Isn't this the same show where the salvaged ieak punk was haphazardly sold/unsold at supposedly 240k? This nonsense plays right into robin barton's failed business plan. I, for one, give zero credence to that reported million dollar auction price for the poundland/sewing boy piece. And since this program is the same one that has featured street works before that will never receive PC certification, I don't believe this result either. It's silly and makes no sense unless it's viewed as a gimmick by barton to drive publicity on the gullible, no?

These programmes have just one aim and that is viewer ratings. For instance there is a programme here called Antiques Roadtrip whereby 2 supposed experts travel the country and buy antiques (Tat) from dealers then attempt to make a profit at auction on same items,wrong way around i know but makes ratings, the dealers are given huge and unrealistic discounts by the Tat dealers and the viewing public may get the idea that they too can achieve this kind of discount, wrong, the discounts given are balanced by the fact that its a free advertisement on national TV,the discounts are subsidised to account for this, all for ratings. A more interesting version would be should the dealers make a loss at auction then they should stump up from their own pot. |
