FS: UNIQUE Banksy inscribed rock¨Spike¨2005, by pelle on Sept 17, 2013 12:25:49 GMT 1, And most men say we women are b**chy and into gossip !!! Pelle, I don't need to defend myself against lies, especially to you or any other idiot trouble maker. Those bad things you mention are not true. 2 out of 3 Banksy artworks come with checked documents. . Those who don't know me may believe those untruths at first, but if you are patient and willing to see me demonstrate my good qualities, even those who don't know me well will doubt those lies. If anyone has any doubt about any or all Banksy's that I have put up for sale ask the gallery MultiplesInc gallery who have them listed. I Don't defend myself against gossip, and don't participate in gossiping about others. That someone has told lies about me. If I start explaining, more OF u people will get drawn in and take sides, and in the end I realise it's all been made worse. Gossip is best left to die on its own - ESPECIALLY based on lies, it will almost always do so.
If you really believe that you are in the right and that you don't need to defend yourself, your post seems unnecessary.
While calling me an "idiot trouble maker" may make you feel better about yourself, it should not remove attention from the facts at hand. All three of the "artworks" that you are trying to sell have sketchy provenance at best.
1) The "You Lie" rat has been demonstrated to have been sold for £300 on eBay in June 2013 (www.ebay.com/itm/151072577430). It came with no COA or proven provenance then, and from what you have presented, this has not changed.
2) The "Lying to the police is never wrong" faux wall piece comes with no proven provenance. At Still Kicking Gallery an e-mail which allegedly came from Pest Control was displayed along with it. There is no proof that this e-mail is not a fabrication, but even if it is real, it clearly confirms that the piece is NOT eligible for authentication. Also note that the e-mail is worded very carefully, so that it in no way confirms that this piece of decoration was actually made by Banksy.
3) The "SPIKE" rock, which this thread is dedicated to, also comes with very sketchy provenance. Again, the e-mails (which you seem to believe constitute "checked documents". Who were they checked by?) could easily be faked, and should therefore be disregarded as far as provenance goes, unless you have some way for the prospective buyer to confirm their authenticity (perhaps your good friend Ralph Lazarides can help you with this).
As an aside, regardless of the authenticity of the e-mails and the rock itself, if the piece was really sold for 30-35K USD in 2007 (as you claim), it seems strange that it would be for sale at Still Kicking Gallery in 2012 for roughly 7,700 USD. And even stranger that your current price tag of 17K USD should be considered "very reasonable".
To sum up: As already mentioned above, all of these "artworks" come with very doubtful provenance. The fact that the rock and the faux wall piece come with e-mails which are easy to fabricate and that they have been displayed at various dubious second-hand galleries does not make them the real deal. The fact that the rat stencil painting was sold on e-Bay a few months ago with no provenance and an unlikely "my-mate-found-this" story... well, I think that speaks for itself.

Ah, yes. The infamous article in Information in which "journalist" Kristian Villesen holds the microphone and let's Solomon Lyttle talk, without ever asking a single critical question.
The best parts of the article are the erratum at the top (in wich the editor basically states that the journalist f**ked up by not hearing other sides of the story) and the reader comments at the bottom.

I think if Banksy did a sh*t and freeze dried it then there would be certain people on this forum clambering to buy it if it came with a Pest Control COA!!
