New architecture in NYC has been generally poor...other than some buildings in Chelsea/around the High Line most new builds are crap. |

It was always going to be an incredibly difficult design commission but I'm glad he's made the point. It's a disappointment and not the 'dazzling' icon that I expected - sadly it's too much function over form. |

I remember reading about this design, it looks absolutely stunning, it would certainly have been a two fingers up to the snakes that caused/wanted/celebrated the demise of the twin towers. It's a shame that it wasn't chosen, a statement piece like this would have been a nice confidence booster to the City, maybe money was the issue?

He obviously feels passionately about the terrible attacks on the World Trade Centre, and it's long lasting effects on all of us, but is this not a cheap shot lacking in depth!?
I'm only asking, just confuses me... obviouly another string to his bow, architecture critic. But Banksy usually stands head and shoulders over the rest when incisively commenting on something.
This could have been written by a Sun hack in 5 minutes.
