Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by Simococo on Feb 16, 2008 20:06:12 GMT 1, there were 6 Matt Small linocuts, hand finshed on VCRs and £1400 each and very cool. There were two on wood which were 1250 each too. He had to go to hospital for 2 hours after cutting his hand trying to open a bottle of lager too.......

Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by purser on Feb 16, 2008 20:28:56 GMT 1, Just returned from the show. had to queue for 1.5 hours in the bitter cold! I think I've lost a toe.
I managed to get myself the Slinkachu – 'The last kiss' for a very reasonable £150. Personally, nothing much else stood out for me in there. (I imagine that was because it was all a bit rich for my blood though!)
I don't know if I'm wrong. but I didn't see anything in there from Nick Walker?
Well happy with the Slinkachu edition – really enjoy his work.

Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by romanywg on Feb 16, 2008 20:54:36 GMT 1, The Blek rat prints were editions of 20 and £600 each. The rats looked more like cats to me. Dface collages £4,000. Editions on polished metal were around £3,750. Sorry, usually take pics of the prices but they wer just too dark and no price lists lying around. Forgot to say.... Matt cut his hand open on opening his first bottle of beer and so had to be rushed to hospital! www.flickr.com/photos/romanywg/sets/72157603923148539/

Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by romanywg on Feb 16, 2008 21:29:59 GMT 1, The earliest started queueing at 5am! They let people in 20 at a time but the plave soon got packed as a line cut right through the centre of the gallery as punters queued for Dface prints. I left at 5.30 and there was still around 60 people waiting to get in and it was bloody cold too. No one at all seemed to be interested in the printing process so I had them all to myself. Will post pics later.

Agree. I think the simple PopTart images on different color backgrounds at the LeVine show were simpler and much more appealing.

really disappointed with the D* content. I saw nothing there that weren;t variations on themes started over 2 years ago. and the street improvements stuff is essentially exactly the same as the stuff for sale at the opening of Stolen Space. I understand the point of view that these artists are scrutinised miles more than artists of old, and that in a career, two years isn't really that long. and that some artists entire career can be called a variation on a theme, but it don't stop me being disappointed.
