That's not good news. Keep us posted with what POW say.
Was this one of the prints that was involved in their investigation a while back?

OMG Buster you've got a fake ;D Dont think so DM, numbering is good and had it for long enough not to be worried about it being a fake, it came from POW. There have been mixed / duplicated numbers before, just waiting to hear back from POW. Dont worry fella.

Was this a complete bargain?, by buster on Nov 5, 2007 17:01:44 GMT 1, Print on its way to POW, the buyer of last nights print might want to contact them and do the same before they have to break open a consevation grade frame, destroyining it in the process to get it sent off and verified........ @rse. Still might be worth getting in touch with POW though.

Was this a complete bargain?, by Rude Copper on Nov 5, 2007 17:18:53 GMT 1, this is'nt designed to open a tin of worms, but perhaps now people can see the downside to encouraging unauthorised overruns (b/door prints) being sold.

Totally agree RC, but this looks more like confusion, both prints bear recognisable handwriting for print numbers, both come with a fair degree of provenance. As mentioned earlier in the thread, the records for WSM are shaky in places, with both prints coming from recognised sources, not having seen anything physical from the other print, I am 100 % conviced mine is bang on and its most likely either a numbering or logging error, as we have seen before occasionally. But as you say this small ammount of confusion existant in a run, injecting extra run prints into the pot most definately doesn't help.

Was this a complete bargain?, by Rude Copper on Nov 5, 2007 18:17:02 GMT 1, i have no doubt that but are 100%, its well documented that pow were a bit shoddy with their records early days, & tom-tom were even worse, they used to number prints without logging the detail, sometimes issuing the same number, etc.......hopeless, when you consider how flimsy the provenance is for early work, it becomes essential for overruns to be taken out of the system, so as not to cause incidents like this, you have to remember that the bogus prints were made by the same printer, using the same paper, the same ink, etc, the only difference is a little bit of graphite in the bottom corner.
