Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by Deleted on Oct 9, 2013 20:21:17 GMT 1, Bravo Banksy. Over the last 8 days he's captured the attention of the world's media with some whimsical joy - albeit giving great pleasure to many of us tuning in. Then, with all eyes looking his way, salivating for the next instalment, he gives us this - a hard-core, visceral punch in the stomach. The message, the interpretation, leaves little to the imagination - but he's brought it to us from the heart of the USA. Very bold. Very brave. He's giving it with both barrels back. .....with yet more to come.

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by vinzc on Oct 9, 2013 20:26:47 GMT 1, For me its been a bit zzzz so far, untill this Brilliantt piece, this is what I was expecting from him and hope theres more art on the controversial side to stir things. Brings to light to the yanks all these pointless wars they create and the amount of normal people they kill. Hope he produces another strong piece with regrad to all the kids getting killed by their own people/guns in America, it's one messed up place for sure, been reading about Chicago which everyone now calls 'Chiraq' they really need to sort their guns problem out. www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/09/san-francisco-rail-commuters-on-phones-didnt-notice-gun-before-killing-police/ settle down over there...
you clearly have not read much of your own history, like what could be found in a.k. macdougall's book - australians at war: a pictorial history...clearly about australian military atrocities.
my point isnt to put you, or your country down...as you are clearly doing. nor is it to defend america and some acts of government that most people living in the US are ashamed of. nor is it to slight banksy's piece (that i sincerely appreciate; one that struck an incredible chord) even given the fact that he's debunking american war crimes, vs those the UK has committed since the hague convention of 1907. it's to illustrate that we all have have our skeleton's. a little more tact would go a long way the next time you decide to take a shit on 'the yanks.'

Limited liability company? Is that a group of people?? Not us so have no idea what that is.. Sorry.
But the place was locked up when you check it on streetview... And there was a car parken there.. And people must have seen something going on in that spot. Also funny that fragile was still hanging about

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by nrgball on Oct 9, 2013 20:38:21 GMT 1, I hope no one is over looking how huge an installation this is on the streets of NYC. Dude had some serious audacity not just with content but with the extent of the sculpture/painting. NYPD is going to be paying attention now, if they weren't already.
Fwiw, I think this gives him a bit of street cred. Not many folks have the balls or cash to put something like this together.
Hats off to him!
I really appreciate the exposure of the US military complex!! Way to stand up to the corrupt man!!!

LLC --> Like a corporation, a limited liability company or "LLC", is a separate and distinct legal entity. This means that an LLC can obtain a tax identification number, open a bank account and do business, all under its own name. The primary advantage of an LLC is that its owners, known as members, have "limited liability", meaning that, under most circumstances, they are not personally liable for the debts and liabilities of the LLC. For example, if an LLC is forced into bankruptcy, then, absent special circumstances, the members will not be required to pay the LLC's debts with their own money. If the assets of the LLC are not enough to cover the debts and liabilities, the creditors generally cannot look to the members, managers or officers for recovery.
I would assume Banksy/or his team must've received some sort of permission to use that property, but im no lawyer....even if they owner(s) didnt grant him permission, they would still have the right to assume whatever is on that property(the land alone is worth quite a bit of $$$$ - ripe for development)

I'm Welsh, not Australian but get your point on history- we could be debating for Days/months on the subject!! Seriously though the gun situation in US really needs to be sorted out, after this piece hopefully Banksy produces something on this subject which will make the headlines.

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by vlad on Oct 9, 2013 20:51:06 GMT 1, This is one of the most distressing things I have ever seen. It fills me with anger. The soldiers seem to treat human life as worthless. Unjustifiable. And the lies - can we shoot the van, they are picking up bodies and weapons - were they? Really? It fills me with such sadness. And the West wonders why people become radicalised. Oh, and the Banksy. Well that is just superb. Especially when viewed in conjunction with the audio, which is clearly an intrinsic part of the artwork. Quite possibly one of the best pieces by Banksy I have ever seen. I do wonder how this will be seen by those in the county/city of which he is a guest, as it is so clearly critical of the actions of its military. But sadly today, my lasting thoughts are about that video, rather than the artwork, and I have a heavy heart. I rather think the artist might like that though. Maybe...

It might have been set up weeks ago with something covering the fence. Still it's a car and a truck, not exactly subtle. I'm sure he's calculated everything to be as low risk as possible. It's massive and quite a statement as a street installation in NYC.

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by tartarus on Oct 9, 2013 21:19:59 GMT 1, Favourites so far are the van
has a a waterfall like my avatar, its as if they are by the same artist!!
And todays
A stunningly solid message, and an episode we shouldnt forget we were never meant to see! The first time i watched that video i realised how little i understood about war. The first few seconds of the audio made my blood run cold as i remembered what it was with the awful feeling it gave me the first time round.
I have a horrible feeling he may have put the target on his own back with this one though. Banksy's Geurnica i guess. Keep up the slammin it to em Mr B.

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by Hubble Bubble on Oct 9, 2013 21:23:55 GMT 1, The figures in the car are wonderfully done, they seem to be executed in a modern take of the classic Renaissance style. It looks to me as if they are portrayed as biblical characters, maybe even martyrs? They seem to be pleading with God, you can see their pain and anguish. It's a scene of despair .For me that makes the seemingly light hearted 'banter' between the soldiers as they murder these civilians below with a 'happy go lucky' approach even more spine tingly chilling. Truly disturbing, haunting and emotional at the same time, I didn't expect to see such a powerful piece, let alone be moved by one. A masterclass. ^^ This... and the horses' necks are so long they look like giraffes

Banksy - Better Out Than In - New York - BOTI, by drachinfire on Oct 9, 2013 21:28:45 GMT 1,
I was bored the other day and similarly waiting for approval to join the forum. Figured I'd draw up a response to Omar's tagging in the style of our boy Banksy. Thanks for the inspiration from a few dozen pages back! (I don't recall who posted the actual photoshopped pic of Omar hanging first).
