Rauschenberg's Pig, by Henry Gale Was Here on May 17, 2010 18:43:20 GMT 1, Personaly not to sure of this. I brought the Connect The Dots, and like this but sorry i just dont get this .. Not knocking the execution or overal look just fail to seethe reason ?. What am i missing?
What I think is, Rauschemberg and the whole Dada thing is about art from nothing, right? Anything can be art (toilet, goat w/ tire on it). So that's what this one is, eye candy art.
And it's got the whole donut and pigs thing (done w/ banksy, dolk, etc before) with some large halftoning and paint cans, a la the "street art" movement.
So for me anyway, it's taking all these things and throwing them together to make, essentially, art out of nothing. Just my two cents worth- and I think it's gonna look great- nice and colorful, can't wait to see it in person! ;D

Rauschenberg's Pig, by Henry Gale Was Here on May 12, 2010 19:57:30 GMT 1, ^^^I agree. Pigs and Donuts, now where have we seen that recently? Art like music is full of references to what has gone in the past. Rauscheberg tends to get overlooked by the populist eye.
I agree. People shouldn't be so hasty! The dots in the halftoning is what got me! ;D

The ยฃ50 Art Thread, by Henry Gale Was Here on Apr 16, 2010 1:55:51 GMT 1, I saw someone mention Chainsawhands- I saw this piece in person at a show in Minneapolis and the detail in it is mesmerizing, I had to get it!
I also found a detail pic somewhere on the net too
And it's only 75USD at www.armandochainsawhands.com and on nice thick paper too (mine came framed- got it after the show). Check it out!
