If it is Banksy, and Im not 100% convinced it is, then I think it's a bit mediocre tbh... surprised he'd finish with that.
I looks to me more like someone else trying to do an image that people will think is a Banksy...

While on the surface there's a lot about it that says Banksy , conceptually it seems a little obvious, missing the Banksy twist somehow, and its not up to his usual standard of execution. Compare this to the guy standing outside the strip joint for example - not in the same league at all.

I don't really think its been a massive challenge for Banksy, he has the time, money and resources to pull pretty much anything off but its certainly been entertaining. I expect we wont see much from him for a few years now so actually, can I regress and say yes, I expect a huge finale.

It was very nice to have some help in this month long treasure hunt. It was just a few years ago during the Village Pet Shop show that I felt like the only American on the forum. Dreadnatty, Afrika, KyleBroklyn, Viva Le Republique, Athomas you guys were instrumental in helping get the images and verbal vibe of the past 31 days of pleasure, intrique & art out to the people of our community. I am getting a lot of PM's about stuff that I promised to send out to over 200 forum members so please be patient everything will arrive across the pond in the next few days from STIK Tokyo prints, STIK Anarchy Diaries, Village Voice Papers, NY Post, Daily News, I Love NY Prints. If I left out any NY peeps it wasn't on purpose it is just 7 AM EST so I am bit tired.

Particularly drachinfire, kylefrombrooklyn, afr1ka, wearology (Both of him ;-) ), viva and everyone else who is local and has posted a pic or a vid or reported what really happened on the street. You've really helped to make this a great event, and I hope to see you guys more on the forum Big big love to you.

I had so much fun going back and forth with her when a piece was announced trying to track it down for her. I think she ended up seeing 11 before they were covered over which is pretty awesome.
Tomorrow sure isn't going to be as much fun watching these pages!

This last month has felt like Christmas came early - sitting here in the UK it's been like opening some mad digital advent calendar window every day, peering in and watching the stories play out with a real sense of joy.
It has been truly epic.

Tonight the streets are ours! great ride, y'all. recently moving out of my home, nyc, feeling as though i was missing out on much of the fun this month, i cant imagine a better alternative to enjoying this residency than on here. on the final morning, listening to a great tune i wouldnt generally listen to, while reading some nostalgic posts with kind and sincere sentiments, im quite thankful to be a part of such a forum. |

The outside of the building features a large tag by Cope2 on a metal shutter gate and an enormous mural painted by M. Schorr that was there for many years and has recently been painted over with a very large mural by I think but not 100% sure by the artist Josh Keyes. This would be a perfect place for a permanent art installation and a great meeting place for budding street artists. The building is located near the Hustler Club. This is 100% a rumor and speculation on my part, but I figured I would share this information with you guys.

Wear, aside from the recent activity, prior to that, did the building otherwise seem empty? Perhaps a big show inside getting planned? I know there was an old artist community/ set of studios (street artists in the ELC), sculptors, etc that were once in an open warehouse a few years back, but at some point were pushed out for a development that I'm not sure ever happened. Though the WSH is quite massive so I have no idea.
