This new series of prints are Shepard Fairey’s first use of diamond dust printing. The series is comprised of 4 stunning prints of floral ornament abstraction utilizing white and black diamond dust. The new medium, diamond dust, adhered to the surface of the screen prints is a shimmering and elegant material. Perhaps most famously used by Andy Warhol, who understood perfectly how to convey a message, Diamond Dust was used to add glamour, transforming ordinary images into coveted objects . The material aligns with Shepard’s work and interest in the seduction of advertising and consumerism. You only ever hear of the negativesin the news, Big corporations have way to much to loose to not to be 100% sure where there stones come from. likely all the conflict rocks are sold on street corners to tourists.

Definitely...just cheap ground glass. (Some artist use ground crystal glass...but not many!) The paper will cost more than the "diamond dust" - Just a clever advertising trick.

Shepard Fairey To Debut Diamond Dust Prints at The, by skitchy on Jan 24, 2013 15:36:28 GMT 1, When you buy a diamond dust print especially with Damien Hirst prints, you will always find some of the 'dust' will naturally fall off (onto the tissue paper or bottom of tube). -Funny story a friend of mine ended up phoning other criteria when he thought his framer had stolen the left over 'diamond dust', rest assured they explained to him it was just glass!
