An ER canvas sold for 4,5k some months ago and theft goes for ca2k so should be quite few signed banksys that are possible to get for that trade.

dotdotdot... recently there seems to be a bit of a buzz going on about this Dotdotdot fella.
Lots of hype and sell out releases. Prices going up up up.....

I have received offers of dotdotdot trades almost everyday for the last few weeks and i have also seen countless dotdotdot for sale threads on the forum.

so why are people buying this stuff if nobody wants to keep them??? and what makes people think everyone else would want their dotdotdot in exchange for good works by well established artists??

I really don't want to be rude about any artist or art but come on whats going on.

True, but some may genuinely like the prints and images. Yes i do own a DDD. And no, it's not for sale

I've no doubt that his execution is of a high standard and I did quite like the Napoleon print but personally I find the majority of his images dull, tired, humourless and uninspiring, blokes in balaclavas holding guns in different situations...yawn. I certainly don't see this as 'refreshing'. He'll be doing skulls and butterflies next. I'm not in the slightest bit surprised that people are using the forum hype that surrounds him to try and blag a better print in an trade (I noticed one cheeky member hoping to swap a dot dot dot for a Banksy!), We've seen it many times before with other artists.

Same sentiments J, No doubt Dolk paved the way for this pricing but supply and demand right.....I like the thief and napoleon image. Certain people look at the world a certain way. I think most of dots work is based on sarcasm. I like the idea of a Major historical figure who's know for being his own downfall wearing a paper hat, A dunce hat would of been to obvious. Old school bun.....  and thief....I think that's every art collectors dream...a half blank canvas where someone is stealing art....fucking hilarious......I like dot dare I say more thank Dolk....(but im a sarcastic arshole...)I do think Norway has upped the pricing no doubt...just check out finno (and that Norwegian forum who's name escapes me begins with  Kun)  5-6 thousand($) for TR. and 3-4 for PP and Zooicide. Rat-king just sold a TR in the last weeks at 500,000 yen plus shipping and taxes that has to be closer to 5,300-5,400 hundred. ( was that u DOC.... haha)...any way...I like my dot's and do not plan on selling them...I see the hype your referring to but think that's more good images coming out with less competition and filling a void in the market....but that's MHO

I do not have any pieces by ... but this happens at least a couple times a year with different artists on the publicity train. Only time will tell if it is real, and most people selling/ trading right now are trying to capitalize on the success.

The free ... giveaway by black apple - i havent seen such a response on the forum in years. I doubt they were all multiple accounts.

i just faile to understand all the dotdotdot hype, especially when there are so many buyers trying to gret rid of their purchase a week or two after release. I am not exaggerating in the slightist when i say i have never been offered so many trades by so many people want to get rid of their newly purchased dotdotdot.

You could remove Dot's name there and insert 95% of artists who are followed on the forums.  But I'd rather the work Dot is doing over a massive amount of the stuff being flogged here. I'd start another thread with Stik's name in the subject but I think there's a few of those threads from the last few months.  So to be clear, you don't like Dot yet strangely people keep offering to sell you stuff from Dot? I just find it rather hard to understand why people would constantly offer you Dot in trade without you actually wanting work from him.

Plenty of people buy to resell and even more buy because they like and want to keep the image on their walls.  It's not that it comes off rude but it's ignorant because YOU don't like something and have been offered work from the artist YOU don't understand the hype? So what artists do you buy that you deem worthy of the hype or the buzz Dot has?

so TO BE CLEAR i had a for trade thread with some stuff i wanted to trade, dface, faile, eelus, dolk. and i never asked for specific trades just let me know what you have... and i have been offered dotdotdot a million times even on other forums, facebook and ebay all dotdotdot.

faile- last print release was excellent no problems with purchasing, 27 colour screen print £330 shipped to london

dface dtail- good release, good size and quality  £300.

hush last print £275 good price, good print, good artist.

as far as i can see some people have dotdotdot stuff and dont know what to do with it.

not seen the hush, but i assumed his stuff was giglee. You cant compare faile printing to dot dot dot... Why would the napoleon print need to be 27 screens.
