Nothing to do with the piece in the rag but he like most Artists doesnt create works to satisfy public opinion and i wouldnt think he will pander to the masses in any way in the future, he does what he does, some like it some dont, i do, i like the way he gets up the noses of government and officials and i like the simple way he jolts a person into thinking outside the box (sorry about that phrase).

The pieces that get tagged to feck, still have a banksy underneath.. so id much rather that...... Its a shame hes going to leave behind a load of steel shutters and few lucky building owners.... But we have seen the art so im thankful for that |

The last month is the first time shutters have been installed over a piece isn't it? Only perspex before?
My fundamental principle is to leave any painting on the street to live and die there... having said that, the interest and passion to protect these pieces has some (grating teeth) positive elements. But I'm not naive and totally understand the huge influence monetary value plays in this.
People who would never have looked at art, let alone engaged with it (thinking it was for rich people in white walled galleries) are seeing, talking and interacting with Banksy's work,
Whether it's totally money driven, possibly close, but Isn't protecting better than destroying?
I know I'm not being consistent, but do see aomething else apart from greed.
