Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by sakyamuni on Oct 18, 2013 11:00:45 GMT 1, I agree completely. Punching someone to defend street art ??! Remember: -Graffiti writers are not real villains. I am always reminded of this by real villains who consider the idea of breaking in someplace, not stealing anything and then leaving behind a painting of your name in four foot high letters the most retarded thing they ever heard of -crime against property is not real crime Are you Banksy? Because I'm sure iv read that quote from one of his books? congrats, you found me :)Please don't report to NYPD...

How would u feel is someone went to your mums house and drew a load of s**t on it. Not even good s**t. What about if they decided to draw some offensive stuff too or even a swastika. Still no crime? ask banksy, it is taken from his guide to cutting stencils

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by sakyamuni on Oct 18, 2013 8:30:39 GMT 1, Long time lurker and first ever post, and i hate to pop my cherry on a negative note but that image of the guy on the ground feels really like mob mentality.its one thing to appreciate art but to beat on someone like that for tagging is over the top. Dont get me wrong i dont like the fact that he destroyed the image for others and its an interesting social commentary in and of itself it just makes me think were will this social experiment end. I guess its the voyeurism factor i dont like. I wonder if banksy took this into consideration? I agree completely. Punching someone to defend street art ??! Remember:

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by sakyamuni on Oct 15, 2013 21:45:10 GMT 1, my .02 1. lets dispense with the patriotic bulls**t. at best a small team of Saudi's grabbed planes and flew them into high value targets in the US, to which the US decided to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, two countries that have absolutely ZERO to do with the attack. at worst the US government and other international interests conspired to let atrocities happen to American citizens and then leveraged that crisis to use force to protect the dollar as the reserve currency and apply pressure to Iran in a multi trillion dollar pipeline deal. And if you really eat the co co puffs, we played a part in it and did more than just sit back. 2. I can name 100 incidents that have happened globally that have lead to more loss of life than 9/11 although I entirely agree that the thousands upon thousands of deaths and complete lack of civil liberties that came of it is easily the greatest atrocity since WWII. How about turning an entire island into a nuclear testing ground, moving the indigenous people off, starving them half to death and leaving them without the ability to access their ancestral land effectively ending their way of life. How about taking 600 rural share croppers and giving them syphilis under the guise of healthcare and leaving it untreated till it crippled them in the name of science. How about.. you get my point. So, if you are going to stand behind an artist who regularly tries to pull back the veil on the absurdity of our modern existence, how about pulling back your veil, put down the flag, and realize that be it on purpose of just by good use of crisis your government convinced you that your are a victim in a world where we enforce extreme poverty on much of the world because of our desire for cheap plastic s**t and we force every country on the planet to use our dollars to buy commodities thereby enslaving them to world banking cartel and violating their rights to fruits of their own labor and national assets. sorry sin but no, i don't see your point...The people who died on 9/11 where innocent civilians, just like the innocent civilians who died later on in Afghanistan and Irak. And this is a tragedy when people die for nothing, wherever it happens. And for your information, no, the irak/afghanistan war is not the greatest atrocity since wwII, very far from that. More people were killed in Rwanda in 10 weeks than in the past 10 years in Irak/afghanistan. A genocide was happening in Europe twenty years ago (remember Srebrenica?) More than a million people were killed after the separation between india and pakistan. And the list can go on and on and on... Maybe you could make your point without forgetting these people ? It does not make it stronger.

WTB: Charming Baker Half-pint NYC, by sakyamuni on Oct 15, 2013 19:47:44 GMT 1, Thanks for the head-up tuftynuts but i'm excited to say that I got a Half-pint NYC from a great forum member. Really happy with it and it's even better in person than I had imagined - the blues/purples in his jumper add a real element of depth that I hadn't noticed before! I'll be sure to add some pics when I get the chance. Thanks to everyone for their help, really appreciated. congrats
