From the 13th to the 20th December, the LE FEUVRE Gallery will present & FRIENDS THE UK COLLECTIVE. The concept of this exhibition is to highlight the creations of talented artists from the English scene whose works have not been displayed in France yet, except for the works of Mr Jago, Andrew McAttee and Sickboy, already exhibited by the LE FEUVRE Gallery. And yet, in 2007, Damien Hirst has acquired the totality of Paul Insect’s exhibition. And yet, Word to Mother displays his works in highly known London galleries. And yet, Xenz deploys on canvas and papers a universe more than singular in the current urban contemporary art overview with spinning birds and quiet landcapes – sometimes even Japanese like ones – made of subtle sprayings of painting cans. All of this should have tickled the curiosity of the French galleries… but have not. Therefore & FRIENDS THE UK COLLECTIVE is the occasion to meet a part of the diversity and singularity of the British current art: an English painting from the street and outstandingly contemporary… in the spirit of the times. For this exhibition, each of the six artists show a group of specially realised works: papers and paintings from the pointillism of Mr Jago to the Pop Art of Andrew McAttee via the surrealistic inspirations of Sickboy, the natural paintings of Xenz, the illustrative, worrying and yet optimistic touch of Word To Mother and finally, the world of silkscreen printings and bright tint areas of Paul Insect whose weird glanced characters make us wonder if they want our own good or not…
