a relatively limited group of individuals trying to believe its something more and yet offering not one concrete explanation for their backing
a limited idea that's not grown
initial hype and blind belligerence
note:I'm referring to the stik phenomenon in its entirety not the individual piece, which whilst loosely based on the Statue of Liberty, even the most ardent fan would struggle to claim this representation adds little of note
And yes of course all art is subjective, so this is entirely my own poorly thought out opinion, I'm simply questioning what would be appear to be further examples of poorly thought out praise.

If you are saying current info has opening on the 12th, then it has been delayed.
Check their FB posting dated Nov 5th. Their original post on their website had the 6th originally as well.

The title (Liberty Project) is in accordance with that interpretation too ... I mean, remember the relief you feel when you badly need to ... ah, fuck it. Maybe the taxi theory works better ... at least there is a genuine link to New York ... I mean, they have taxis there too, havn't they.

The 'forgotten' story behind the Olympic photo (1968) is the Australian white athlete, who won the silver medal and while he did not raise a fist, clap or move towards the black athletes - wore a pin badge in support. The two black athletes had discussed with him the action they were going to take before the ceremony. After the Olympics, he was ostracized by his fellow teammates and media and did not compete for two years. After that, he was not picked by the Australian team for the 1972 games even though he qualified '13 times' to be included in the run up. He was not invited by the Australian IOC to be represented/be part of in the Sydney 2000 Olympic games.
His story is one of endeavour, being 200m national champion 5 times and his fastest 200m time (at the 1968 Olympics) still stands as the Australian national record. He was not sorry of the action that he took that day.

I'll be honest I haven't read up on Stik at all and maybe I should just to understand what it's all about, but with all the hype I'm trying to work out what the fuss is about?
