Seeing the amazing work of Penny recently made me think along the same lines. Even though some spend days, weeks or months cutting out stencils by hand, there's nothing stopping someone using a laser cutter and getting the same effect in a matter of minutes.

Of course, you still need an artistic eye, but I think (IMHO) that laser cutting will be VERY widely used in the not too distant future.

Depending on how you make your prints, your still have to line up the screens properly, make and recreate the perfect color and pull the ink evenly. It's quite a process. Any one who has done it can tell you. Plus you have to choose the layers. I would imagine a stencil artist gains a certain advantage by knowing how to build shadow and lighting one layer at a time. And then there is the drying time for each layer so it's quite a labor intensive process.
