Visit ROME ๐ฎ๐น Italy Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Graffiti Prints on Aug 4, 2014 14:59:47 GMT 1, Rome in August wow super super hot
Travista area is cool ESP for dining, like all cities never drink or eat on a main streets food is rubbish and expensive
Look for places that are down back streets that are for locals most tourist places are terrible service and average food
Tip - in bars outside in Italy in main cities ESP at v tourist area's - never order with no price list even ice cream there well know to charge you massive amounts and get away with it!!
Street art in the South is mostly political ultra's style, but Rome does have cool stuff in the city.
If you had a hour to travel by train check out getea and terracina further down the coast.
I was there in April painting with Martin loads of cool street art from the festival there
Enjoy

Romes great if you have kids, as everything is free for under 18's.
Don't do any of the relgious sites on a Sunday as they're full of those catholics.

Visit ROME ๐ฎ๐น Italy Street Art, Galleries, Events, by romephotoblog on Aug 4, 2014 19:44:09 GMT 1, Hi there, you'll love Rome! I've lived here for a long time and yes, unfortunately the galleries will most likely be closed when you are here. I know Wunderkammern has already closed their last show - Jef Aerosol - and won't open up again until mid-September. As someone else said, a lot of murals in the area of the gallery - Aakash Nihalani, Jef Aerosol, C215, Alexey Luka, Escif, Agostino Iacurci. Ostiense is also the hot area for legal walls and also Quadraro has a wall project that has Ron English, Gary Baseman, Alice Pasquini, Lucamaleonte, ecc. muromuseum.blogspot.it/ Pigneto is a good neighborhood out of the center for bars (just watch your bags!) and that, as well as San Lorenzo, are classic area with a lot of illegal street art. Most of the Invaders have now gone, but all across the city you might run into an occasional one.
Check out my blog and you'll see some street art spots, as well as other stuff: romephotoblog.com. Also, for regular touristy stuff, make sure you book your entry tickets to the Vatican on their website, so you don't have to ait in the regular line. Galleria Borghese is amazing, would highly recommend, just make sure you call ahead or buy a ticket online as a reservation is required. For good food recommendations, check out parlafood.com, she also has a post about what restaurants are open around the August 15 holiday here, which can be key when things are shutting down.

Visit ROME ๐ฎ๐น Italy Street Art, Galleries, Events, by djbys89 on Aug 6, 2014 16:18:32 GMT 1, Hi there, I'm italian and I've been there various time. Prepare to walk a lot for two reasons_ 1 - just two lines of metro and a little of mess with buses, 2 - walking you can see every little corner of Rome, it's a gemm and it has more than 2000 years of history there to be watched.
Try to go just a little out from the centre to eat, try Trastevere, Testaccio and so on. This here is a really good trattoria in San Giovanni, not expensive and it has genuine local dishes www.tripadvisor.it/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d1164091-Reviews-Dar_Bruttone-Rome_Lazio.html Try to reserve a table. My advice is Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe or Tonnarelli wuth Onion and Guanciale. Delicious. Another One www.tripadvisor.it/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d2321865-Reviews-Trattoria_Re_di_Roma-Rome_Lazio.html This here is awesome for genuine and flavourful sandwiches (and not shit for tourists) when you'll be visiting the city centre in the daytime: www.tripadvisor.it/Restaurant_Review-g187791-d2420358-Reviews-La_Sandwicheria_al_Nazareno-Rome_Lazio.html
If you plan to visit any museum go for Musei Vaticani, one the best collection of the world. Go to Villa Borghese (park) and Galleria Borghese (Where you can find the largest Caravaggio's collection of the world). Ostiense for street and Urban, etc etc

Like the image on the flyer thing above, but... just one question, why does the riders foot seem like it's forgotten it's meant to be joined to his ankle!? Or am I missing something obvious... which is probably the case!

Visit ROME ๐ฎ๐น Italy Street Art, Galleries, Events, by miloisonfire on Sept 24, 2014 9:19:59 GMT 1, โmyFINBEC: tasting Urban Artโ artists C215, Etam Cru, Herakut, Vhils opening Thursday 25th September, 7pm dates 25th to 28th September 2014
Wunderkammern is pleased to present the show โmyFINBEC: tasting Urban Artโ, in collaboration with Cave Fin Bec. The show will be part of the event โRoma Art 2Nightsโ.
The project myFINBEC starts in 2012 from Yvo Mathier, the owner of Cave Fin Bec located in Sion (Canton of Valais, Switzerland) and his passion for art. Cave Fin Bec produces high quality organic wine; in 2012, it won five gold medals for its wines in the largest wine competition in the world, the AWC International Wine Challenge.
With the aim of combining wine and art in one, unique, experience, myFINBEC invites some of the most important Urban Art artists from all over the world to create artworks on Cave Fin Bec wine cases. Each single artwork is painted on a wall formed by 84 cases, which contain each one six bottles of wine; on their labels, the artistic image of the work is reproduced.
The myFINBEC project is doing a European Tour with a series of four day pop-up shows held in various international cities, and will be hosted in Rome by Wunderkammern gallery. At the show eight murals will be presented, each measuring over three meters high by two meters wide. Visitors will be able to purchase sections of the original art in the form of wood wine cases. These wood cases will later by filled with six bottles of Cave Fin Becโs organic red and white wine. Also available at the art show are limited edition signed art prints of each painting.
You can buy online with the coupon code "wunder" in order to get free shipping.
The four artists presented by myFINBEC 2014 and Wunderkammern are: C215, Etam Cru, Herakut and Vhils. C215 (Christian Guรฉmy, France, 1973), artist represented by Wunderkammern, uses the stencil technique to give voice to the protagonists of the street and to contextualize themes from Renaissance and classic tradition in the present. At the exhibition Au-delร du Street-Art at Musรฉe de la Poste in Paris, he exposed together with artists such as Banksy, Invader and Shepard Fairey; in 2013, Wunderkammern dedicated to C215 a solo-show. Etam Cru is the duo of Polish artists Bezt and Sainer; graduated in Fine Arts, their work ranges from Urban Art to illustration, and graphic design. Their production tells about surreal stories, through characters which find themselves in unexpected contexts; the observer is invited to relate with these figures with curiosity. Herakut is a duo of German street artists, Hera and Akut; since 2004 they combine their talents to create stories of imaginary worlds, populated by figures inspired with individual characters. In particular, Hera creates their forms and proportions, while Akut paints the photorealistic elements. Together, the duo has realized exhibitions and performances all over the world. Finally Vhils (Alexandre Farto, 1987) is a Portuguese artist internationally known. An engraving master, he works on different layers of the mural surface, as well as on wood or metal. Vhils developed his engraving techniques, arriving at a new sophisticated method consisting in micro-explosions that carve the wall, letting emerge the artist's anonymous faces.
