I wouldn't consider this a new direction, but more of a representation of his process.
He usually does prepatory drawings/studies of the concepts before he throws down the stencils that he is known for. Stuff he normally doesn't put out for sale.
However on this ocassion, he has elected to edition one of these for Christmas.
If it ends up as a stencil, that's up to the artist.

As for the art, I prefer Roamcouch's stencil work, he is a ludicrously talented stencil artist but it is interesting to see these more process sketch style pieces.
I also love that every email from him addresses you as Homie.

A lot of them reminds me of jigsaw puzzle images. If only he could develop more matured, strong images that can make good use of his skills. That would be killer.
