Faile two new prints, by jones27 on Dec 21, 2012 22:07:31 GMT 1, Agreed, and I think as we have seen every colourway now, it's surely about time this thread was locked.... I got a feeling that next year is going to be very tedious and boring here if everyones insists on posting pics of the back, front and stamps of each one released Glorified rave flyers
Haha 'The Saved' definitely has an element of the old Dreamscape/Helter Skelter rave flyers (my bedroom walls were covered in them until i was 22). Im hoping Faile will hit the streets in the newyear and test out some new material, maybe mix things up with some collaborations with Bast and Aiko.
The 150 series is a great idea as I feel the original releases are (finally) settled on enthusiasts walls and as a result becoming rather rare. Im praying that 'master of love and fate' and 'Happens everyday' will see the light of day again.

Faile two new prints, by Con Art Studio on Dec 21, 2012 23:37:58 GMT 1, kind of defeats the purpose of faile calling this series the "150 series" if they are going to charge a couple hundred more than $150 no not really, it would still be $1500 cheaper than the low edition ones released this year Actually it would because the name, 150 series," refers to the $150 price point. If they were to charge more then it would no longer then it would be a different series.
It would be like complaining all prints in a series called "pink prints" are all pink and wishing they would so another color.

Faile two new prints, by connecta1 on Dec 22, 2012 0:36:34 GMT 1, ...your interest ended when your charity print went on eBay though
It's 'sad' that people get prints that they genuinely like? That they maybe always wanted but previously couldn't afford?
You seriously want to get a grip mate..

Faile two new prints, by connecta1 on Dec 22, 2012 0:51:22 GMT 1, ...I've no idea, times change, people and their financial situation changes, not sure I see that as a basis for spending time berating people who are (and I get that this is a pretty alien concept for some of you jaded types)... y'know, perhaps genuinely pretty chuffed to have got a nice Faile image on the wall on the cheap
It's nearly Christmas, surely you have something better to do with your evening?

More snipey, sh1te designed to get a rise out of people, the type of chatter I tell my 11 year old daughter to rise above and move on from
Whatever makes you happy I guess..

Anyway, hope you have a Christmas Eve epiphany, run out and buy a massive turkey and give all your prints away to orphans or something

Faile two new prints, by Deleted on Dec 22, 2012 4:55:52 GMT 1, Points included:
the images aren't new
That they are rather unimpressive in size
That the level of excitement seems disproportionate to what has been purchased
That I question the true level of love for this pieces and whether the price is the real driver for many
So sorry I wasn't clear enough old chap.
On the Christmas note I save my good cheer for real life, here's a bit of a joke innit..anyway
Festive greetings to you too connecta we almost had a meaningful discussion x

Faile two new prints, by Shoeless on Dec 22, 2012 6:23:55 GMT 1, While I can understand your point deputy...I think many are genuinely pleased to own these. Sure, weve seen these images before. Yes, the size is smaller than your typical Faile. And sure, much of it may be fueled by the all great, hype machine. What I dont think youre taking into consideration is, many of these were bought by previous fans who may not have the funds to hunt down a low edition, previously released print. I believe that was the artists intentions in releasing a cheaper alternative. Something small, with a bit less work, that would attract more collectors. Faile now has available art in everyones range- Canvas, Puzzle boxes, originals on paper, low edition prints, and now....higher edition prints. Now, do I hope for new images? I really do!! We'll see what the new year brings.
The one point that has been made I can agree with most is, we really dont need pages upon pages of every different variation....front and back. Frame them up then lets see some pics!!!
Hope everyone enjoys the holidays! Cheers

Faile two new prints, by Deleted on Dec 22, 2012 6:32:05 GMT 1, Thankyou shoeless a response of some merit, I do question the true 'pool' of collectors for Faile at this level but I'll let you have your optimism .
There's been a call for new imagery for a fair old time when it comes to Faile it doesn't seem to be happening ... The move into the native American imagery didn't seem to be wholly successful and so they fell back on their 'classics'

Sorry, completely missed what the series was called . Not sure ive complained anyway, just asked if some midrange prints will be available.

Faile two new prints, by rash on Dec 22, 2012 12:43:36 GMT 1, Agree with lamzero, I'm over the moon about owning my first faile. What's with all the negativity, why not be pleased for the people that have truly wanted one for a long time. So what it's cheaper, the owners can be proud to say they own a faile. Faile have probly made many people's Christmas this year.

Faile two new prints, by iamzero on Dec 22, 2012 15:25:13 GMT 1, These editions are frowned upon usually because the others that are fortunate enough to have bagged at source or have the cash to splash big money on higher priced pieces see it as devalueing their investment. Basically the people on the top deck of the Titanic sneering at the people in steerage. Love my Faile.

Faile just have to watch they don't upset their base of fans by undercutting their collections with cheaper knock offs (still high quality). However perhaps their old base is not there as much anymore and they are looking to develop a new younger market that never had a chance to buy into Faile.

Faile two new prints, by mouser on Dec 22, 2012 20:55:42 GMT 1, ( sorry, posted this in the wrong thread earlier by mistake) Having both a fair few older Faile pieces and been lucky enough to buy 2 of the new 150 series, happy with both sides. The 150 edition provide a nice chance to buy missed faile images at a fraction of their original cost. They are easily differentiated between older releases and new 150 series, so not sure why folk with older Faile pieces would be too bothered. People have different opinions obviously, but it seems the Patricks can do no right, folk complain of elitism if they release few high cost images, or cashing in if they sell larger cheaper editions.... no win. I personally like both older smaller editions and the new releases with the degree of hand finishing being more than expected..

Faile two new prints, by Deleted on Dec 22, 2012 20:58:34 GMT 1, If I owned any of the images used on these more affordable versions I think I'd be disappointed by cheaper versions. I almost bought this book cover on it's release... If i'd paid £600 for it I would be a little unhappy.
I know these releases are a different size, composition and colour etc but I'd still feel slightly cheated.

Faile two new prints, by blitsu on Dec 22, 2012 21:05:45 GMT 1, Faile are doing these because they are easy and will sell, whereas their originals are not easy and are not selling.
I'm a huge Faile fan. The Temple, the Wolf - amazing. But let's not get carried away. This is bread and butter work to bring in income. Now, can we stop showing the same pictures, over and over and over and over and over and over...

Grumpy :-) Hope you are well. I can see both sides of the argument. I am happy to see pics of these, simply to see how much they vary. Agree that this is easy money for Faile, but I like the images on all three of the recent releases. Especially heartbreak. And it does look like there is a lot of hand finishing on each print, which considering price, does make them very good buys I think. It is hardly suprising that people want to show these off. Fair enough, I say. Speebe, I would be happy with that book cover no matter what has been released. It looks fanatastic.
