Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by johnnyh on Jul 30, 2013 5:04:40 GMT 1, โHe was trying to sell this stolen art.โ Police found images of the work on Lawrenceโs his laptop. โOne picture shows the panel, and the space where the panel was, having been removed,โ Mr Franklin said. โAnother image from Mr Lawrenceโs computer shows the panel itself having been removed. โAnother [image] shows the Sperm Alarm in the process of being framed. Mr Franklin said web pages from the auction site, where it would appear he tried to sell the artwork for ยฃ17,000, were also found.
Lawrence claimed a friend named โArekโ had given him the artwork and he had no reason to be suspicious. He was convicted unanimously by a jury of attempting to convert criminal property, but cleared of a single count of handling stolen goods. The judge, Mr Recorder Peter Lodder QC handed Lawrence a suspended sentence and said: โYou were convicted by the jury of attempting to convert or transfer criminal property. โThat criminal property was a section of wall which bore a Banksy work of graffiti art which you attempted to sell for ยฃ17,000. โI bear in mind that value, I also bear in mind that the section of wall was stolen on February 11, 2011, and found on your computer was a photo showing you had possession of that artwork by just before 2pm the next day. โYour recent criminal activity seems to be focused on pieces of art

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by johnnyh on Jul 30, 2013 5:23:29 GMT 1, Still possibly not yours to trade/sell though is it. The above is the most recent case of removed art work ownership that was attempted to be sold via ebay that made court. Guy accused of selling a Banksy piecce removed from a hotel wall. The above about possession and all that does not hold up according to the above court definition. He was charged etc one part guilty one part not guilty every case different hence the point ownership notdefinative.
So I would advise members to steer well clear of these types of pieces. If they do good if they do not then their fault. But will certainly not support your sale/ trade mate.
And no I am not off my head unfortunately and no would not touch your piece if you offer for free. Sorry pal it's lowlife art trading IMO note the above case made every daily newspaper in the UK and is well covered on this board. Though a knowledgeable person llike yourself would know this. Work by an unknown artist called Banksy

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by johnnyh on Jul 30, 2013 6:41:17 GMT 1, Mate you already know this that's why you keep saying trade instead of wanting to sell as you think it gets round things. I do not buy or trade street pieces so no interest at all.
Why do you think the major auction houses do not do street pieces in general ....... Because they like Banksy no it's because it's very difficult to define ownership. When Banksys pieces from the street are auctioned the house does try to go through that process So anyone buying or trading your piece will not know if he/she is the legitimate owner as other can always have a claim to the piece. Same goes for you you bought it off a nice man on ebay who most likely knocked it off a wall. Eg doubt the Paris council gave it to him. So sorry chap but that's the facts whether you agree or disagree is largely irrelevant. Buying a stolen car off eBay does not make you the rightful owner

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by Feral Things on Jul 30, 2013 12:10:07 GMT 1, I don't see how johnnyh has derailed the thread or taken the moral high ground. He's just raised some very valid issues for any other forum members who are thinking of entering into a trade or thinking of buying. After all, this is a forum for discussion.

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by johnnyh on Jul 30, 2013 14:40:06 GMT 1, Thx for the pic chap glad I am looking younger, fitter and with more hair only disappointing thing was the fact I have much bigger boobs.
Happy to derail a tat sales thread.. No art no money you do a fair amount of sales on here chap may be your just being economical with the truth and not for the first time I recall a few of your sales threads that people have pulled you up for not being a honest as you should be let's say. How many times have you had to put up the sale withdrawn sign now a fair few as I remember.
But I did stick to the points in question and did not even delve into the legitimacy of the piece. Oh yes forgot you bought it from a bloke on eBay so must be true. The fact that although you can include these pieces in insurance it is unlikely that if lost damaged etc they would pay out due to their history and status.
But again buy dodgy pieces selling dodgy tends to follow. Hence as mentioned the desire to trade. You have a few of these dodgy street pieces as I recall so you know the score me thinks. Just hope some of this serves as a warning and guide to the newer members. Most of us have seen enough dodgy deals and pieces on here to last a life time. But above all of this the best places for street pieces is on the street. All the I agree much better they stay in the street but someone would buy i was just preserving it and appreciating it etc just does not really cut it. Sorry

Invader piece originally from street BUT now in private ownership HOWEVER not taken down by current owner (just to add here that if someone left summat on my house or land ITS FKIN MINE), said street piece is being offered up for a TRADE for summat else THEREBY giving someone else the opportunity to have the Invader instead of summat they no longer want.
Good luck with the trade.

pps. Words in CAPITALS are me slightly raising my voice to keep your attention as you reach for the keyboard only.

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by kel on Jul 31, 2013 10:11:46 GMT 1, just to add here that if someone left summat on my house or land ITS FKIN MINE What would be the legal stance if for example I bought a House and on that House happened to be a Street Piece. Would I own that as well. Or if there is a dispute in ownership on the piece I realise that there is damp in the wall that the said piece was on the wall where the damp is. Am I allowed to send a bill to the Artist for contribution towards the costs.

Want 2 trade ~~ Original Invader Mosaic. Paris. , by phage on Jul 31, 2013 10:32:09 GMT 1, Last time I saw a removed Invader piece for sale, it was just a load of used tiles in a box.
Might as well just go to B&Q, buy some mosaic tiles and make your own Invader.

That of course would depend upon whether you bought a house with a street piece on or a street piece with a house as a part of it. Like wise this could be classed as artists condition (careful some on here would refer to it as mint) or alternatively you could remove the wall and deliver it intact to the artists studios for repair ideal people to arrange this for you are Kezzler, Bankrobber and a well known charity organization known as the Sincura Group. Another well known but slightly dodgy help if you want to sell or trade is Small Tree in Australia should be taken with a pinch of salt if handled by them as things often just disappear
