Over the last 8 days he's captured the attention of the world's media with some whimsical joy - albeit giving great pleasure to many of us tuning in. Then, with all eyes looking his way, salivating for the next instalment, he gives us this - a hard-core, visceral punch in the stomach. The message, the interpretation, leaves little to the imagination - but he's brought it to us from the heart of the USA. Very bold. Very brave. He's giving it with both barrels back.

Someone said earlier that in the interview he opens up just a fraction more than he has before, i think for the first time we are really getting to know a bit about how he thinks and what he thinks of the world in general, the interview was good for this, but the audio with each piece gives some insight into his thinking..... bugger a new book or print i want a cd with all the recordings ... number 1 on itunes in a week

This is one of the most distressing things I have ever seen. It fills me with anger.
The soldiers seem to treat human life as worthless.
Unjustifiable.
And the lies - can we shoot the van, they are picking up bodies and weapons - were they? Really?
It fills me with such sadness.
And the West wonders why people become radicalised.
Oh, and the Banksy. Well that is just superb. Especially when viewed in conjunction with the audio, which is clearly an intrinsic part of the artwork. Quite possibly one of the best pieces by Banksy I have ever seen.
I do wonder how this will be seen by those in the county/city of which he is a guest, as it is so clearly critical of the actions of its military.
But sadly today, my lasting thoughts are about that video, rather than the artwork, and I have a heavy heart. I rather think the artist might like that though. Maybe...

For the record, I hopped in to take pics, touched nothing and got the crowd to turn on the first guy I saw in there who tried to steal something.
Also, can we reflect on the fact that Banksy and Os Gemeos got the Voice to distribute hundreds of thousands, if not millions of free prints of their collabo all over the city and wherever the Voice is distributed. There are your prints for the show!
