Paul Insect 'Out of Chaos' Show - New York 29/11, by Cardiff on Nov 20, 2012 15:59:43 GMT 1, This is a classic, was there only 10 or so of the glitter ones?
Thanks guys...yes, 10 unique colourways on the mica chip editions.
I'm hoping this show contains more works like the piece posted by Denada...guess we'll see.

Paul Insect 'Out of Chaos' Show - New York 29/11, by mylilly on Nov 21, 2012 20:58:26 GMT 1, For me the stencil works are very banksy esque. Even if he has worked for him, his own style (non stencil) is a lot stronger and original... The McDonalds stuff is a step to far, starting to look like a Banksy rip off. His graphic style is great, he should stick with that. His Post no Bills show in LA was way ahead of this stuff, look like he gone back 5 yrs.

I think it is well known, I remember reading it somewhere. I like the barcode piece, but the McDonalds and Animal stuff look like the ones Banksy rejected.

Love Pins work and 'Girl walking a Spider' is probably my favourite street stencil. If you haven't looked through the POW book + zine, they're excellent. www.picturesonwalls.com/Books_Authors.asp?Author=Paul%20Insect

Paul Insect 'Out of Chaos' Show - New York 29/11, by jusdeep on Nov 22, 2012 9:21:28 GMT 1, Not sure why recently in photos he's started hiding his identity, there are plenty of pictures out there of him and he's very recognisable although saying that the picture above looks nothing like him and was for the album cover design he did alongside Banksy of which he did a few.
As was said previously it's not new news that he's worked alongside, with, or even for Banksy. It's been documented in print and online. Paul is a creative and has worked with many of the guys in the scene. I've always been a big fan from the early days of his career and beforehand through his graphics work with Insect studios. He's always led the way, is a hive of great ideas and concepts and I for one am really looking forward to this new show. Yes, there look to be a few re-hashes but he hasn't done a lot recently and there's a market for his work globally and they are iconic works adapted for a different market. He has always taken to doing a UK/US version of a lot of his work.
He hasn't done a big solo show here for some time, (Newcastle Unit excluded) and I can't wait for him to do something on a grand scale. I think I'm right in saying he was due a show at Laz a couple of years ago and it didn't happen for what ever reason.

Agreed Jusdeep - i think this looks like a really strong body of work judging by the pics on Arrested Motion. It will be interesting to see if he has changed the Dead Rebels that I can see in one picture (looks like Jimi). The last show he did for Laz was the Poison show in 2009 which was allegedly in some old sex shop on Caledonian Road if I remember rightly.

Paul Insect 'Out of Chaos' Show - New York 29/11, by jusdeep on Nov 22, 2012 10:32:39 GMT 1, Poison was in an old Bath house/brothel on Caledonian road which more recently was a sex shop. Shame he hadn't found it sooner as it would have been more apt for his sex toys series. Was a great show, as was Bullion at Greek Street.
