Was really pleased the card Fateh Moudarres did well. He's one of my old favs.I have a canvas by him that had for a while from my time in Middle East. Never gonna sell it but when his works are up like this always tweaks my interest.
Keeps the wife off my back if they are selling well and makes her say "told you it was shit " if their not

I was very surprised actually I was pretty sure it would have done better although I did think this sale did look A bit cobbled together a real bits of this and bits of that sale. Also a small infantry. It almost could have been one persons eclectic collection built up over time for sale (not saying it was). Def a weird listing. Hence did not attract the type of buyer required. In actual fact it did sell in a sense but there was just no competition for the bidder so that person may have gone higher just did not get the chance so poss sold afterwards but like you say surprising.

I thought it was strange too - I remember seeing the canvas in person, it's a cracker and if I had 20k spare I'd have nabbed it. Sadly I'm piss poor 
My view is that CB's management and backers have pushed him too far too quickly and the market isn't really there to back it all up. Yes, they may have shifted a large number of prints, but, I would guess that 80% of the last release were purchased by speculators and are destined to a life in a portfolio.
I'm not knocking Charming Baker, I'm a big fan and own quite a few pieces. Just my humble opinion...

Did the LA show sell out? There seemed to be a distinct lack of buzz about it. I had a friend in LA on the lookout for articles and news - they said there was barely anything in the press...

Think it bid to 11 or 12 as I remember so must not have reached their minimum to move it on. But must say was surprised it did not make the low estimate

Did wonder that myself bit of a first for an auction house.
one I think it was probably just an IT glitch that happened when they updated the site with the costs.
two could be that they were using stock photos from another sourceand access finished at end of the show but I doubt this.
