POW invaders now available, by Cedric Mnich on Mar 28, 2013 10:59:43 GMT 1, I hate that feeling that there are always insiders... How many prints really go for sale online and how many are already pre-sold ? How come some people know about these Gold/Silver prints ?

Im mature enough to admit if I was selling it thanks. I posted the first pic of the print to show those interested there is no need to hype this edition. Have a great Easter.

POW invaders now available, by jeromeetjess on Mar 28, 2013 21:22:26 GMT 1, It is not the best invader piece for me but for an invader collector it is (or they are because there are 2 prints) a must to own! Invader prints by POW are just awesome with the embossed process that realy looks like tiles!

POW invaders now available, by naughtyshorty on Mar 29, 2013 12:18:39 GMT 1, Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with a VIP list. All it is is genuine collectors who pow know won't do a flip. How many of the red cyw have u ever seen sold or the gold or white cyw for that matter, or the nola APs. I doubt you'll see many silver or gold invaders for sale and to be honest that's the way it should be. I'd rather they went to genuine collectors than some wrong'un made £££ by flipping them along to someone

I'd rather they went to genuine collectors than some wrong'un made £££ by flipping them along to someone I understand your point however I disagree. VIP lists at places like POW have nothing to do with genuine collectors unlike artists who sometimes vet the clients before selling original work. The galleries dont know the "VIPs" on a personal basis in general, they are just a group of people who either a) have been buying for years or b) have spent large sums of cash. This does not stop flipping, and all fliping does not go on on ebay and this forum alone (though there is currently a red CYW on fleabay). There are people selling the prints you speak of, they just don't advertise openly, you have to ask around and know people within the networks to either find the work or spread the word.
Also these systems stop newer fans getting in and purchasing items at the base level, and largely only benefit "art investors". That being said its their product and they can sell it how they wish, just a shame I wont get one

There were two editions available for new fans at base level. The VIP prints were more expensive. Not sure i understand your point.

Not sure i understand your point. Hmmm I feel the point is self explanatory and am not sure what youre getting at as I dont understand how the expense of the VIP version has anything to do with the issue (unless ofcourse you only read the last line of what I said and didnt read the comment I was responding to either).
As stated a "better / higher quality" (depending on how you view shiny foil) version is potentially out there. In order to get this you have to be either a long time purchaser or have spent a lot of cash as this is what often constitutes "VIP". As stated these so called VIPs are no less likely to be individuals who flip so why not make it a fair open market via online / queue / or lottery release.
I cant break it down any more than that. And as I stated though I dont agree with POW or any other galleries choice to practice in this way I did mention it is a print they have produced and at the end of the day they can distribute it in any manner they wish.
Right I need to sort out my anger management now, my fuse seems to be getting shorter by the second

POW invaders now available, by eschiff on Mar 29, 2013 17:13:04 GMT 1, You said it prevents fans getting in at base level. They released two editions that were priced at base level. That's what I don't understand. In fact it's a fairly easy argument to say that what they did pleases the most amount of people. Those who want in at the base level as you say and those customers they value and know well. Everyone wins.

Right at the risk of sounding patronising just read the full comments in order and try not to focus on one line (you are clearly focussing on half a lines info and not placing it into context)! Other than saying that I'm out, if I say any more I'll just be rude and dismissive.

POW invaders now available, by naughtyshorty on Mar 29, 2013 20:15:05 GMT 1, I hear you, and see where you're coming from, but I do think VIPs are less likely to flip- not least because if u flip ull be off that VIP list pretty damn quick.
It also partly depends on your definition of flipping? Buying to sell in a day/ week / month / year? At what point does investing turn to flipping?

Fair enough, but with regards to investment you could argue buying for investment would be the definition of flipping as youre buying with the intention to sell and make cashish. Just a point of view amigo. Not that I have any issues with people who buy for investment as if I had spare cash I would rather invest in art than a savings account lol

It's got to be said across your posts theres a bunch of assumptions I could correct with the truth, there's some odd definitions , but mainly there's just envy which has loaded your judgement.

That being said its their product and they can sell it how they wish, just a shame I wont get one It's got to be said across your posts theres a bunch of assumptions I could correct with the truth, there's some odd definitions , but mainly there's just envy which has loaded your judgement.

POW invaders now available, by eschiff on Mar 30, 2013 11:43:28 GMT 1, I don't know you and don't think the accusation of flipper is as bad as some people here apparently do! I certainly have sold plenty of prints which has allowed me to grow my collection.
DD probably phrased my point better than I did. Apologise for any hurt feelings and appreciate the PM you sent.
