comes with a free Logan Hicks print?

FS: Blek Tango, Eine Elton Drk, Logan Hicks Sunset Apartment, by spirit on Nov 27, 2015 19:02:48 GMT 1, After agreeing a deal on the Blek Tango with a well known gallery, the gallery decided to stop responding to my messages before we could complete... Didn't say that they changed their mind or wanted to back out, just went silent... Par for the course with some members on here I know but honestly I expected better from a gallery. Silly me.So... the Blek is for sale again! I had a lot of interest from the US first time round but would prefer a UK deal if possible due to it being framed. The Eine and the Hicks are also still available. If interested, please send me a PM. thanks. Are you comfortable disclosing which well-known gallery treated you in this manner? I'd be interested to know, whether via this thread, the Not So Good Dealings With: thread, or private message โ to make a note for future reference of whom to be wary or avoid entirely. Private individuals form a heterogenous group of buyers and sellers, but it is reasonable to expect a higher standard of professionalism (including basic courtesy) from businesses. And when the latter are found wanting in this regard, it seems fair they be called out for it. However, I appreciate that publicly naming the gallery is potentially a bridge-burning exercise you may prefer to sidestep. I'm not going to disclose which gallery it was. While it was frustrating and I expected better, no real damage was done and if I call them out publicly I think it would be doing them much more harm than they did me. However I do hope they read my post and behave a bit more professionally in future. As you say - basic courtesy really shouldn't be too much to expect from a business.
I sold the Blek to someone else on the day I made that post about the gallery so all's well that end's well.

Banksy HW only make ยฃ37,500 at Phillips today****, by spirit on Oct 16, 2015 0:13:18 GMT 1, Please do forgive me if I speak out of turn here. I am not only new to this forum but also to collecting art. Having said that, I was speaking to Bonhams not too long ago about their upcoming auction and prices. I was told and I quote "auction prices are always much, much lower than gallery prices, some times ten or fifteen times lower and they do not necessarily represent market value of an art work". Make of it what you will. If you swapped "are always" with "can be" then I'd generally agree. Possibly also swap "sometimes" with "occasionally even as much as".
Auction prices are certainly not "always" lower. Some of the record prices for a given artist's work are from auctions not galleries.
Also take what auctioneers say about the prices at their own auctions with a pinch of salt. It's their job to encourage you to bid.

Banksy or Not?, by spirit on Oct 16, 2015 0:04:21 GMT 1, Thanks everyone. Case closed. yes , but why this question so ? Even my grandma makes better stencils ( pasted rather ) Or maybe you are the artist , if so , sorry
The point of the question was to definitively resolve a Twitter dispute about whether this piece was or was not by Banksy, by asking an unbiased panel of "experts" (the fine and upstanding members of this forum) to confirm the stated opinion of a random guy on Twitter (me) that this was not a Banksy.
I knew it wasn't a Banksy. I knew everyone here would know it wasn't a Banksy for all the reasons stated. The 100% No vote was exactly what I was expecting - but a certain group on Twitter were stating that it was a Banksy and as no one else seemed to be correcting that mistaken view, I thought I should, particularly when one of them was claiming it was in Banksy's "unmistakable" style (ironic choice of word given he was mistaken...). So I started this thread and posted a link to it on twitter.
A bit of background...
The piece is supposed to represent Turkish president Erdogan (with the bag of cash) and his son (picking up the falling notes). It was put up recently (probably by Kurds or anti-goverment Turks) and defaced almost instantly (almost certainly by pro-government Turks).
Kurds on Twitter were claiming that Banksy's art had been destroyed by Turks.
For the record I am neither Kurd nor Turk nor the artist. I just didn't like to see Banksy's name attached to a work that as others have said is just "wrong" nor used as a pawn in a Kurd/Turk dispute.

Banksy or Not?, by spirit on Oct 15, 2015 14:02:43 GMT 1, Some people on Twitter are claiming this piece in Green Lanes as being by Banksy
I've told them it's not but they are not taking my word for it...
So I said I'd post here here and get the forum's opinion...
Please vote and feel free to explain your reasons in the thread - thanks.
